Save Attributed Text to Parse in Swift - ios

I am creating a basic note taking though parse using Swift. I want to save the attributed text to parse, but I can't figure out how. I've look online and I was not successful. Does anyone have any ideas? Here is my code:

You have an NSAttributedString, which supports coding, so you can use an NSKeyedArchiver to create an NSData instance representing the raw attributed string. This includes the text and all of the formatting.
Using this data you can create a PFFile and save it, you also need to associate this file with another object in your parse store so you can get it back later. When you do you can get the NSData from it and use an NSKeyedUnarchiver to unpack it back into an NSAttributedString.

What am I doing wrong while populating this UITableView in Swift?

I am trying to populate a UITableView using an array and I am unable to do so. Here is what I have so far. This code is for retrieving data and storing it in the array that I am using to populate the UITableView:

The data is properly appending into the array and when I print the count of the array, it prints the correct count. This means that the data is there. However, when I try to populate a UITableView, it doesn't detect any data. I have the following code to make sure that there is data in the array before trying to populate the UITableView:

After appending data to cartArray in updateCart you should reloadData(), like this:

The updateCart doesn't seem to have any connection to the tableViewOutlet so you need to pass in a reference to it in your viewDidLoad like this:

Note: Since you're using a for loop to trigger the async call multiple times you can use the array count to check if all the items are appended to do the reload to avoid multiple reloads.

ReloadData not working Swift with Alamofire

I tried to reload my UITableView after adding new items. When I try with a reloadData() it's not working. Nothing is shown.
If I try to reload my getallrecords function, that reload items but they are repeated.

Question 1
Why reloading tableView wont show new data ??
Your function reload_data is doing nothing more than reloading data buddy :) When you call reload data all the tableView delegates like number of rows in section,number of sections and cellForRowAtIndexPath gets called but all these methods return the value depending on the data source you provide isn't it buddy :)
So if you change the data source and then call reload data they will show you the new data :) but in your reload_data function you are not altering the data source at all :) simply calling reload data on the unalterred data source will re render the tableView again thats all :)
What you can do :)
You already have a method that fetches the new data using almofire :) just call it and in the success block anyway you are reloading the tableView :) So everything will be fine buddy :)

Why my tableView shows duplicate data???
Your tableView always show the data which is there in its datasource :) SO if your tableView is showing duplicate cells that means you have duplicate entry in your data source :)
You are dealing with array, in future you might migrate to coredata :)
Understand one thing, when you enter or add a entry to your data source if you dont want to show duplicates you will have to handle it explicitly.

From your code I beilieve info(username) value is unique per object. So before blindly adding response to textArray check if text array already consists that object if yes then dont add it again :)

Adding checkbox functionality to to-do app with Parse backend

I'm having some trouble figuring out of how make the connection between my app and Parse when a user completes a task in my to-do app. I have created the PFObject for it and I have connected the label up and that works great but I am trying to figure out how to work with Bools in Parse.

"checked" is the class instance of CheckBox (all of the brains of the button/checkbox) and "isChecked" is a Bool with a didSet property that changes the checkbox to checked or unchecked based on whether the button is tapped.
The checkbox works great in the app, it just doesn't sync that action.

Parse, iOS, includeKey query does not retrieve attribute of pointer object

I'm quite new to working with Parse and I'm building a todo list as part of a CRM. Each task in the table view shows the description, due date, and client name. The description and due date are in my Task class, as well as a pointer to the Deal class. Client is a string in the Deal class. I'm able to query the description and due date properly, but I am not able to retrieve the client attribute from within the Deal object by using includeKey. I followed the Parse documentation for includeKey.
The description and due date show up properly in the resulting table view, but not the client. The log shows client label: nil and the printed task details include <Deal: 0x7ff033d1ed40, objectId: HffKOiJrTq>, but nothing about the client attribute. How can I retrieve and assign the pointer object's attribute (client) to my label within the table view? My relevant code is below. Thank you in advance.

If the deal column is a pointer then includeKey("deal") will get that object and populate it's properties for you. There is no need to perform a fetch of any type on top of that.
You really should be using Optionals properly though:

Alternatively you can replace the last if let with a line like this, which handles empty values and uses a default:

In your posted cellForRowAtIndexPath code you are trying to read client from the task instead of from the deal: task["client"] as? String.

UITableView and Parse Data

I am having issues setting with Parse data and a UITableView. Everytime I run the application, whether on the simulator or my phone, the app stops working and the only thing the console shows is (lldb). When checking the debugger, only following two lines of code are highlighted.

Aren't you missing an s in:

Should be:
if let objects = objects as? [PFObject!]
{

self.timelineData.addObject(object)
}

Hey Buddy I got you on this one. I had the same issues but I got help and got it figured out.
This is your Load Function
Try this
func loadData(){
timelineData.removeAll(keepCapacity: false)
var findTimelineData:PFQuery = PFQuery(className:"Sweets")
findTimelineData.findObjectsInBackgroundWithBlock
{
(objects:[AnyObject]! , error:NSError!) -> Void in
if error == nil
{
self.timelineData = objects.reverse() as [PFObject]
//let array:NSArray = self.timelineData.reverseObjectEnumerator().allObjects
println(objects)
// self.timelineData = array as NSMutableArray
self.tableView.reloadData()
}
}
}
Then go to your
override func tableView(tableView: UITableView, cellForRowAtIndexPath indexPath: NSIndexPath) -> UITableViewCell
And change
let sweet:PFObject = self.timelineData.objectAtIndex(indexPath.row) as PFObject
To This
let sweet: PFObject = self.timelineData[indexPath.row] as PFObject
Whats going on is you are mixing some Obj C with Swift , the code you are following was probably written in Beta so make sure you go back and learn the differences. If you are still having problems check all your conditions if(error != nil) should not be in your code.
