How to load XML file on iPhone using Unity? - ios

I want to load XML files to generate levels of my game but on iPhone (or Android) it crash but on the editor it works fine.
Here is how I try to load my XML:
XmlDocument xml = new XmlDocument();
xml.Load("Assets/XML/level1.xml");
level_root_node = xml.DocumentElement;
Please someone have already solved similar issues ? I've tried to put my XMLs into "Assets/Resources/XML/level1.xml" but it doesn't work better.

The reason it fails is that on Android the resources are inside the APK file and can't be access directly as you are attempting.

You can use Resources.Load (path) to access a resource in a platform independent way.
Using Resources.Load() to load your XML asset, convert this to a string and pass it to the XMLDocument for parsing:
TextAsset textAsset = Resources.Load ("XML/level1.xml") as TextAsset;
xml.LoadXml(textAsset.text);
level_root_node = xml.DocumentElement;

IOS Xamarin can't read XML File

So I've search everywhere. Xamarin Docs, goggle, here, W3.
All I need to do is store some small data in an XML file.
I created the XML, got the code lined up and when i go to build it.
IOS.....Can't find file.
I've googled the answer countless times, and they all say the same thing, Make sure it is set as Content or make sure it is "Embedded Resource" I've tried it both ways, It can't find the file to access it. Is IOS really that stupid? No issues in Android, took it 30 secs. Add it to the Assets and boom there it is.
But How to get IOS to Recognize xml file(find it)?

XDocuent doc = new XDocument.Load("StoredLogs.xml") <that line is where it throws the error, through all the break points that it is.
After this it steps through a loop to bind the data in the xml to an object
Logs a.Id = x.Element("Id).Value......
a.name......... and so

When you add the XML file as an EmbeddedResource, you need to read it from the assembly instead of the path
For example:

How do I save the origin html file with Apache Nutch

I'm new to search engines and web crawlers. Now I want to store all the original pages in a particular web site as html files, but with Apache Nutch I can only get the binary database files. How do I get the original html files with Nutch?
Does Nutch support it? If not, what other tools can I use to achieve my goal.(The tools that support distributed crawling are better.)
Well, nutch will write the crawled data in binary form so if if you want that to be saved in html format, you will have to modify the code. (this will be painful if you are new to nutch).
If you want quick and easy solution for getting html pages:
If the list of pages/urls that you intend to have is quite low, then better get it done with a script which invokes wget for each url.
OR use HTTrack tool.
EDIT:
Writing a your own nutch plugin will be great. Your problem will get solved plus you can contribute to nutch by submitting your work !!! If you are new to nutch (in terms of code & design), then you will have to invest lot of time building a new plugin ... else its easy to do.

Start with Fetcher.java. See lines 647-648. That is the place where you can get the fetched content on per url basis (for those pages which got fetched successfully).

You should add code right after this to invoke your plugin. Pass content object to it. By now, you would have guessed that content.getContent() is the content for url you want. When you are able to run, open Fetcher.java and add the lines between "content saver" command lines.

It is possible to post process the data from your crawldb segment folder, and read in the html (including other data nutch has stored) directly.

After you finish ruunning nutch in eclipse edit file FetcherReducer.java , add this code to the output method, run ant eclipse again to rebuild the class
Finally the raw html will added to reportUrl column in your database

If you add the XML file to a Visual Studio project and, in the Property window for it, select Build Action: Embedded resource, the file will be embedded into the build output artifact for that project.
To access it from code, use something like:

It's unclear what you mean by "want to modify the contents" - you cannot modify the resource inside the assembly at run-time, but whenever you change the XML file and recompile, the new version will be embedded.

Loading a swf named in xml into a parent swf in Actionscript 3

OK, I have a situation where I use loadvars to load an xml file, which has the address of 2 swf's on the server. I can trace the xml items so know they are loading. So I'm trying to load the swf's but am running into problems. First problem, the swf always gives an error when I publish from flash, "TypeError: Error #2007: Parameter url must be non-null." as it can't find the mention of the xml file, as it's just being published. I'm not sure this affects the next issue which is the swf not loading when I try to load it like this:

How to write a simple .txt content processor in XNA?

I don't really understand how Content importer/processor works in XNA.
I need to read a text file (Content/levels/level1.txt) of the form:
x x
x x
x x
where x's are just integers, into an int[,] array.
Any tips on writting a SIMPLE .txt importer??? By searching google/msdn I only found .x/.fbx file importer examples. And they seem too complicated.
Do you actually need to process the text file? If not, then you can probably skip most of the content pipeline.
Something like:

Also, be sure to set the "Build Action" to "None" and the "Copy to Output Directory" to "Copy if newer" on the text files you've added. This tells the content pipeline not to compile the text file but rather copy it to the output directory for use as is.
I got this (more or less) from the RacingGame sample provided by Microsoft. It foregoes much of the content pipeline and simply loads and processes text files (XML) for much of its level data.

There doesn't seem to be a lot of info out there, but this blog post does indicate how you can load .txt files through code using XNA.
Hopefully this can help you get the file into memory, from there it should be straightforward to parse it in any way you like.
