Is it possible to avoid tooltip text from going behind title? - highcharts

In one of my Highcharts, there is a large tooltip text, on mouseover, half of the text goes behind the title of the highchart.
Is there any way to avoid this ?

treemap can't render box when containing text that is too large

When creating a treemap structure with boxes, boxes with a text that is larger than the box itself are not drawn.
Below the same treemap is show twice: once with text, once without text.

How do I prevent this from happening?
I'm pretty sure this can't be prevented. The reason is that the box sizes have hard constraints on their sizes (the size is as meaningful as the height of a bar in a bar chart), so they can't grow with the size of the enclosed text.
To fix this you could generate shorter labels (removing all the vowls and truncating them) and showing the full label as a tooltip? Or you could have a box with a label in it on the side which contains the currently hovered box?

Highcharts Get legend "icon" in tooltip

Is there any way to get the legend "icon" in tooltip? I need to show the legend "icon" in the tooltip so i can identify what series I'm referring to.
I'll try to explain it better.
When you create a chart, in the legend, next to the name of the series, there is a "mini" line, that represent the line of the series, the color, and the style.
That what I need to show in the tooltip.
I'm not referring to the dot marker but the small lines that appears in the legend.
Is that possible?
Edit:
I'm using the formatter that the tooltip api provides. There I have a reference of the point that I'm hovering on, and all the data associated to that point.
I can get the value, the chart, the series, the series to which it belongs, que point marker, almost everything.
But I can't figure how to get the little coloured line that appears next to every series name in the legend.
I guess is as simple as get one of the values that appears in the point data, but I don't know what I should look for, there are a lot of properties.
I found a solution.
You can look for the point.series.legendLine.
There you have all the info required for the legend svg, even you can get the outerHTML and paste directly to show the legend icon.

Google charts: is it possible to display tooltips when hovering areas in stacked area chart?

I have a stacked area chart using google charts. An example is here: https://code.google.com/apis/ajax/playground/?type=visualization#area_chart
The problem is, when I hover the cursor over an area, no tooltip is displayed. I need to hover the boundary of two neighboring areas to display the tooltip.
Is it possible to display tooltips when hovering areas? If not, do you know of some workaround?
You can use a SteppedAreaChart for this. Set isStacked to true, and by default the tooltips will be shown on hovering over an area.
No, you can't spawn the tooltips by hovering over the area. There is no way easy way to work around this, as the Visualization API does not trigger mouse events on the areas.
If you want to put the effort into this, you can create custom mouse event handlers on the chart's SVG/VML code. It might be possible to extrapolate which area the mouse is in, and given that, you can extrapolate the x-axis position from the mouse coordinates using the ChartLayoutInterface, and spawn a custom tooltip based on that information. Be aware that any solution involving the chart's SVG/VML code could break at any time, as the internal structure of the charts is not guaranteed to be stable from version to version.

HighCharts: SVG outside plot area

I am designing an HighCharts bubble chart (a matrix with coloured fields, drawn using SVG), that should have some text explaining the axis values outside of the actual chart area.
That is, because the axis values are A-E and need a lengthy explanation (A = Always exceeds goals bla bla etc.).
These explanations should be visible - next to the chart, not in it, and not in tooltips because these cannot be printed.
My question: Can I put SVG <text/> outside of the plot area? HighCharts seems to stretch the plot area as far as it can, leaving no space to either side.
You can use text text and define css styles i.e: position:absolute;left:20px;top:20px;

How to add negative area or background for a specific bar or pie chart in highcharts?

Using highcharts, how would I put a default grey bar under my column charts, for example, like this?
And how would I do something similar for a pie chart (if my data takes up 30% of the chart, show the remaining 70% as light grey or something similar to denote unused space of the pie chart)
For the Pie chart there has been a bit of a back and forth in the highcharts forums. What I would do is get all of your data you need to plot and find out what percentage of the total all of that data is. Then, with the remaining percentage create another data point and set its color to grey.
But you really have to consider what is the total percentage means - without further detail I cannot begin to guess.
As for the first question about "default grey bar under my column charts" it is not clear from that link what you mean. I do not really see what you mean with the charts I have looked at.
