Is there any way to edit a UITextField with dictation only? - ios

I mean I do not want to use a keyboard. I have a button that I want the user to press that will trigger the microphone and input speech into the textField.
I've searched everywhere for tutorials on how to do this; I'm not finding anything. Is it impossible?

Programmatically "tap" the Microphone key on the iOS keyboard [duplicate]

I'd like to programmatically put my UITextField input into dictation mode, without requiring the user to bring up and select dictation from the keyboard. Searched the API documentation but can find no solution. Any ideas?
This is currently not possible on iOS.
The only place where it is kind of possible is in an app using WatchKit. In WKInterfaceController you can actually use presentTextInputControllerWithSuggestions with nil as parameter which starts dictation input immediately.
Yes
With iOS 10 Apple added SFSpeechRecognizer which allows for starting speech recognition without user interaction.
You have to implement SFSpeechRecognizer, use Accelerate framework to get mic sound level floats and make an animated view yourself. It will look cooler!
Sorry for not providing the code, I think i lost it. Can’t find it on my multiple hard drives :/

Adding Voice Dictation (microphone) to ToolBar

What i am trying to do is:
Add one button (Microphone image) in toolbar.
On click of that button, the iOS default voice dictation should get call.
Query: I assume that we can not call default voice dictation but want to confirm.
Is their any workaround or any approach to call voice dictation on click of button in toolbar?
(The query is that dictation button (Mic) get display in keyboard
(for textfield & textview)& on click of that button(Mic) dictation
functionality comes to play, can we add similar button (like Mic) to
toolbar (for textfield & textview) & on click of button dictation
functionality should comes to play.)
Thanks
Dictation is only possible in a text field, and can thus only be started from the keyboard (afaik). It is also not supported for all languages, so it depends on what keyboard is active.
Those buttons are usually seen in chat apps, where they record an audio clip without translating it to text.

How to handle keyboard mic button event on iPhone

I have this UISearchBar sits on top of self.view. With the default keyboard shown when it became first responder, I wonder if there's any way to pick up a touch event of the microphone button. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
You are viewing this microphone icon because your iPhone dictation is switched on under Settings>General>Keyboard>Dictation or Settings-->General-->Siri.
I think you can use text input mode to identify which input mode is currently going on.

Can I create a button that starts Voice Dictation mode in iOS?

I understand this is a bad idea (to show a voice dictation button in the app when it's already on the keyboard when it's available). But I have a client who would really like to have a microphone icon in a text field that would enter voice dictation mode when pressed.
Note, I am talking about the standard OS voice dictation mode (that the keyboard controls).
So the basic question is:
Can I tell the keyboard to enter voice dictation mode?
(my guess is that it's not allowed, but I would love something more "official" than my gut)
This wouldn't be possible unless you were to jailbreak your device. There would be little reason for Apple to offer a public API to do this, because any time you would be able to invoke it is when the keyboard is showing anyway, which would contain the button to activate it.
