I am developing a client application in ios. In this application i need to get service data from a web service, this service will only accessable for active directory users but not for anonymous users.How can i access and fetch data from that web service using active directory users credentials.
Thanks in advance
In this case you have to pass user credentials while hitting web services.
NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString: [NSString stringWithFormat:#"Ur URL"]];
NSString *userPasswordString = [NSString stringWithFormat:#"%#:%#",username,password];
NSData * userPasswordData = [userPasswordString dataUsingEncoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding];
NSString *base64EncodedCredential = [userPasswordData base64EncodedStringWithOptions:0];
NSString *authString = [NSString stringWithFormat:#"Basic %#", base64EncodedCredential];
NSMutableURLRequest *req = [NSMutableURLRequest requestWithURL:url];
NSString *msgLength =[NSString stringWithFormat:#"%lu", (unsigned long)[poststr length]];
[req addValue:#"text/xml; charset=utf-8" forHTTPHeaderField:#"Content-Type"];
[req addValue:[NSString stringWithFormat:#"http://www.hello.com"] forHTTPHeaderField:#"SOAPAction"];
[req addValue:authString forHTTPHeaderField:#"Authorization"];
[req addValue:msgLength forHTTPHeaderField:#"Content-Length"];
[req setHTTPMethod:#"POST"];
[req setHTTPBody: [poststr dataUsingEncoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding]];
[NSURLConnection sendAsynchronousRequest:req queue:[NSOperationQueue currentQueue] completionHandler:^(NSURLResponse *response, NSData *data, NSError *error)
{
// NSError *error1;
}];

I am trying to post some values to my web service which is working for android version nicely and for iOS it works for about 12 requests then it stops sending. What am i doing wrong?
I am sending about 1 per second.
-(void) PostDataToServer:(NSMutableArray*) value
{
NSString *xValue = [NSString stringWithFormat:#"%#", [value objectAtIndex:0]];
NSString *yValue = [NSString stringWithFormat:#"%#", [value objectAtIndex:1]];
NSString *jsonRequest = [NSString stringWithFormat:#"{\"person\":\"%#\",\"x\":\"%#\",\"y\":\"%#\",\"z\":\"%#\"}",#"1",xValue ,yValue ,#"0.0"];
NSLog(#"Request: %#", jsonRequest);
NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString:#"mywebserviceURL"];
request = [[NSMutableURLRequest alloc] initWithURL:url];
NSData *requestData = [NSData dataWithBytes:[jsonRequest UTF8String] length:[jsonRequest length]];
[request setHTTPMethod:#"POST"];
[request setValue:#"application/json" forHTTPHeaderField:#"Content-Type"];
[request setValue:[NSString stringWithFormat:#"%d", [requestData length]] forHTTPHeaderField:#"Content-Length"];
[request setHTTPBody: requestData];
NSData *urlData= connection= [NSURLConnection connectionWithRequest:request delegate:self];
NSLog(urlData);
I am trying to post data to WCF service from iPhone Application but somehow service doesn't seems to be call through the iPhone. I received a Status Code = 999.
NSString *urlString = #"http://192.168.1.192/MSservice/SecureRegistration";
NSURL *URL = [NSURL URLWithString:
[urlString stringByAddingPercentEscapesUsingEncoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding]];
NSString *postData = [bodyData stringByAddingPercentEscapesUsingEncoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding];
NSString *postLength = [NSString stringWithFormat:#"%lu",(unsigned long)[postData length]];
NSMutableURLRequest *request = [NSMutableURLRequest requestWithURL:URL];
[request setValue:#"gzip" forHTTPHeaderField:#"Accept-Encoding"];
[request setHTTPMethod:#"POST"];
[request setValue:postLength forHTTPHeaderField:#"Content-Length"];
[request setValue:#"application/x-www-form-urlencoded" forHTTPHeaderField:#"Current-Type"];
[request setHTTPBody:[postData dataUsingEncoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding]];
NSError *errorReturned = nil;
NSURLResponse *theResponse =[[NSURLResponse alloc]init];
NSData *data = [NSURLConnection sendSynchronousRequest:request returningResponse:&theResponse error:&errorReturned];
if (errorReturned)
{
NSLog(#"Error %#", errorReturned.localizedDescription);
}
else
{
NSLog(#"Data %#", data);
NSString *responseString=[[NSString alloc] initWithData:data encoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding];
NSLog(#"Response %#", responseString);
}
I have been searching over the internet about the right configuration to send a POST to my server using HTTPS, some web pages say i need NSURLCredential and others say:
Just use a #"https://www.myhttpsite.com/" URL and it should work the same way as normal HTTP urls.
So, how is the right way? i need to send credentials of users from my iOS app to my server to authenticate them, so i need to protect this credentials with the HTTPS.
My server already works fine with the HTTPS using internet browsers.
So far what i have is this:
NSString *user = #"user";
NSString *pass = #"pass";
NSString *postData = [NSString stringWithFormat:#"user=%#&pass=%#", user, pass];
NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString:#"https://myserver.com"];
NSMutableURLRequest *request = [NSMutableURLRequest requestWithURL:url];
request.HTTPMethod = #"POST";
request.HTTPBody = [postData dataUsingEncoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding];
[NSURLConnection sendAsynchronousRequest:request queue:[NSOperationQueue mainQueue] completionHandler:^(NSURLResponse *response, NSData *data, NSError *connectionError) {
NSString *strData = [[NSString alloc]initWithData:data encoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding];
NSLog(#"data %#", strData);
}];
Found this to be a good example, why don't you try it out?
NSString *urlstring =[[NSString alloc] initWithFormat:#"userName=%#&password=%#",userName.text,password.text];
NSURL *url=[NSURL URLWithString:#"https://www.example.com/mobile/Login.php"];
NSData *postData = [urlstring dataUsingEncoding:NSASCIIStringEncoding allowLossyConversion:YES];
NSString *postLength = [NSString stringWithFormat:#"%d", [postData length]];
NSMutableURLRequest *request = [[NSMutableURLRequest alloc] init];
[request setURL:url];
[request setHTTPMethod:#"POST"];
[request setValue:postLength forHTTPHeaderField:#"Content-Length"];
[request setValue:#"application/x-www-form-urlencoded" forHTTPHeaderField:#"Content-Type"];
[request setHTTPBody:postData];
[NSURLRequest setAllowsAnyHTTPSCertificate:YES forHost:[url host]];
NSError *error;
NSURLResponse *resp;
NSData *urlData=[NSURLConnection sendSynchronousRequest:request returningResponse:&resp error:&error];
NSString *data=[[NSString alloc]initWithData:urlData encoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding];
I have one text field I need to send two data's to API.
NSString *post =[NSString stringWithFormat:#"val1=%#,val2=%#",[[NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults] objectForKey:#"val1"],val2];
NSData *postData = [post dataUsingEncoding:NSASCIIStringEncoding allowLossyConversion:YES];
NSString *postLength = [NSString stringWithFormat:#"%d", [postData length]];
NSMutableURLRequest *request = [[NSMutableURLRequest alloc] init];
[request setURL:[NSURL URLWithString:#"http://api.test.com/send"]];
[request setHTTPMethod:#"POST"];
[request setValue:postLength forHTTPHeaderField:#"Content-Length"];
[request setValue:#"application/x-www-form-urlencoded" forHTTPHeaderField:#"Content-Type"];
[request setHTTPBody:postData];
NSError *error;
NSURLResponse *response;
NSData *urlData=[NSURLConnection sendSynchronousRequest:request returningResponse:&response error:&error];
NSString *str=[[NSString alloc]initWithData:urlData encoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding];
NSLog(#"log%#",str);
}
I need to send only raw data to API this is my code.Please check and let me know thanks
NSData *postData = [someStringToPost dataUsingEncoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding];
NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString:someURLString];
NSMutableURLRequest *request = [NSMutableURLRequest requestWithURL:url];
[request setHTTPMethod:#"POST"];
[request setValue:[NSString stringWithFormat:#"%d", postData.length] forHTTPHeaderField:#"Content-Length"];
[request setValue:#"application/x-www-form-urlencoded charset=utf-8" forHTTPHeaderField:#"Content-Type"];
[request setHTTPBody:postData];
NSError *error = nil;
NSHTTPURLResponse *response = nil;
NSData *retData = [NSURLConnection sendSynchronousRequest:req returningResponse:&response error:&error];
if (error)
{
//error
}
else
{
//no error
}
Try this
Have you tried converting it to NSData and sending that?
Here's the conversion:
NSData *data = [NSKeyedArchiver archivedDataWithRootObject:array];
That will give you the data in bytes, then just pass it in with the normal networking function calls.
I am sending data to the php file on the server using post using following code
NSString *post =[[NSString alloc] initWithFormat:#"UserName=%#&UserPassword=%#",appDelegate.userName,appDelegate.userPassword];
NSLog(#"post is %#",post);
NSURL *url=[NSURL URLWithString:#"http://ec2-50-94-162-129.compute-1.amazonaws.com/usercredential.php?"];
NSLog(#"URL is %#",url);
NSData *postData = [post dataUsingEncoding:NSASCIIStringEncoding allowLossyConversion:YES];
NSString *postLength = [NSString stringWithFormat:#"%d", [postData length]];
NSMutableURLRequest *request = [[NSMutableURLRequest alloc] init] ;
[request setURL:url];
[request setHTTPMethod:#"POST"];
[request setValue:postLength forHTTPHeaderField:#"Content-Length"];
[request setValue:#"application/x-www-form-urlencoded" forHTTPHeaderField:#"Content-Type"];
[request setHTTPBody:postData];
NSError *error;
NSURLResponse *response;
NSData *urlData=[NSURLConnection sendSynchronousRequest:request returningResponse:&response error:&error];
NSString *data=[[NSString alloc]initWithData:urlData encoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding];
NSLog(#"%#",data);
data = [data stringByTrimmingCharactersInSet:[NSCharacterSet whitespaceAndNewlineCharacterSet]];
NSLog(#"%#",data);
This shows login Failed if I access directly file from browser and provide userNAme in address then it works fine it does not work from iPhone app
