In my iOS app, I'm using Pinterest's PINRemoteImage library to download images of Facebook pages, and I set the download property setUpdateWithProgress to true, so it will support it. But I see that every image shows up only when the download was completed.
Does anyone have a clue how to solve it? Do I need to add something to the URL?
This is the kind of URL that I use:
http://graph.facebook.com/<PAGE_ID>/picture?width=<WIDTH>&height=<HEIGHT>
The property updateWithProgress has been deprecated. You should use the property pin_updateWithProgress.

I need to show a preview of a URL (like FB and WhatsApp do), while the user is entering a link in a UITextView.
Is there a library on iOS to grab it, or do we have to make our own?
Thanks in advance.
iOS does not provide this functionality by default.
You will have to build your own or use an open source solution.
This project might provide what you need:

I'm creating an iOS app by swift that is as same as the AliExpress iOS app.
This App has ability that connect to our site and download all of data from JSON api online.
Now, I wanna download the images of the icons and banner slider from our site by JSON api in main page. But I don't know how i can do it. Do I use queues or background functions like in android? Also, I'm an android developer and i know how i can do this in android. You can guide me by this way ,too. please guide me by sample codes or description of its logic.

Apple documentation can be found on following link
https://developer.apple.com/library/prerelease/ios/documentation/Foundation/Reference/NSURLSession_class/
Swift example can be found here
http://jamesonquave.com/blog/making-a-post-request-in-swift/
I have also created a demo for the same
https://github.com/Gagan5278/SessionDownload
Let me know if you want more on this.
You have the seed of your answer in the title of your question. You want to create an NSURLSession and add NSURLDownloadTasks to it. That class does all the work for you.
A quick search on Github reveals this repository that claims to offer an async download queue in Swift:
https://github.com/Gurpartap/Cheapjack
(I haven't used that one. You can either build it into your project or look at the code and use it to implement your own download sessions.)
There is also AlamoFire, another swift library that has built-in JSON support.
I want to show my app when user try to share Image from Photo gallery. How can i show my app in that list?
I tried with public.image as content type but not working for me.
Thanks,
You have to create a share extension for your application. For detailed info you can check the official apple documentation for extensions https://developer.apple.com/library/ios/documentation/General/Conceptual/ExtensibilityPG/index.html
You can use UIActivityViewController to share the images and data.
If you want to see tutorial please refer following link.
UIActivityViewController
I'm fighting with UIActivityViewController in iOS 8. I'd built a custom Pinterest sharing mechanism which works beautifully in iOS 7 -- specifically, it uploads an image to my server, and then creates a Pin with that image and a URL which I specify. This is the desired functionality.
Now, in iOS 8, Pinterest has implemented its own sharer, which accepts either a URL or an image. If a URL is included in the list of Activity Items, the sharer pops up and asks the user which image s/he wants to share from the page at that URL, and totally ignores the image which is also in the list of Activity Items. If there's no URL, and just the image, then the uploaded pin doesn't include a URL.
In order to resolve this, I need to do one of these things:
Disallow Pinterest's sharer from appearing in the list, so my customized sharer can show up instead;
Somehow specify a Source URL within a pin of an image using Pinterest's sharer (I doubt this is possible);
Remove all the other images from the generated web page. I'd really rather not do this.
Or if all else fails, it would be useful to at least be able to detect if the user has Pinterest's sharer selected to show up in their list.
Does anyone know if there's a way to achieve any of these things?
Just an idea, you could set a custom UIActivitySource on your UIActivityViewController.
Then check the incoming activity type for Pinterest. Then disable that via the exclusions.
I wish to fetch images from Instagram into iOS app. For this I am using Instagram API. I have set clientID and redirect-uri as shown in http://kmdarshan.wordpress.com/2013/02/23/integrating-instagram-sdk-in-your-ios-apps/ and http://instagram.com/developer/
Code used is given in link above. But in the line:
if ([[UrlParts objectAtIndex:(1)] isEqualToString:#"NeverGonnaFindMe"]) {...
the string always equals to oauth.
Where am I getting wrong? Anyone having any other option to integrate instagram images into iOS apps, please let me know.
I just found a project to fetch instagram images into ios app on:
https://github.com/hsandhu/HSInstagram
Awesome application, saved my time.
you can try this framework to show the instagram feed, both user and tags
https://www.cocoacontrols.com/controls/sbinstagram-viewer
is more complete and is easy to integrate
