I know this is very basic, but not able to debug the problem. This is my Podfile.

Go to the project folder and create a new file with the name Podfile
Open pod file and enter the config below - Change "My Project" to your project name.

Pod installation complete! There is 1 dependency from the Podfile and 1 total pod installed.
After trying many things Here is the fix!!
Imp: Make sure that you have these lines in your PodFile
source 'https://github.com/CocoaPods/Specs.git'
platform :ios, '8.0'
target 'YOUR_APPLICATION_TARGET_NAME_HERE' do
pod 'GoogleMaps'
end
If the above is fine then you need to update the pods:
try the following steps:
Open a new terminal and run the following command in a temp directory.
pod try GoogleMaps
keep patience! It will take some time but will update the pod.
Now try to install the pod in ur project again. It should work.Else try to run the following commands in the project dir:
pod repo update
try again.

Error running pod install
Error launching application on iPhone 13.
I have tried:
1- Go to Podfile and changed "platform :ios, '8.0'" to 9.0 and 10.0
2- flutter clean > flutter pub get
3- I deleted pod and run pod install
4- Also run this commands:
arch -x86_64 pod update
arch -x86_64 pod install --repo-update
But still getting same error. Any help how to fix this?
I solved the issue.
Problem was in 'main.dart'. I changed 'main' function from this:
void main() async {
WidgetsFlutterBinding.ensureInitialized();
await Firebase.initializeApp();
runApp(MyApp());
}
to this:
void main() async {
WidgetsFlutterBinding.ensureInitialized();
await Firebase.initializeApp(
options: DefaultFirebaseOptions.currentPlatform,
);
runApp(MyApp());
}
So, I think options parameter on Firebase.initializeApp() is required now.
Adding options with FlutterFire CLI solved my problem.
Also, here documentation for this:
https://firebase.flutter.dev/docs/cli
I found another solution that worked for me. I think the problem stems from the default cocoapods install, as instructed on the cocoapods front page, has some M1 incompatibilities with its FFI (foreign function interface).
Installing cocoapods via homebrew instead, ensures that you are getting an apple silicon compatible version.
These instructions worked for me.
But it boils down to uninstalling cocoapods and reinstalling it via homebrew:
brew install cocoapods
1- sudo arch -x86_64 gem install ffi
2- arch -x86_64 pod install
The newer versions of firebase requires some updating and this is what worked for me
updated firebase on pubspec to latest version then ran the following
firebase login
dart pub global activate flutterfire_cli
flutterfire configure
deleted outdated Podfile.lock file
rm ios/Podfile.lock
updated the Podfile
pod repo update
build the project
flutter build ios
try this combination:
remove .symlinks && /Pods && podfile.lock
pod deintegrate
pod repo update
pod install
Try run it!
I've searched a lot but unfortunately I didn't find a solution.
For my flutter project I added the Firebase plug in in the pubspec.yaml file and since then I wasn't able to run the project on my iPhone anymore.
It says: Exception: Error running pod install
What I tried so far:
deleting the podfile and run pod install --repo-update but it didn't work.
Can someone PLEASE help me? Thank you so much!
This is what my terminal shows when I try to run the project:
lib/main.dart:1

Exception: Error running pod install
Exited (sigterm)
On M1 macs, this is a known issue. Here's what you should do.
Run this command (need to be run only first time)
sudo arch -x86_64 gem install ffi
Install your pods like this.
arch -x86_64 pod install
Going forward, you need to run only the second command for pod install.
Source 1 : Got error while trying pod install #10220
Source 2 : pod install /w m1 macbook #10518
If you don't want to have to remember to include arch -x86_64 every time you run pod install, I found an alternative answer in Apple's forums that worked for me:
Uninstall CocoaPods (if installed by gem)
$ [sudo] gem uninstall cocoapods # use sudo if cocoapods was installed using sudo
Install CocoaPods using Homebrew
$ brew install cocoapods
Install pods using the normal command!
$ pod install
Installing pods worked like a charm with the Homebrew version of CocoaPods!
This answer may not be for everyone; CocoaPods' site doesn't officially recommend using Homebrew to install, and not everyone uses Homebrew. But I like Homebrew, and I found this a lot easier than having to change my command for installing pods. Credit to treekie_ for this answer originally, but sharing here in case others find this first.
run this code on the terminal
sudo arch -x86_64 gem install ffi
Next, go to the ios folder in your project, and open Podfile.
if there is a code like below:
#platform :ios, '9.0'
remove the # character and change the 9.0 to 10.0, and the final code should be as this
platform :ios, '10.0'
I finished my flutter app, and i want to test it in ios device, so i used a mac laptop and i did all the installations but when i did the command "flutter run" i got this error

Error running pod install

try this
rm ios/Podfile
flutter pub upgrade
flutter pub run
cd ios
pod init
pod update
flutter clean && flutter run
Flutter: Try this
Delete the Podfile, Podfile.lock, Pods folder, Runner.xcworkspace, Flutter.framwork(in ios/Flutter folder)
flutter clean
flutter build ios
For the m1 Mac I had a similar error for google mobile ads. The solution was that you have to download cocoa-pods from homebrew.
Follow The 2022 update: https://stackoverflow.com/a/65334677/16122154
The following works for me:
sudo arch -x86_64 gem install ffi
Trust me, I search for over 5 hours, tried every solution I cound find on internet. And only one work:
Delete the Podfile, Podfile.lock, Pods folder
flutter clean
cd ios
pod deintegrate ( this way pod will not reinstall the old libray )
cd ../
flutter run
Most of the solution don't include step 4, so that why even you clean and reinstall pod, it still behave the same.
If you are using Flutter, in your pubspec.yaml file make sure that your dependencies are installed below the cupertino icons line with correct indentation or it'll throw an error.

Make your day happy thanks buddy for the help...
MacOS catalina has permission issues on pre installed ruby and rails.
rbenv is best version control thing.
You need to install this tool by using terminal:
Open your terminal and type these commands:
ruby -e "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/master/install)"
And then run these commands:
brew install rbenv ruby-build
# Add rbenv to bash so that it loads every time you open a terminal
echo 'if which rbenv > /dev/null; then eval "$(rbenv init -)"; fi' >> ~/.zshrc
source ~/.zshrc
# Install Ruby
rbenv install 2.7.1
rbenv global 2.7.1
ruby -v
now install pods by going to your ios folder in flutter project
cd ios
pod install
That's it.
this is my Podfile
# Uncomment this line to define a global platform for your project

pod setup
still got this message in terminal
How to fix it? thank you very much!
You need to run this Sudo gem install cocoapods --pre
Please check this reported issue https://github.com/CocoaPods/CocoaPods/issues/7458
Check you xcodeproj gem version by the following:
gem list
If it is under 1.5.6, update it using:
gem update xcodeproj
After update is completed, you can remove the old version using:
gem uninstall xcodeproj
And select the old version.
Hope this will help!
If you are using xCode Version 9.4 and create new project you will find this issue,
to fix this issue change the project formate to xCode8.0- compatible
gem install cocoapods --pre --user
solved the issue for me
use these pods above of (# Pods for BandU)and save your file. Then again install and update your pod. it will work.
These are the correct framework use now:
pod 'Masonry'
pod 'SDWebImage'
pod 'Aliyun VideoCore'
pod 'AliyunOSSiOS'
pod 'VODUpload'
pod 'AFNetworking'
pod 'UMengUShare/Social/WeChat'
pod 'Toast'
pod 'UITextView+Placeholder'
Hope it will help you.
I'm trying to install Firebase via CocoaPods for my Objective-C iOS Application. My Podfile is as follows:
target 'RandomName' do
pod 'Firebase/Core'
pod 'Firebase/AdMob'
end
When I run pod install, I get the following error:
[!] Unable to satisfy the following requirements:
- `Firebase/Core` required by `Podfile`
None of your spec sources contain a spec satisfying the dependency: `Firebase/Core`.
You have either:
* out-of-date source repos which you can update with `pod repo update`.
* mistyped the name or version.
* not added the source repo that hosts the Podspec to your Podfile.
Note: as of CocoaPods 1.0, `pod repo update` does not happen on `pod install` by default.
The latest version of CocoaPods is installed, and I have tried running pod repo update. Having a Podfile of the following works fine, but when I try to #import Firebase; in my AppDelegate.m file, Xcode cannot find the module.
target 'RandomName' do
pod 'Firebase'
end
However, the following combination does not install:
target 'RandomName' do
pod 'Firebase'
pod 'Firebase/AdMob'
end
Any help would be appreciated!
Check what version of Firebase is installed when you use pod 'Firebase'. For me it installs 2.4.3 which is an old version. The docs say that the pod should install 3.2 using that pod. It explains why the other pods don't work as they are part of Firebase 3. Pod update doesn't update Firebase to the latest version either. Even forcing a version doesn't work. It can't seem to find the new Firebase versions even though they are in the same podspec.
Here is how I solved it:
make sure you have the latest version of git installed
make sure you have cocoapods >= 1.0.0 installed
delete your pods repo (run pod repo remove master) and use pod setup to make a new one
use the following in your pod file
pod 'Firebase/Auth'
pod 'Firebase/Database'
pod 'Firebase/Core'
(use whatever you want, just don't use 'Firebase')
pod install
everything should install properly
Running 'pod repo remove master' to remove the Pods repo //removes the library
Running 'pod setup' //clones the updated git repo for specs which takes long time as its size is beyond 300K (Be patient!)
Running 'pod install' //problem is solved
have you tried to add
frameworks
use_frameworks!
after target 'RandomName' line
and adding
platform :ios, '9.0'
before target ....
A couple of items to try. From your question, you did try the first two items, but leaving here for completeness of my answer.
The error response you get is helpful. Follow the steps for pod repo update
Make sure your pod is up to date.
pwd> pod --version
1.0.0
Make certain that your git is up to date. I had a build machine that had an outdated git (1.7), and I had the same exact error
-
When I updated to this version from git 1.7 it worked fine.
pwd> git --version
git version 2.8.1
My Podfile for using Firebase Dynamic Links
run pod init from the folder where your .xcodeproj is
Be sure to only launch the .xcworkspace instead of the .xcodeproj from here out.
platform :ios, '8.0'
use_frameworks!
target 'the-name-of-target' do
pod 'Firebase/DynamicLinks'
end
The Same problem occurred while on pod install command.
Please relaunch terminal and navigate to your Xcode project then
simply fire same pod install command. 'Firebase/Database' will installed successfully :)
I just doing following step to fix this error:
$pod setup -- verbose
Then do $pod install
that works for me and my pod file is:
source 'https://github.com/CocoaPods/Specs.git'
platform :ios, '8.0'
use_frameworks!
target 'the-name-of-target' do
pod 'Eureka', '~> 1.6'
end
UPDATE:
Then you can remove your master and re-install cocoapods using following code:
cd ~/.cocoapods/repos
rm -rf master
pod setup
I had the same error, and my solution was to downgrade Cocoapods to 1.0.0, because Cocoapods 1.0.1 didn't work as I expected. Everything works great now!
sudo gem uninstall cocoapods -v 1.0.1
sudo gem install cocoapods -v 1.0.0
My Podfile:
platform :ios, '8.0'
target 'XXX' do
pod 'Firebase/Auth'
pod 'Firebase/Database'
end
For people still having problems with this. When directly coping the firebase walkthourgh website, the install string is:
pod `Firebase/Core`
While it should have been:
pod 'Firebase/Core'
No need for pod setup if this applies to you too.
Update Git and Cocoapods to the last version:
Git: $ brew update && brew upgrade
Cocoapods: $ pod repo update
