After installing xcode7 beta5 I ran a simple project on simulator, but simulator showed an error:
The com.apple.CoreSimulator.SimRuntime.iOS-9-0 simulator runtime is not available.
Download the com.apple.CoreSimulator.SimRuntime.iOS-9-0 simulator runtime from the Downloads section in Xcode's Preferences.
But when I go to the preference download folder it's empty in components after check and install.
That is Network Problem. And don't use the beta version. Here is the Version 7.1 in AppStore.
You can download it and try again.

I getting the following error when I run the app into device.
This iPhone 7 (Model 1660, 1778, 1779, 1780) is running iOS 12.3.1 (16F203), which may not be supported by this version of Xcode.
my Xcode is 10.1
Your current version of Xcode does not support the iOS 12.3.1 version of the SDK.
There are a couple of options available:
Update Xcode to the latest version
Download a add the required device support files to your current version.
You can download the support files here or from the Apple Developer website. There is also instructions on where to place the files once downloaded
There may be problems with running your app on latest XCode version, but you can add supported devices to your current XCode's folder.
download version of required iOS from https://github.com/filsv/iPhoneOSDeviceSupport
Put it to Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport inside of XCode folder
Restart XCode
I have the same problem , and here is the solution worked for me
You should make a folder named 12.3 (... what is written in your error message) in Program/Xcode-beta/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platforms/DeviceSupport/ and copy the files from 12.2 in there.
Close xcode completely and reopen it.
Now you can run your apps on iOS 12.3.
Temporary solution for this change folder named 12.3.1.its working for me once we get 12.3.1 package content we will move corresponding place
You should update your XCode to support all listed devices.
For anyone who encounters this problem on Device with iOS 14 and Xcode 11.5 Version
_Download iOS 14.0 Zip from this link:
https://github.com/filsv/iPhoneOSDeviceSupport
_and past the folder to:
Xcode/Show Package Content/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport
_Quit and Restart both XCode and iPhone
_In XCode go to:
Window/Device and Simulator and Click on + Button
Select your device
Click Next and Click Done, and then build and run your XCode
Note: You can also clear your cache before the build and run your XCode
Hope this helps who faces this problem, cheers.
I have a MacBook with El Capitan installed on it. I cannot upgrade to sierra! Because of that, I cannot install XCode 8.3.
Now I need to test an App with iOS 10.3 but I cannot build it with XCode 8.2.1 for iOS 10.3. I have an pyhsical device with iOS 10.3 but XCode wont let me run it on that device.
What to do now?
Doing so is still possible with this simple workaround:
Download the latest Xcode
Right click on the downloaded Xcode.app, select Show Package Contents. Navigate to Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport subfolder
Move the 10.3 folder to the identical location in your local Xcode 8.2.1 installation
Don't get disappointed. There is one way.
If you have access any of the mac that is running the latest xcode and up to date simulators, then navigate to this directory copy the simulators you need and past it on the same directory in your OSX.
You can then be able to run the app on the latest simulator and the updated physical device!
/Applications/Xcode8.3.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform
Unfortunately, you're out of luck. As this answer specifies, iOS 10.3 requires Xcode 8.3 or greater, which in turn requires macOS Sierra.
When I run my application using XCode 7.0. Everytime I am getting below error. How to fix this issue.
I am using Mac with 10.10.5 . I searched that 10.10.4 later supports XCode 7.0
Please suggest where I went wrong...!
Go to Xcode -> Preferences- Downloads tab.
Here you will be able to see list of simulator available for downloading.
Download the required simulator.
Restart Xcode
You will be able to run your project on simulator without any issue.
Okay so it seems like the run time components for the simulator are not installed with your version of Xcode (this may have happened when updating or downloading a beta and Xcode got confused).
Try do the Following: Xcode > Preferences > Downloads > Check and Install Now
That should Help, otherwise you can go to itunesconnect or anywhere on the web and download and add the simulator files manually.
I've been trying to install iOS simulators 8.3 & 8.4 on Xcode 6.3.2 an 6.4 beta respectively. In the first case is not even an option to download this simulator while in Xcode 6.4 it shows an error "Could not download and install iOS 8.3 Simulator. Authorization is required to install the packages". I've searched the web but I could not find anything so I tries reinstalling Xcode from Apple developer website as well as from the app store with no change at all. The only simulator I can use is 8.2. I cannot install any other version. Any help would be really appreciated.
This is the error on Xcode 6.4 with no additional option of iOS 8.4 Simulator
These are the simulator options for me to download which result in that error
These are my options in Xcode 6.3.2 with no option for iOS 8.3
I found a workaround on the Apple forums. If you run Xcode using sudo the simulator downloads and installs work just fine:
sudo /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/MacOS/Xcode
Note: Once the downloads and installs are complete you should quit Xcode and start it normally.
The iOS 8.3 Simulator runtime is includes in Xcode 6.3 (which is why it isn't offered as an additional download).
The iOS 8.3 Simulator runtime should be downloadable from Xcode 6.4, as you show. Your dialog box reports that there was an authentication problem when attempting to install the package. You need to provide administrator credentials when installing the package.
The reason you are getting your "iPhone 6 runs iOS 8.2 which is lower than -project name- minimum deployment target." errors is because you are selecting an iPhone 6 with iOS 8.2 on it and not an iPhone 6 with iOS 8.3 on it.
Use 'xcrun simctl create' or Xcode's Devices window to create the iOS 8.3 devices you need.
I have 2 machines. On one of them I updated to xcode 4.5, but doing so uninstalled my iOS simulator for 5.1.
I'm hesitant to update my other machine as I have a project that requires the 5.1 simulator.
Are my assumptions correct or did I do something to remove the older simulator without knowing?
You can redownload the simulator in the Xcode preferences.
Download Xcode 4.3.3 for lion and open the dmg, and click and show package contents, and copy the Contents\Developer\platforms\iPhoneOS.platform\sdks\iPhoneOs5.1sdk folders into your xcode4.5 Contents\Developer\platorms\iPhoneOS.platform\sdks folder, and it works
