I had a version of the Xcode I believe It was 6.1 with iOS SDK version 8.3.
Apple store showed that an Xcode update is available with SDK 8.4.
I updated Xcode and the new update version was 6.3.2.
I have a iPad with iOS 8.4 on it. so to run the app on it, I tried to set the Base SDK to 8.4. but, surprisingly It doesn't exists! I can only choose 8.3 with "Latest iOS" written beside it.
What can I do? And why the update said that the SDK version that is available is 8.4 since it didn't exists?!
In the updates page in Apple store app there is a list titled "Updates
Installed in the Last 30 Days" and the I have Xcode 6.4 and iOS 8.4
with it. while when I open the Xcode at the welcome page it says 6.3.2
and Base SDK is 8.3!!!

I can't update my app on the app store because it won't compile with SDK version 12.1.
Everytime I try to upload my app I get this message:
SDK Version Issue. This app was built with the iOS 11.2 SDK. All iOS apps submitted to the App Store must be built with the iOS 11 SDK or later, included in Xcode 9 or later. Further, starting March 2019, all iOS apps submitted to the App Store must be built with the iOS 12.1 SDK or later, included in Xcode 10.1 or later.
In my project settings Base SDK is set to ios 12.1
After reading other issues like this, I have also deleted xcode 9 from my computer. But still nothing is working.
Any idea what is forcing my app to compile with 11.2?
After uninstalling xcode 9, I had to re-install xcode 10.
I tried to run my app on a device running iOS 11.2 and received the following error:
Could not locate device supported files.
This iPhone 5s (Model A1457, A1518, A1528, A1530) is running iOS 11.2
(15C114), which may not be supported by this version of Xcode.
I have used iphone 5s(version 11.1.2) and I want to build my project from xcode 9.1(ios 11.1).
It seems that Apple released iOS 11.2 to the public without releasing Xcode 9.2 yet (the Mac App Store reports 9.1 as latest at the time of this writing), which includes the iOS 11.2 SDK necessary to target devices running iOS 11.2. You should be able to run this on your device with the Xcode 9.2 beta, which you can download from the developer download page if you have a developer account
EDIT: Xcode 9.2 is publicly available now, and you can download it from the Mac App Store
Xcode 9.2 has finally been released. You can update it from App Store or just download it here: https://download.developer.apple.com/Developer_Tools/Xcode_9.2/Xcode_9.2.xip
I have Xcode9.2 on my MacBook and 8 on my MacMini. So I just copied the 11.2 DeviceSupport DeveloperDiskImage .dmg and .signature from the MacBook to the MacMini. Worked fine.
For the rookies like me, if you get a message similar to this:
"This iPhone 6 is running iOS 11.2.X, which may not be supported by this version of Xcode."
It means you have to update Xcode.
I hit this problem when my phone was running 11.2.6 and I was running Xcode Version 9.0
You can update it from App Store or just download it here: https://download.developer.apple.com/Developer_Tools/Xcode_9.2/Xcode_9.2.xip
Get the device support file from here if latest available Device Support File
Any one having this kind of Error when your device OS version is updated and Your Xcode version is not.
Xcode - Version 9.1 (9B55)
Device Version - 11.3
Solution:
Find your friends who have latest Xcode 9.x
From following ways you can get device support files
Go to Finder and Search
/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport/
Right click on Xcode -> Show Package Contents then navigate to Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport/11.X
Copy the 11.X
Please note X - will be Versions
Also you can download from this link - https://github.com/filsv/iPhoneOSDeviceSupport/issues/7
After you get device supporting files, Add all the new version to yours Xcode DeviceSupport folder
Restart the Xcode and You are Ready to debug :)
I used Version 5.0 (5A1412), iphone 4 with ios 7.1 (11D169).
I use organizer to add device but xcode said "The version of iOS on “ducnm’s iPhone” is not supported by this installation of the iOS SDK. Please restore the device to a version of the OS listed below, or update to the latest version of the iOS SDK; which is available here."
Help me, please!
You need to install Xcode 5.1 to support iOS 7.1.
You can download it from the Mac AppStore app.
Update your Xcode to Xcode 5.1. check these link for available SDK's in Xcode 5.1
Everything was working fine, I then upgraded to 7.1 on one of my devices (iPad mini) now XCode won't recognise it.
I found this answer here
XCode 5.1 Beta 4 not recognizing iOS 7.1 Beta 4 test device
But when I go to the organiser it just says
The version of iOS on “Mini iPad” is not supported by this
installation of the iOS SDK. Please restore the device to a version of
the OS listed below, or update to the latest version of the iOS SDK;
which is available here
But when I go to the link it just take me to the main screen of the Apple developer program (not signed in for some odd reason, when I'm already signed in), then what do I do?
You need to upgrade to XCode 5.1. The final version has been released.
When you upgrade iOS, you always need to upgrade even Xcode to the last version. Just open the MacAppStore to see the update.
The last version of Xcode is Version 5.1 (5B130a)
I'm wondering if I can build and test my current project which is iOS SDK 4.3 based, to iPad 2 (iOS 5)? In Organizer - Devices it says:
The version of iOS on “my iPad” does not match any of the versions of iOS
supported for development with this installation of the iOS SDK. Please restore
the device to a version of the OS listed below, or update to the latest version
of the iOS SDK;
Can I build my project without updating to iOS SDK 5?
No, this isnt possible, you must upgrade to the lastest Xcode.
It is possible to have two versions of Xcode installed if you still want to hang onto the old one.
What is the reluctance to upgrade? Are you having compiling issues?
