Retrieve Facebook user ID in Swift - ios

I have a helper function that is grabbing the picture from a specific URL:
func getProfilePicture(fid: String) -> UIImage? {
if (fid != "") {
var imageURLString = "http://graph.facebook.com/" + fid + "/picture?type=large"
var imageURL = NSURL(string: imageURLString)
var imageData = NSData(contentsOfURL: imageURL!)
var image = UIImage(data: imageData!)
return image
}
return nil
}
I proceed to call getProfilePicture() with the user's Facebook ID, and store the output into a UIImageView. My question is, how can I find a Facebook user's ID? Do I request a connection through Facebook? It would be helpful if some code is provided here.
Thank you for your help.

If they are already successfully logged into your app:
FBSDKAccessToken.current().userID

What worked for me:
Use FBSDKLoginButtonDelegate
Implement func loginButtonWillLogin
Add notification to onProfileUpdated
In onProfileUpdated func proceed to get your Profile info
After onProfileUpdated is called, you can use your FBSDKProfile in any Controller
And now, some Swift 3 code...
import UIKit
import FBSDKLoginKit
class ViewController: UIViewController, FBSDKLoginButtonDelegate {
override func viewDidLoad() {
super.viewDidLoad()
// Facebook login integration
let logBtn = FBSDKLoginButton()
logBtn.center = self.view.center
self.view .addSubview(logBtn)
logBtn.delegate = self
}
func loginButtonWillLogin(_ loginButton: FBSDKLoginButton!) -> Bool {
print("will Log In")
FBSDKProfile.enableUpdates(onAccessTokenChange: true)
NotificationCenter.default.addObserver(self, selector: #selector(onProfileUpdated(notification:)), name:NSNotification.Name.FBSDKProfileDidChange, object: nil)
return true
}
func onProfileUpdated(notification: NSNotification)
{
print("profile updated")
print("\(FBSDKProfile.current().userID!)")
print("\(FBSDKProfile.current().firstName!)")
}
}

Issue with FB Login

Hellos developers,
who anyone can help me with one issue , I try to make a Facebook login and after that I want to go to another view.
But I can't make that happens, could some one can help me with that?
I put my code below:
import UIKit
import FBSDKLoginKit
import FBSDKCoreKit
class ViewController: UIViewController , LoginButtonDelegate{
func loginButton(_ loginButton: FBLoginButton, didCompleteWith result: LoginManagerLoginResult?,
error: Error?) {
loginButton.permissions = ["public_profile","email"]
if error != nil {
print("Something is Wrong... \(String(describing: error))")
return
}
print("Succesful loged in !")
}
func loginButtonDidLogOut(_ loginButton: FBLoginButton) {
loginButton.titleLabel?.text = "Adios"
print("GoodBye ")
}
override func viewDidLoad() {
super.viewDidLoad()
let loginButton = FBLoginButton()
loginButton.center = view.center
view.addSubview(loginButton)
loginButton.permissions = ["public_profile", "email"]
loginButton.addTarget(self, action: #selector(getUserFBInfo), for: .touchUpOutside)
}
#objc func getUserFBInfo(){
print("se logro ")
let token = AccessToken.current
if token == AccessToken.current {
performSegue(withIdentifier: "secondActivity", sender: self)
}else if token!.isExpired{
print("no sucede nada")
}
}
}
If you want the LoginButtonDelegate to call your delegate function (e.g. loginbutton:didCompleteWithResult:error:), remember to assign the delegate to the FBLoginButton.
In the above code, since the delegate is the UIViewController itself (not a must), you will need to add loginButton.delegate = self

Customize FUIAuthPickerViewController

How can I customize the Firebase UI Auth Picker controller with custom buttons, custom actions, background, loader etc..
I already try to subclass the FUIAuthPickerViewController but we can't access to login buttons
This is how you can create your own class of FUIAuthPickerViewController:
Create FUICustomLoginController.swift with:
import UIKit
import FirebaseUI
import FirebaseAuth
class FUICustomLoginController: ViewController {
var authUI: FUIAuth! = FUIAuth.defaultAuthUI()
var auth: Auth = Auth.auth()
private func didSignIn(auth: AuthCredential?, error: Error?, callBack: AuthResultCallback?) {
let callBack: (AuthDataResult?, Error?) -> Void = { [unowned self] result, error in
callBack?(result?.user, error)
self.authUI.delegate?.authUI?(self.authUI, didSignInWith: result, error: error)
}
if let auth = auth {
self.auth.signInAndRetrieveData(with: auth, completion: callBack)
} else if let error = error {
callBack(nil, error)
}
}
func signIn<T: FUIAuthProvider>(type: T.Type, defaultValue: String? = nil) {
try? self.authUI.signOut() // logout from google etc..
self.authUI.providers.first(where: { $0 is T })?.signIn(withDefaultValue: defaultValue, presenting: self, completion: self.didSignIn)
}
}
Subclass your controller from FUICustomLoginController:
class LoginPickerController: FUICustomLoginController {
override func viewDidLoad() {
super.viewDidLoad()
// Customize authUI if needed
//self.authUI.providers = ...
self.authUI.delegate = self
}
#IBAction func loginFacebook(_ sender: Any) {
self.signIn(type: FUIFacebookAuth.self)
}
#IBAction func loginGoogle(_ sender: Any) {
self.signIn(type: FUIGoogleAuth.self)
}
#IBAction func loginPhone(_ sender: Any) {
self.signIn(type: FUIPhoneAuth.self)
}
}
extension LoginPickerController: FUIAuthDelegate {
func authUI(_ authUI: FUIAuth, didSignInWith authDataResult: AuthDataResult?, error: Error?) {
// perform login actions
}
}
You can customize the default buttons, add images etc.. (a working hack )
class SignInViewController: FUIAuthPickerViewController {
weak var delegate: signInProtocol?
// Unhashed nonce.
fileprivate var currentNonce: String?
var backgView: UIView?
override func viewDidLoad() {
super.viewDidLoad()
view.backgroundColor = .clear
for each in view.subviews[0].subviews[0].subviews[0].subviews {
if let button = each as? UIButton {
button.layer.cornerRadius = 20.0
button.layer.masksToBounds = true
///do any other button customization here
}
}
///add background image
let scrollView = view.subviews[0]
scrollView.backgroundColor = .clear
let contentView = scrollView.subviews[0]
contentView.backgroundColor = .clear
let background = UIImage(named: "imagename")
let backgroundImageView = UIImageView(image: background)
backgroundImageView.contentMode = .scaleToFill
view.insertSubview(backgroundImageView, at: 0)
}
}

preference not working ios watch

I have developing an ios watch app. I want to pass a value to ios watch. i have try several methods. When storing value in a element of ios app. I am using xcode 8 and the code is written in swift.
ViewController.swift
import UIKit
class ViewController: UIViewController {
#IBOutlet weak var webview: UIWebView!
override func viewDidLoad() {
super.viewDidLoad()
print("webview")
let url = URL (string: "http://www.google.com/")
let request = URLRequest(url: url!)
webview.loadRequest(request)
let preferences = UserDefaults.standard
let currentLevel = "cl"
let currentLevelKey = "currentLevel"
preferences.set(currentLevel, forKey: currentLevelKey)
preferences.synchronize()
print("pref")
}
}
Then i have call the preference in ios watch app the code is
InterfaceController.swift
class InterfaceController: WKInterfaceController {
#IBAction func clickingTheButton() {
print("clicked")
let preferences = UserDefaults.standard
let currentLevelKey = "currentLevel"
if preferences.object(forKey: currentLevelKey) == nil {
// Doesn't exist
print("Doesn't exist")
} else {
let currentLevel = preferences.integer(forKey: currentLevelKey)
print("preference : ",currentLevel)
}
}
}
How to pass value from ios to watch app. Please help me.

ios Firebase - segue data in a "details post" Controller

Here is my situation:
I have a controller "Feed" which list multiple posts via a table ( a title and image) from Firebase.
On touch of a button, it bring to a "Feed Details" controller, where I would like the data ( title image and caption) from the post clicked previously (parent) being display. ( see screenshot 2)
At the moment nothing is being fetch when I arrive to the feed details controllers ...
How is it possible to fetch the details from the item click previously ??
Currently this is my feed controller:

I'm using the code for the feeddetails - Which of course doesn't feet the data
My database structure look like below:
How is it possible to fetch the data in that details view ?? If anybody could explain me the process, it will be really fantastic !!
Thank you for all your time and help !!
----- EDIT: --------
Thanks to Retterdesdialogs, I've update the code and the App start, but when i click on the button linkbutton nothin happen and the App crash:
The Console display:
Could not cast value of type 'UIViewController' (0x1087f6758) to 'MobileAppDemo.FeedDetailsController' (0x104bc34a0).
I'm having now for code:

}
}
}
}
1) you need to be able to access the button through IBOutlet or programmatically
2) set the button to the cells indexPath.row and add an action to it
let post = posts[indexPath.row]
cell.configureCell(tableView: tableView, post: post)
// here you need to add
cell.yourButton.tag = indexPath.row
cell.yourButton.addTarget(self, action: #selector(FeedViewController.toFeedDetailAction(_:)), for: .touchUpInside)
return cell
3) when you then press the button you can identify your feed, because you have the button tag, so you know the feed from your Posts-Array
func toFeedDetailAction(_ sender: UIButton) {
let feedDetailsViewController = self.storyboard?.instantiateViewController(withIdentifier: "FeedDetailsIdentifier") as! FeedDetailsViewController
feedDetailsViewController.post = posts[sender.tag]
self.navigationController?.pushViewController(feedDetailsViewController, animated: true)
}
4) in your FeedDetailsViewController add
var post: Post!
5) in FeedDetailsViewController do what ever you want with the post
Hope this helps :)

Swift - Login with FireBase - Can't retrieve user data after login

Firebase Authentication - Can't retrieve user data after login.
I'm trying to retrieve the users email after sign in (logincontroller) and display it in a UILABEL on another controller (maincontroller). When you create a user or use an existing one, it works fine the first time after launching the app, but when you sign out and try to use another email it does not work.
I have two view controllers:
import UIKit
import Firebase
import FirebaseAuth
import FirebaseDatabase
class LoginViewController: UIViewController {
var ref: FIRDatabaseReference!
#IBOutlet weak var emailTextField: UITextField!
#IBOutlet weak var passwordTextField: UITextField!
override func viewDidLoad() {
super.viewDidLoad()
ref = FIRDatabase.database().reference()
}
override func didReceiveMemoryWarning() {
super.didReceiveMemoryWarning()
// Dispose of any resources that can be recreated.
}
#IBAction func signInButton(sender: AnyObject) {
FIRAuth.auth()?.signInWithEmail(emailTextField.text! , password: passwordTextField.text!, completion: { (user, error) in
if error != nil {
print(error!.localizedDescription)
}
})
self.performSegueWithIdentifier("MainViewSegue", sender: self)
}
#IBAction func createAccountButton(sender: AnyObject) {
FIRAuth.auth()?.createUserWithEmail(emailTextField.text!, password: passwordTextField.text!, completion: { (user, error) in
if error != nil {
print(error!.localizedDescription)
} else {
print("User Created.")
let userID: String = user!.uid
let userEmail:String = self.emailTextField.text!
self.ref.child("users").child(userID).setValue(["email": userEmail])
}
})
}
}
and:
import Foundation
import UIKit
import Firebase
import FirebaseDatabase
class MainViewController: UIViewController {
var ref: FIRDatabaseReference!
var refHandle: UInt!
#IBOutlet weak var userEmailLabel: UILabel!
override func viewDidLoad() {
super.viewDidLoad()
ref = FIRDatabase.database().reference()
refHandle = ref.observeEventType(FIRDataEventType.Value, withBlock: { (snapshot) in
let dataDict = snapshot.value as! [String: AnyObject]
print((dataDict))
})
let userID: String = (FIRAuth.auth()?.currentUser?.uid)!
ref.child("users").child(userID).observeSingleEventOfType(.Value, withBlock: { (snapshot) in
let userEmail = snapshot.value!["email"] as! String
self.userEmailLabel.text = userEmail
})
}
#IBAction func signOutButton(sender: AnyObject) {
try! FIRAuth.auth()!.signOut()
if let storyboard = self.storyboard {
let viewController = storyboard.instantiateViewControllerWithIdentifier("LoginViewController")
self.presentViewController(viewController, animated: false, completion: nil)
}
}
}
This is where I get the error EXC_BAD_INSTRUCTION:
let userID: String = (FIRAuth.auth()?.currentUser?.uid)!
CMD+CLICK on signInWithEmail in FIRAuth.auth()?.signInWithEmail(emailT... and you will be directed to its documentation, above that function in its documentation you will see :-
#param completion Optionally; a block which is invoked when the sign in flow finishes, or is
canceled. Invoked asynchronously on the main thread in the future.
which means your completionBlock is invoked when your user is either signed in or signInWithEmail function has given some error.But in your case self.performSegueWithIdentifier("MainViewSegue", sender: self) will get called even before your completionBlock: is called.
Try this:-
#IBAction func signInButton(sender: AnyObject) {
FIRAuth.auth()?.signInWithEmail(emailTextField.text! , password: passwordTextField.text!, completion: { (user, error) in
if error != nil {
print(error!.localizedDescription)
}else if error == nil{
self.performSegueWithIdentifier("MainViewSegue", sender: self)
}
})
}
Also replace :-
let userID: String = (FIRAuth.auth()?.currentUser?.uid)!
with
let userID: String = FIRAuth.auth()!.currentUser!.uid
No need to forcefully unwrap an optional value which you know does exist
