In Objective-C, how do I reanimate? - ios

- (void)viewDidAppear:(BOOL)animated{
[super viewDidAppear:animated];
UIImageView *circleView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:[UIImage imageNamed:#"face.png"]];
circleView.frame = CGRectMake(0, 0, 200, 200);
circleView.layer.cornerRadius = 100;
circleView.center = self.view.center;
[self.view addSubview:circleView];
circleView.transform = CGAffineTransformMakeScale(0, 0);
[UIView animateWithDuration:1 delay:0 usingSpringWithDamping:.5 initialSpringVelocity:1 options:0 animations:^{
circleView.transform = CGAffineTransformMakeScale(1, 1);
} completion:nil];
As you can see, I made a view called circleView in this animation method. Then, I created a touchesBegan method and I want to run through the animation again when touching the screen. How should I do that?

As Sujay said, create a new method and put below lines inside that method. Call that method from touchBegan method.
circleView.transform = CGAffineTransformMakeScale(0, 0);
[UIView animateWithDuration:1 delay:0 usingSpringWithDamping:.5 initialSpringVelocity:1 options:0 animations:^{
circleView.transform = CGAffineTransformMakeScale(1, 1);
} completion:nil];

I did it. I created 2 properties and I made an animation where it gets small, then another animation that makes to make it bigger.

UIPickerView Animate on and off screen behavior

This is a continuation of this question
CGRectMake : How To Calculate X and Y For UIPickerView Animation?
answered by https://stackoverflow.com/users/2315974/danypata
I have a picker view that I want to animate on and off screen on a button press and using the code in the previous question/answer I have got it to animate on screen the first time the button is pressed.
the second tome the button is pressed it just disappears and then the third time it is pressed it animates to the wrong place...please help
the code
if (self.pickerSort.hidden == NO) {
[UIView animateWithDuration:0.5 delay:0 options:UIViewAnimationOptionBeginFromCurrentState animations:^{
self.pickerSort.frame = CGRectMake(0,self.view.frame.size.height
+ self.pickerSort.frame.size.height,-self.pickerSort.frame.size.width,-self.pickerSort.frame.size.height);
}
completion:^(BOOL finished) {
}];
self.pickerSort.hidden = YES;
// [self performSelector:#selector(hidePicker) withObject:nil afterDelay:1];
} else if (self.pickerSort.hidden == YES) {
self.pickerSort.hidden = NO;
[UIView animateWithDuration:0.5 delay:0 options:UIViewAnimationOptionBeginFromCurrentState animations:^{
self.pickerSort.frame = CGRectMake(0 ,
self.view.frame.size.height
- self.pickerSort.frame.size.height,
self.pickerSort.frame.size.width,
self.pickerSort.frame.size.height);
}
completion:^(BOOL finished) {
}];
[self.view bringSubviewToFront:self.pickerSort];
Behavior in images - button press animates onto screen beautifully
Second Press it disappears with no animation
Third Press it animates to here
Any help would be great...functionality I am looking for is how to put the picker view back on an animation so the 3rd press is the same as the first
Please try to use the below code.
self.pickerSort.hidden = NO;
NSTimeInterval duration = 0.5;
[UIView animateWithDuration:duration
delay:0
options:UIViewAnimationOptionCurveLinear
animations:^{
CGRect pickerFrame = self.pickerSort.frame;
// currently picker is off the screen, show it.
if (pickerFrame.origin.y == self.view.frame.size.height) {
// set frame to show picker
pickerFrame.origin.y = self.view.frame.size.height - self.pickerSort.frame.size.height;
} else {
// set frame to hide picker
pickerFrame.origin.y = self.view.frame.size.height;
}
self.pickerSort.frame = pickerFrame;
}
completion:^(BOOL finished) {
self.pickerSort.hidden = YES;
}];
After playing around with this and learning the ins and outs of frames and CGRects, I achieved this by using the following code
if (pickerSort.hidden == YES) {
[UIView animateWithDuration:0.5 delay:0 options:UIViewAnimationOptionBeginFromCurrentState animations:^{
pickerSort.hidden = NO;
visualEffectView = [[UIVisualEffectView alloc] initWithEffect:blurEffect];
[self.tableStations addSubview:visualEffectView];
pickerSort.frame = CGRectMake(0,0,originalPickerFrame.size.width,originalPickerFrame.size.height);
visualEffectView.frame = CGRectMake(0,0,originalPickerFrame.size.width,originalPickerFrame.size.height - 64);
}
completion:^(BOOL finished) {
self.navigationController.navigationItem.leftBarButtonItem.enabled = NO;
}];
}
else
{
visualEffectView.hidden = YES;
[UIView animateWithDuration:0.5 delay:0 options:UIViewAnimationOptionBeginFromCurrentState animations:^{
pickerSort.frame = CGRectMake(0,-originalPickerFrame.size.height,0,0);
}
completion:^(BOOL finished) {
self.navigationController.navigationItem.leftBarButtonItem.enabled = YES;
pickerSort.hidden = YES;
}];
}
I set the original frame size in viewDidLoad like so
pickerSort = [[UIPickerView alloc]initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0.0, 0.0, self.view.frame.size.width, self.view.frame.size.height)];
originalPickerFrame = pickerSort.frame;
pickerSort.frame = CGRectMake(0,-originalPickerFrame.size.height,0, 0);
Hope this can help somebody in the future

TableView not animating

I want to animate UIView simultaneously. But my UIView is not animated. Side over lap But my UITableView is not animated.
[self.view addSubview:sideview];
[sidevieww setHidden:NO];
[UIView animateWithDuration:0.3 animations:^{
[sidevieww setFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, sidevieww.frame.size.width, sidevieww.frame.size.height)];
[mytable setFrame:CGRectMake(240,mytable.frame.origin.y,mytable.frame.size.width,mytable.frame.size.height)];
[mynav setFrame:CGRectMake(240,mynav.frame.origin.y,mynav.frame.size.width,mynav.frame.size.height)];
[mybutton setFrame:CGRectMake(240, mybutton.frame.origin.y, mybutton.frame.size.width, mybutton.frame.size.height)];
} completion:^(BOOL finished) {
sideview =true;
}];
That is really not the best way to configure frame.
Replace your code by this one:
[self.view addsubview:sideview];
[sidevieww setHidden:NO];
CGRect frameSideVieww = sidevieww.frame;
frameSideVieww.origin.x = frameSideVieww.origin.y = 0;
CGRect frameMyTable = mytable.frame;
frameMyTable.origin.x = 240;
CGRect frameMyNav = mynav.frame;
frameMyNav.origin.x = 240;
CGRect frameMyButton = mybutton.frame;
mybutton.origin.x = 240;
[UIView animateWithDuration:0.3 animations:^{
[sidevieww setFrame:frameSideVieww];
[mytable setFrame:frameMyTable];
[mynav setFrame:frameMyNav];
[mybutton setFrame:frameMyButton];
}completion:^(BOOL finished) {
sideview =true;
}];
Also, check if your class is subclass of UIViewController.

How to correctly enlarge an image from within a table view

I'm using the following code to zoom/enlarge an image from within a table view. I would like it to enlarge out to full screen. the current problem is that when it enlarges it enlarges only within the table cell (and as a result is partially hidden beneath the next table cell) instead of the full view.
-(void)zoomPhotoMethod :(id) sender
{
UITapGestureRecognizer *gesture = (UITapGestureRecognizer *) sender;
NSLog(#"Tag = %d", gesture.view.tag);
userSubmittedImageView = (UIImageView *)gesture.view;
if (!isFullScreen) {
[UIView animateWithDuration:0.5 delay:0 options:0 animations:^{
//save previous frame
prevFrame = userSubmittedImageView.frame;
UIView *popupImageViewForTableCell = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame: CGRectMake ( 0, 0, 320, 500)];
[userSubmittedImageView setFrame:[popupImageViewForTableCell bounds]];
}completion:^(BOOL finished){
isFullScreen = TRUE;
}];
return;
}
else{
[UIView animateWithDuration:0.5 delay:0 options:0 animations:^{
[userSubmittedImageView setFrame:prevFrame];
}completion:^(BOOL finished){
isFullScreen = FALSE;;
}];
return;
}
}
updated code:
-(void)zoomPhotoMethod :(id) sender
{
UITapGestureRecognizer *gesture = (UITapGestureRecognizer *) sender;
NSLog(#"Tag = %d", gesture.view.tag);
userSubmittedImageView = (UIImageView *)gesture.view;
if (!isFullScreen) {
[UIView animateWithDuration:0.3 delay:0 options:0 animations:^{
//save previous frame
prevFrame = userSubmittedImageView.frame;
newView = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, 320, 500)];
[self.view addSubview:newView];
UIView *popupImageViewForTableCell = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame: CGRectMake ( 0, 0, 320, 500)];
[userSubmittedImageView setFrame:[popupImageViewForTableCell bounds]];
[newView addSubview:userSubmittedImageView];
[userSubmittedImageView setFrame:[newView bounds]];
}completion:^(BOOL finished){
isFullScreen = TRUE;
}];
return;
}
else{
[UIView animateWithDuration:0.3 delay:0 options:0 animations:^{
[userSubmittedImageView setFrame:prevFrame];
[newView setFrame:prevFrame];
}completion:^(BOOL finished){
isFullScreen = FALSE;;
}];
return;
}
}
What's happening is that you are still a subview of the tableview cell, so it's not going to be able to go outside of those bounds without being clipped.
To do what you want to do, you're going to have to:
Create a new UIImageView outside of your table view (add it as a subview outside of the tableview).
Set the image in the image view to the same image that you have in the tableview cell.
Start it at the same size and position as your tableview cell image.
Animate it up to where you want it.
When it's time to remove it, move it back down to the original tableview cell image.
Discard the imageview.
One way would be to use a copy of the image and place it outside the cell just above your original and animate this second image to full screen.
Another way would be to increase the tableView rowHeight and reload the section.

How do I animate my subviews on adding them?

I have developed a font selection that utilizes UIPickerView and UIToolbar, which are both added on touching a UIButton.
But they just kind of pop in which looks sloppy.
is there a way to animate them?
here is the method that adds them (it's called on clicking the button) :
-(void)showPicker
{
[self.view addSubview:_fontPicker];
[self.view addSubview:pickerTB];
}
You can animate them in a couple of ways, but probably the easiest is to just fade them in.
Fade In
[someView setAlpha:0]
[self.view addSubview:someView];
[UIView beginAnimations:#"FadeIn" context:nil];
[UIView setAnimationDuration:0.5];
[UIView setAnimationBeginsFromCurrentState:YES];
[someView setAlpha:1];
[UIView commitAnimations];
Fade Out
float fadeDuration = 0.5;
[UIView beginAnimations:#"FadeOut" context:nil];
[UIView setAnimationDuration:fadeDuration ];
[UIView setAnimationBeginsFromCurrentState:YES];
[someView setAlpha:0];
[UIView setAnimationDidStopSelector:#selector(removeView)];
[UIView commitAnimations];
-(void) removeView {
[someView removeFromSuperview];
}
Something as simple as that.
Depends on what type of animation you want to use. For example, this would look like dissolve.
Anyways look into UIView animateWithDuration...
pickerTB.alpha = _fontPicker.alpha = 0;
[self.view addSubview:_fontPicker];
[self.view addSubview:pickerTB];
[UIView animateWithDuration:1 animations:^{_fontPicker.alpha = 1; pickerTB.alpha = 1}];
You could use transforms or change frame origins to make the views fly in from positions outside the screen too. In that case, inside the animations block, specify the new on screen position. You can do this in two ways, change the frame with an updated origin or apply a CGAffineTransformMakeTranslation(dx,dy)
You need to add the subview with a frame value that is where you want the animation to begin from (off-screen?) then change the frame value inside your animation block. The frame will change over the duration, causing the appearance of movement. The view must already be a subview - I don't believe adding a subview is something you can animate, it makes no sense.
-(void) showPicker{
[self.view addSubview: _fontPicker];
_fontPicker.frame = CGRectMake(0, 0, 120, 40);// somewhere offscreen, in the direction you want it to appear from
[UIView animateWithDuration:10.0
animations:^{
geopointView.frame = // its final location
}];
}
Initially set your picker view frame and tool bar frame like this one..
-(void)viewDidLoad
{
[super viewDidLoad];
pickerTB.frame = CGRectMake(0,568,320,44);
fontPicker.frame = CGRectMake(0, 568, 320, 216);
}
-(void)showPicker
{
[UIView beginAnimations:nil context:nil];
[UIView setAnimationDuration:.30];
if(isiPhone5)
{
pickerTB.frame = CGRectMake(0,288,320,44);
fontPicker.frame = CGRectMake(0, 332, 320, 216);
}else{
pickerTB.frame = CGRectMake(0,200,320,44);
fontPicker.frame = CGRectMake(0,244, 320, 216);
}
[UIView commitAnimations];
}

UIview animation overriding one view to another view

I'm new iphone developer i have problem uiview animation for ipad landscape mode.i have two view view1(like a split view) and view2(covered remaining window).when i touch move right to left view2 it will be overriding the view1 with moving animation.at same time when i touch move left to right view2 come and fit the old position.please share your ideas
With Regards,
Rajesh.
Hi all i found the answer finally,
- (void)viewDidLoad
{
UISwipeGestureRecognizer *recognizer = [[UISwipeGestureRecognizer alloc] initWithTarget:self action:#selector(rightSwipeHandle:)];
[recognizer setDirection:(UISwipeGestureRecognizerDirectionRight)];
[recognizer setNumberOfTouchesRequired:1];
[secondView addGestureRecognizer:recognizer];
[recognizer release];
UISwipeGestureRecognizer *recognizerleft = [[UISwipeGestureRecognizer alloc] initWithTarget:self action:#selector(leftSwipeHandle:)];
[recognizerleft setDirection:(UISwipeGestureRecognizerDirectionLeft)];
[recognizerleft setNumberOfTouchesRequired:1];
[secondView addGestureRecognizer:recognizerleft];
[recognizerleft release];
[self.view addSubview:secondView];
[super viewDidLoad];
}
//To set the frame position of the view
- (void)rightSwipeHandle:(UISwipeGestureRecognizer*)gestureRecognizer
{
NSLog(#"rightSwipeHandle");
[UIView beginAnimations:#"viewanimations" context:nil];
[UIView setAnimationDuration:0.8];
[UIView setAnimationDelegate:self];
secondView.frame=CGRectMake(360, 0, 660, 768);
[UIView commitAnimations];
}
//To set the frame position of the view
- (void)leftSwipeHandle:(UISwipeGestureRecognizer*)gestureRecognizer
{
NSLog(#"leftSwipeHandle");
[UIView beginAnimations:#"viewanimations" context:nil];
[UIView setAnimationDuration:0.8];
[UIView setAnimationDelegate:self];
secondView.frame=CGRectMake(200, 0, 858, 768);
[UIView commitAnimations];
}
if i understand correctly, you want a sliding animation between 2 views. if so:
Make a ViewController that will hold these two views. inside this view controller's .m file define a transition method that contains the following and gets called by your buttons/other action triggers:
CGFloat windowWidth = self.mainView.frame.size.width;
CGFloat windowHeight = self.mainView.frame.size.height;
CGRect offScreenLeft = CGRectMake(-1*windowWidth, 0.0, windowWidth, windowHeight);
CGRect onScreen = self.mainView.frame;
CGRect offScreenRight = CGRectMake(windowWidth, 0.0, windowWidth, windowHeight);
if (direction == rightToLeft)
{
rightView.frame = offScreenRight;
[self.view addSubview:rightView];
[UIView animateWithDuration:0.65
animations:^{
leftView.frame = offScreenLeft;
rightView.frame = onScreen;
}
completion:^(BOOL finished){
[leftView removeFromSuperview];
}];
}else if (direction == leftToRight){
self.leftViewController.view.frame = offScreenLeft;
[UIView animateWithDuration:0.65
animations:^{
rightView.frame = offScreenRight;
leftView.frame = onScreen;
}
completion:^(BOOL finished){
[rightView removeFromSuperview];
}];
}
}
In general, make sure you are adding your subview to the view currently on screen, and make sure you set the appropriate bounds. Check that your view is not nil:
if(myView){
// not nil. thats good
}else {
// nil. this is bad. make sure myView is being initialized properly (if at all)
}
Finally, make sure neither the opacity nor the alpha property on your subview is set to 0 (you'll want these at 1 if you want it to show up completely and between 0 and 1 for a transparency effect).
