View always null in Windows Manager - android-view

I have a BroadcastReceiver for incoming calls and on getting incoming calls I want to inflate a view.
But when I try to removeview when call state is IDLE, app crash with:
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: view must not be null
My code:
String state = intent.getStringExtra(TelephonyManager.EXTRA_STATE);
if (TelephonyManager.EXTRA_STATE_RINGING.equals(state)) {
new HttpAsyncTask().execute();
}
if (TelephonyManager.EXTRA_STATE_IDLE.equals(state)) {
removeview();
}
Inside onPostExecute I call
showview();
And this is my method:
public void showview(){
params = new WindowManager.LayoutParams(WindowManager.LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT, WindowManager.LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT,
WindowManager.LayoutParams.TYPE_SYSTEM_OVERLAY, WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_NOT_TOUCH_MODAL
| WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_WATCH_OUTSIDE_TOUCH | WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_NOT_FOCUSABLE, PixelFormat.TRANSLUCENT);
params.gravity = Gravity.CENTER | Gravity.CENTER;
params.flags |= WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_NOT_TOUCH_MODAL;
wm = (WindowManager) mContext.getSystemService(mContext.WINDOW_SERVICE);
inflater = (LayoutInflater) mContext.getSystemService(Context.LAYOUT_INFLATER_SERVICE);
view = inflater.inflate(R.layout.child, null);
txtIncomingnumber = (TextView) view.findViewById(R.id.txtviewoncall);
txtIncomingnumber.setText("TEST");
wm.addView(view, params);
}
public void removeview(){
wm.removeView(view);
}

Gluon iOS audio Player

I've been following various answers to various questions on the subject and I've come to a result and some code which looks like it works. I'm getting stuck with the NSURL part of it. I've got 2 mp3 tracks in the assets folder of my iOS gluon project. I've made the IOSAudioService Class to handle the playback. and I'm passing an argument from the play button in the view to the Play() method. Everything other than the actual file is registering as working. I'm getting an NSError, which from looking at the code is a nil value, so either the argument isn't passing correctly or it can't find the file. Code below.
public AVAudioPlayer backgroundMusic;
private double currentPosition;
NSURL songURL = null;
#Override
public void Play(String filename){
songURL = new NSURL(filename);
try {
if (backgroundMusic != null) {
Resume();
}
else {
//Start the audio at the beginning.
currentPosition = 0;
backgroundMusic = new AVAudioPlayer(songURL);
//create the mendia player and assign it to the audio
backgroundMusic.prepareToPlay();
backgroundMusic.play();}
//catch the audio error
} catch(NSErrorException e) {
System.out.println("error: " + e);
}
}
#Override
public void Stop() {
backgroundMusic.stop();
backgroundMusic = null;
}
#Override
public void Pause() {
currentPosition = backgroundMusic.getCurrentTime();
backgroundMusic.pause();
}
#Override
public void Resume() {
backgroundMusic.setCurrentTime(currentPosition);
backgroundMusic.play();
}
try {
services = (AudioService) Class.forName("com.gluonhq.charm.down.plugins.ios.IOSAudioService").newInstance();
} catch (ClassNotFoundException | InstantiationException | IllegalAccessException ex) {
System.out.println("Error " + ex);
}
I'm getting the error at the catch block for NSExceptionError e.
if (services != null) {
final HBox hBox = new HBox(10,
MaterialDesignIcon.PLAY_ARROW.button(e -> services.Play("/audio.mp3")),
MaterialDesignIcon.PAUSE.button(e -> {
if (!pause) {
services.Pause();
pause = true;
} else {
services.Resume();
pause = false;
}
}),
MaterialDesignIcon.STOP.button(e -> services.Stop()));
//set the HBox alignment
hBox.setAlignment(Pos.CENTER);
hBox.getStyleClass().add("hbox");
//create and set up a vbox to include the image, audio controls and the text then set the alignment
final VBox vBox = new VBox(5, Image(), hBox, text1);
vBox.setAlignment(Pos.CENTER);
setCenter(new StackPane(vBox));
} else {
//start an error if service is null
setCenter(new StackPane(new Label("Only for Android")));
}
Services.get(LifecycleService.class).ifPresent(s -> s.addListener(LifecycleEvent.PAUSE, () -> services.Stop()));
}
I've also follow the advice on creating the service factory class and the interface from Audio performance with Javafx for Android (MediaPlayer and NativeAudioService) taking out the add audio element and I'm intending to do this on a view by view basis if possible.
Problem solved after must fiddling and looking in the Javadocs.Solved by adding/replacing some code with the below.
songURL = new NSURL("file:///" + NSBundle.getMainBundle().findResourcePath(filename, "mp3"));
try {
songURL.checkResourceIsReachable();}
catch(NSErrorException d) {
System.out.println("Song not found!" + d);
}

Printing from Win RT Application (Windows 8.1 App)

I am developing a POS application in windows 8.1 (Universal App).
Order receipt will be printed from the application and even I am able to do so.
Printer - EPSON TM-U220D
Input - A grid is being created pragmatically with dynamic content within the ViewModel. So this grid is the input for printer
Output - In the print preview (Attahced pic 1) all looks good but when the receipt is actually printed then content is cut off from the end (Attahced pic 2)
PIC 1
PIC 2
Observations -
If I print a normal text file manually using print command (Right click file and then print), then all content is printed perfectly.
If I print that SAME content, from the application, by creating Dynamic grid, then with Small font size print is good but with bit bigger font size content again cuts off.
Tried -
Optimized the code for Creating Gird, by specifying height
Questions-
If preview is all good then why not output
Did anyone tried using ePOS-Print_SDK_141020E for Windows Store app?

FromOutcome for `Switch Node` directing flow to `Method Call Node` don't wont to work

I have difined my flow as:
builder.id("", PublisherBean.PUBLISHER_FLOW_NAME);
builder.viewNode("list", "/pages/publishers.xhtml");
builder.viewNode("details", "/pages/publishers-details.xhtml");
builder.viewNode("deleted", "/pages/publishers-deleted.xhtml");
builder.viewNode("form", "/pages/publishers-form.xhtml");
builder.viewNode("exit", "/index.xhtml");
builder.methodCallNode("invoke-update")
.expression("#{publisherBean.update()}")
.defaultOutcome("details");
builder.methodCallNode("switch-fail")
.defaultOutcome("invoke-publishers")
.expression("#{publisherBean.switchFail()}");
builder.switchNode("proceed-action-request")
.defaultOutcome("switch-fail")
.switchCase()
.condition("#{publisherBean.actionType.ifEdit()}").fromOutcome("form");
builder.switchNode("go-for-it")
.defaultOutcome("switch-fail")
.switchCase()
.switchCase()
.condition("#{publisherBean.actionType.ifEdit()}").fromOutcome("invoke-update");
as you can see, there is two switch nodes. First directs to a View Node, second one is trying to direct to a Method Call Node.
First one works fine, however second is giving me a headache. Second one is giving me an error
Unable to find matching navigation case with from-view-id '/pages/publishers-form.xhtml' for action '#{publisherBean.proceed()}' with outcome 'proceed-form'.
proceed function is just
public String proceed() {
LOG.log(Level.OFF, "Form proceed in action type {0}", actionType);
return "go-for-it";
}
Logged info confirms, that publisherBean.actionType.ifEdit() returns true, however that fact is ignored. If i change outcome from invoke-update to form or any other View Node id, then it "works fine".
Is it i'm doing something wrong, or Method Call Node cant be used as an outcome to a Switch Node?
I run into this issue too. In my case the problem is in calling Method Call Node after another Method Call Node.
I invesigated it a bit and found a problem in: com.sun.faces.application.NavigationHandlerImpl.synthesizeCaseStruct method. This method is used to determine where to go from methodCallNode or switchCallNode and it only looks at viewNodes and returnNodes.
private CaseStruct synthesizeCaseStruct(FacesContext context, Flow flow, String fromAction, String outcome) {
CaseStruct result = null;
FlowNode node = flow.getNode(outcome);
if (null != node) {
if (node instanceof ViewNode) {
result = new CaseStruct();
result.viewId = ((ViewNode)node).getVdlDocumentId();
result.navCase = new MutableNavigationCase(fromAction,
fromAction, outcome, null, result.viewId,
flow.getDefiningDocumentId(), null, false, false);
} else if (node instanceof ReturnNode) {
String fromOutcome = ((ReturnNode)node).getFromOutcome(context);
FlowHandler flowHandler = context.getApplication().getFlowHandler();
try {
flowHandler.pushReturnMode(context);
result = getViewId(context, fromAction, fromOutcome, FlowHandler.NULL_FLOW);
// We are in a return node, but no result can be found from that
// node. Show the last displayed viewId from the preceding flow.
if (null == result) {
Flow precedingFlow = flowHandler.getCurrentFlow(context);
if (null != precedingFlow) {
String toViewId = flowHandler.getLastDisplayedViewId(context);
if (null != toViewId) {
result = new CaseStruct();
result.viewId = toViewId;
result.navCase = new MutableNavigationCase(context.getViewRoot().getViewId(),
fromAction,
outcome,
null,
toViewId,
FlowHandler.NULL_FLOW,
null,
false,
false);
}
}
} else {
result.newFlow = FlowImpl.SYNTHESIZED_RETURN_CASE_FLOW;
}
}
finally {
flowHandler.popReturnMode(context);
}
}
} else {
// See if there is an implicit match within this flow, using outcome
// to derive a view id within this flow.
String currentViewId = outcome;
// If the viewIdToTest needs an extension, take one from the currentViewId.
String currentExtension;
int idx = currentViewId.lastIndexOf('.');
if (idx != -1) {
currentExtension = currentViewId.substring(idx);
} else {
// PENDING, don't hard code XHTML here, look it up from configuration

}

MonoTouch, ZXing: Redirect to another ViewController after scan

I'm using the ZXing MobileScanner lib with my xamarin project for iOS (MonoTouch).
I set up the scanning, it is working fine, reading my QRCode and having the correct result.
After reading the QRCode I want to show another ViewController. I set a property in the second Controller with the result from scanning and then want to show the controller.
The second view is not shown on screen. No errors, no feedback, simply not shown.
I guess, the MobileScanner builds up its own View (which can be seen in the source of the lib) and adds this to the NavigationController - and that this causes my Controller to stay "behind". Testing with simply redirecting to my controller on button clicks is working fine.
I also tried to "dispose" the view by calling scanner.Cancel(), but this results in
Warning: Attempt to dismiss from view controller <UINavigationController: 0x19a0c60> while a presentation or dismiss is in progress!
Here is my code, any help on how to display my view is appreciated.
public override void ViewDidLoad ()
{
base.ViewDidLoad ();
// Perform any additional setup after loading the view, typically from a nib.
scanner = new MobileBarcodeScanner(this.NavigationController);
this.btnScan.TouchUpInside += (sender, e) => {
//Tell our scanner to use the default overlay
scanner.UseCustomOverlay = false;
//We can customize the top and bottom text of the default overlay
scanner.TopText = "Ticket vor den Scanner halten";
scanner.BottomText = "Code wird automatisch eingelesen";
//Start scanning
scanner.Scan ().ContinueWith((t) =>
{
//Our scanning finished callback
if (t.Status == System.Threading.Tasks.TaskStatus.RanToCompletion){
string msg = "";
ZXing.Result result = t.Result;
if (result != null && !string.IsNullOrEmpty (result.Text)) {
scanner.Cancel();
if(this.ticketScreen == null) {
this.ticketScreen = new TicketScreen();
}
this.ticketScreen.ticketUrl = result.Text;
this.NavigationController.PushViewController(this.ticketScreen, true);
} else {
msg = "Code nicht erkannt!";
this.InvokeOnMainThread(() => {
var av = new UIAlertView("Fehler!", msg, null, "OK", null);
av.Show();
});
}
}
});
};
}
I use this.InvokeOnMainThread(() and it works fine in my code.
The solution for you is:
public override void ViewDidLoad ()
{
base.ViewDidLoad ();
// Perform any additional setup after loading the view, typically from a nib.
scanner = new MobileBarcodeScanner(this.NavigationController);
this.btnScan.TouchUpInside += (sender, e) => {
//Tell our scanner to use the default overlay
scanner.UseCustomOverlay = false;
//We can customize the top and bottom text of the default overlay
scanner.TopText = "Ticket vor den Scanner halten";
scanner.BottomText = "Code wird automatisch eingelesen";
//Start scanning
scanner.Scan ().ContinueWith((t) =>
{
//Our scanning finished callback
if (t.Status == System.Threading.Tasks.TaskStatus.RanToCompletion){
string msg = "";
ZXing.Result result = t.Result;
if (result != null && !string.IsNullOrEmpty (result.Text)) {
scanner.Cancel();
this.InvokeOnMainThread(() =>
{
if(this.ticketScreen == null) {
this.ticketScreen = new TicketScreen();
}
this.ticketScreen.ticketUrl = result.Text;
this.NavigationController.PushViewController(this.ticketScreen, true);
});
} else {
msg = "Code nicht erkannt!";
this.InvokeOnMainThread(() => {
var av = new UIAlertView("Fehler!", msg, null, "OK", null);
av.Show();
});
}
}
});
};
}

Note: This Error displaying first "javax.microedition.media.MediaException: There is already another active Player. Call Player.close() on the existing Player to free up the resources." and camera gets open and when i try to take picture this error displays "Error Class Java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: Index 0>=0"
After _videoControl.getSnapshot( encoding ) has been called you need to close player (i.e. to call player.close(). And that's exactly what the exception tells about.
However this method of taking images is highly unreliable - you'll not be able to use it for every BB device model. I don't know why RIM put it in SDK samples. By doing that RIM pushes developers to a wrong way. As alishaik786 mentiones a proper method of taking images on BB is using Invoke.invokeApplication(Invoke.APP_TYPE_CAMERA, new CameraArguments()) with a FileSystemJournalListener implementation. Just search on StackOverflow on these for the implementation details. I vaguely recall the implementation is painful (like many other parts on BB), but once done it will work on any device.
you got two error
1."javax.microedition.media.MediaException: There is already another active Player. Call Player.close()
this exception thrown if you try to open camera (player) while another instance of camera is already opened. In your code, you need to define the player object as a class level and must close the player after taking the snapshot (also need to close the player if you push from one screen to another).
2."Error Class Java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: Index 0>=0"
This error may occur when you access encoding array while encoding array size is zero.
You can ensure this issue by using _videoControl.getSnapshot( null), which take the snapshot in default encoding.
So first insure these issue and reply me.
