indexPath.row always gives zero (why not work?) - ios

Prompt, here is a code that sorts the dictionary by distance, I need to pass a variable coord to detailview where it is separated into position and put the marker on karte.No why coord gives 0 and how do I transfer it to the coordinates?

I use this function, it may be because it does not work?
- (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath
{
static NSString *CellIdentifier = #"Cell";
UITableViewCell *cell = (UITableViewCell *) [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:CellIdentifier];
if (cell == nil) {
cell = [[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleSubtitle reuseIdentifier:CellIdentifier];
}
// Configure the cell...
//---------- CELL BACKGROUND IMAGE -----------------------------
UIImageView *imageView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithFrame:cell.frame];
UIImage *image = [UIImage imageNamed:#"LightGrey.png"];
imageView.image = image;
cell.backgroundView = imageView;
[[cell textLabel] setBackgroundColor:[UIColor clearColor]];
[[cell detailTextLabel] setBackgroundColor:[UIColor clearColor]];
cell.textLabel.text = [datasource objectAtIndex:indexPath.row];
//Arrow
cell.accessoryType = UITableViewCellAccessoryDisclosureIndicator;
return cell;
}

It's not a good practice to call [self setupArray] before [super viewDidLoad]. Call it before.
Try to call UITableView's method - (void)reloadData after loading your data on - (void)setupArray to tell tableView's delegate that you have loaded or updated your data and want to show it on the tableView. It should resolve your problem.
FYI: In your case, numberOfRowsInSection: should return [sortedStates count] to be sure that when you tap a cell, your app will not crash.
Update
- (void)viewDidLoad
{
[super viewDidLoad];
//Call setup array after [super viewDidLoad]
[self setupArray];
}
-(void)setupArray {
//Do all your setupArray stuff
//Now update the table contents
[yourTableView reloadData];
}
- (NSInteger)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView numberOfRowsInSection:(NSInteger)section
{
//Use [sortedStates count] here to be sure your app will not crash later
return [sortedStates count];
}
- (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath
{
Detail2ViewController *detail = [self.storyboard instantiateViewControllerWithIdentifier:#"detail"];
[self.navigationController pushViewController:detail animated:YES];
NSString* coord = sortedStates[indexPath.row];
NSLog(#"virable coord %#",coord);
}
Update 2
I think I found the reason ! You have a instance variable called sortedStates, but inside - (void)setupArray you are declaring a local variable with the same name, and thats why you are not getting the values within the other methods.
Try changing
NSArray* sortedStates = [states keysSortedByValueUsingComparator: ^(id obj1, id obj2) {
//stuff
}];
with
//without "NSArray *"
sortedStates = [states keysSortedByValueUsingComparator: ^(id obj1, id obj2) {
//stuff
}];

Its because sortedStates[indexPath.row]; will result into a NSDictionary.
So code should be :
NSDictionary *coord = sortedStates[indexPath.row];
Pass this value to your detailViewController and extract the coordinate there.

Buggy swipe to delete display on one more row after each delete

With the update and the changes using those trailing swipe actions there is another View appended before each time I delete an entry (until it doesn't work anymore). I've tried disabling the full trail or implementing iOS 11 trailingSwipeActionsConfigurationForRowAtIndexPath but I can't resolve this issue so far.
Do you see something wrong in the code? The main controller code is in another file.
Try reloading after you delete, after this line
[self.tableView endUpdates];
I think you removed the data from messageArray but as you are not reloading just after that so table view count is still 2 and you are reloading inside the block which might be taking time.
And one more thing you already removing data from messageArray, and then removing from db, So if you fail to remove it from db you are showing its not removed but for user it will be removed, as its no longer in message array

How to show selected checked TableViewCell in IOS(Objective c)

Hi friends I am new in IOS. I am creating a table view of state list. On button click I'm showing a TableView on popup. Code for creating state list is
CGRect screenRect = [[UIScreen mainScreen] bounds];
CGFloat screenWidth = screenRect.size.width;
CGFloat screenHeight = screenRect.size.height;
selectedState = [NSMutableArray new];
UIView *contentView = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, screenWidth-50, screenHeight-50)];
mytableview = [[UITableView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, screenWidth-50, screenHeight-100)];
mytableview.delegate =self;
mytableview.dataSource=self;
[contentView addSubview:mytableview];
UIButton *save = [[UIButton alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, screenHeight-100, screenWidth-50, 50)];
[save setTitle:#"SAVE" forState:UIControlStateNormal];
save.titleLabel.font = [UIFont systemFontOfSize:14];
[save setTitleColor:[UIColor whiteColor] forState:UIControlStateNormal];
[save addTarget:self action:#selector(saveActionForState:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside];
[save setBackgroundColor:[UIColor colorWithRed:41.0/255.0 green:178.0/255.0 blue:165.0/255.0 alpha:1.0]];
[contentView addSubview:save];
[[KGModal sharedInstance] showWithContentView:contentView andAnimated:YES];
For table creation code is
- (NSInteger)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView numberOfRowsInSection:(NSInteger)section
{
return [stateList count];
}
- (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath
{
static NSString *CRTableViewCellIdentifier = #"cellIdentifier";
if(selectStateButton ==1){
CRTableViewCell *cell = (CRTableViewCell *)[tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:CRTableViewCellIdentifier];
if (cell == nil) {
cell = [[CRTableViewCell alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleDefault reuseIdentifier:CRTableViewCellIdentifier];
}
NSString *text = [stateList objectAtIndex:[indexPath row]];
cell.textLabel.font = [UIFont systemFontOfSize:12.0];
cell.isSelected = [selectedState containsObject:text] ? YES : NO;
cell.textLabel.text = text;
return cell;
}
}
On selection of table cell checked the cell of IOS.
- (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath
{
if(selectStateButton ==1){
//[selectedStatesForSelect2 removeAllObjects];
NSString *text = [stateList objectAtIndex:[indexPath row]];
NSInteger indexings = [indexPath row]+1;
if ([selectedState containsObject:text]){
[selectedState removeObject:text];
[selectedStatesId removeObject:[NSString stringWithFormat:#"%ld", (long)indexings]];
}else{
//NSLog(#"count%lu indexing %#",(unsigned long)[selectedState count],selectedStatesId);
[selectedState addObject:text];
[selectedStatesId addObject:[NSString stringWithFormat:#"%ld", (long)indexings]];
[selectedStatesForSelect2 addObject:[NSString stringWithFormat:#"%ld", (long)indexings]];
NSLog(#"select%#count%lu",selectedStatesForSelect2,(unsigned long)[selectedState count]);
if([selectedState count] > 3){
UIAlertView *alert = [[UIAlertView alloc]initWithTitle:#"Hold On..." message:#"You can't select more than three states." delegate:self cancelButtonTitle:#"OK" otherButtonTitles:nil, nil];
[alert show];
[selectedState removeObject:text];
[selectedStatesId removeObject:[NSString stringWithFormat:#"%ld", (long)indexings]];
}
}
}
That seen like this. When user select first time it works very good. But after closing the table view, when user again open the state list I want to show the previous selected item. Thats not working properly. I'm using a library for check "CRMultiRowSelector".Please help me.
I will give what you ask.I tried many times this.It works perfectly

You have to save indexPaths and while creating the cell you have to again reassign state of cell. If it is selected or not.
In
- (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath
{}
in this method keep selected indexPaths and check for same indexPaths in cellPathForRowIndexPath, if there there show as checked otherwise unchecked.

Error: '-[__NSCFArray removeObjectAtIndex:]: mutating method sent to immutable object'

I'm attempting to allow my user to be able to delete/remove a row from a tableView (remove an object from an existing NSMutableArray), however when I try and delete the row, I get the following crash error:

Does anyone know why this might be? See code below. Apologies for the lengthy code.

Check the line self.descripData = responseObject;. It looks like you are probably setting your descripData property to point to a NSArray, not an NSMutableArray. If you really need the mutability, try self.descripData = [responseObject mutableCopy]; instead.
I suspect that the following assignment causes the problem:
self.descripData = responseObject;
The response object itself is immutable, assigning it to a NSMutableArray does not change that fact, you need to create a NSMutableArray with the contents of the responseObject:
self.descripData = [NSMutableArray arrayWithArray:responseObject];
Most likely happening on the following line:
self.descripData = responseObject;
You're replacing your previous mutable array for descripData with a new one, which apparently is not mutable. You can either create a new mutable array from this new array using [NSMutableArray arrayWithArray:responseObject], or you can add the contents of responseObject to your current mutable array.
It's important to pay attention when you assign something of type id to a variable, because there's no compile-time type checking that can occur. This sometimes results in errors at runtime.
Face this issue because NSUserDefaults always returns an immutable object.
Please while retrieving Mutable object from NSUserDefaults please refer below code.
NSMutableArray *storeArray = [[defaultDefects objectForKey:#"defaultStoreDefects"]mutableCopy];

iOS Search Address book contacts by UISearchBar using NSDictionary with multiple arrays

I am trying to implement search bar in my custom Contacts Book. I created NSDictionary for search data and added to my dictionary 4 mutable arrays, include
names, last name, phone types, phone numbers.
When I am trying to search in NSDictionary, my app is crashing on cell create. And When I am searching by one array only (from dictionary valueforkey or directly from array) it's working partially, but taking another strings (for example last name) always from the first contact in the list. Bacause not all parameters in a loop, So I have to search by every parameter to get right first name and last name in my contacts.
here is my code:
#pragma mark SEARCH_BAR
-(void)searchBarSearchButtonClicked:(UISearchBar *)searchBar {
[self.tableSearchBar resignFirstResponder];
}
-(void)searchBar:(UISearchBar *)serachBar textDidChange:(NSString *)searchText {
[filteredStrings removeAllObjects];
if (searchText.length == 0) {
isFiltered = NO;
} else {
isFiltered = YES;
//here aim creating NSDictionary with 4 Mutable Arrays
NSDictionary *filteredContacts = [NSDictionary dictionaryWithObjectsAndKeys:
contacts.firstNames, #"First Name",
contacts.lastNames, #"Last Name",
contacts.phoneTypes, #"Phone Type",
contacts.phoneNumbers, #"Phone Numbers",
nil];
//[filteredStrings addObject:filteredContacts];
for (NSString *str in filteredContacts) { // in this case for (NSString *str in [filteredContacts valueForKey:#"First Name"]) all working partially
NSRange stringRange = [str rangeOfString:searchText options:NSCaseInsensitiveSearch];

UISearchBar misses elements in the non-visible part of the tableView

I have a TableView with many rows, most are not visible at the time of loading viewController. The rows of UITableView are extracted from a SQLite database. How can I make do that the SearchBar search between all rows and not just the visible ones?
In header file:

BOOL isSearchOn;
BOOL canSelectRow;
NSMutableArray * listOfExpositors;
NSMutableArray * searchResult;
}
//....
#end
In implementation file
-(NSInteger)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView
numberOfRowsInSection:(NSInteger)section
{
if(isSearchOn){
return [searchResult count];

It was wrong to use the array created in cellForRowAtIndexPath because it was limited only to the visible elements. I then used the NSMutableArray created in viewDidLoad () that does contain all the elements of the database. I changed the following methods:
- (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)aTableView
cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath {
//....
if(isSearchOn){
NSString * cellValue = [searchResult objectAtIndex:indexPath.row];
cell.textLabel.text = cellValue;
}else{
Database *currow =[self.mutableArray objectAtIndex:indexPath.row];
cell.textLabel.text = currow.name;
//Should be removed this array and used to another, self.mutableArray
//[listOfExpositors addObject:cell.textLabel.text];
// NSLog(#" %#", listOfExpositors);
isSearchOn = NO;
canSelectRow = YES;
}
}
Method for research
-(void) searchExpositorsTableView{
[searchResult removeAllObjects];
for (Database *currow in self.mutableArray){
/*In self.mutableArray there are all elements because is created in
viewDidLoad*/
NSLog(#"list of expositors %#", self.mutableArray);
NSRange titleResultsRange = [currow.name rangeOfString:self.searchBar.text options: NSCaseInsensitiveSearch];
if (titleResultsRange.length >0) {
[searchResult addObject:currow.name];
}
}
NSLog(#"%#", searchResult);
}
