The Facebook share button displays as disabled in my application.
I have implemented as per the given URL
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/sharing/ios#videos
I tried in many ways but there is no use. In the above specified URL, they did mention that
"People who share should have Facebook for iOS client installed, version 26.0 or higher."
May i please know what I should do to satisfy the above given requirement.
I am successful with sharing the Photos and links but I am stuck with the videos sharing.
Thanks in advance for the help.
As per the mentioned line provided in facebook docs:-
People who share should have Facebook for iOS client installed, version 26.0 or higher.
The line simply means that the user who is using your app to share video must have Facebook app installed in their device , the facebook version should be updated at least 26.0 or higher.
Check whether the "FacebookDisplayName" matches with the name you entered in your Facebook Developer's App settings.
Note :- The videos must be less than 12MB

As the latest release of Facebook SDK version 4.28.0 - November 7, 2017, App Invites is deprecated.
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/app-invites/android/
With the release of the Facebook SDK version 4.28.0, App Invites is
deprecated. It will be supported until February 5, 2018.
It makes the AppInviteDialog not working as expected (show white screen instead of list friends - Facebook app is not installed in the device), even I decreased Facebook SDK version to 4.27.0 or lower).
I tried to find out more information at offical docs but no luck.
Anyone have a solution for this trouble ?
You should also consider using popular messaging apps and other social networks to leverage app invites i.e Whatsapp, Kik, Twitter, Kakao etc. More details here
Our data shows that less than 18% of users prefer inviting via FB AppInvites, whereas the other 82% of users prefer to invite friends via WhatsApp,
FB Messenger and other chat applications.
(Disclaimer: I am founder of GetSocial)
Seems there is no other option for non-game applications but to remove Facebook app invites.
Google Firebase invites is good option we integrated recently and used side-by-side with Facebook Invites.
I was just trying to add invites for the first time and struggled for a long time until I realized that I need to do the following:
1 - Use Game Requests ( i.e. apprequests)
2 - Enable "Deep Linking" in Basic Settings page on Facebook developer portal for each platform, you won't see the option unless you also enable "Single Sign On".
Now the notifications open directly into app store if app not installed or into the game directly if it is installed.
The great thing is you don't need an App Link!!
Try GameRequestDialog to invite your friends. In that you can also set filter for NON APP USERS only.
I have developed an iOS app, which will control a hardware device. Apple was accepted my first version of app. When I upload my second version with in a week then they have rejected it and asking for login details. My problem is if I share the login details also they should have hardware to check the functionality. So please suggest me what to do
You can give them the required Login Credentials and also you can make a video of your app controlling hardware and upload it to some Website like youtube, dailymotion etc and share the link with them so that They can match your app login and other screens with the actual video
Hope it will helps you.
Right now i'm using phonegap for my mobile app project. My problem is this glitch happen only on certain of device. I'm using social sharing phonegap plugin from here.
https://github.com/EddyVerbruggen/SocialSharing-PhoneGap-Plugin
I'm using iphone 5
Why?
in documentation of plugin you can see
If Facebook, Twitter or WhatsApp is not available, the errorCallback
is called with the text 'not available'.
so there can be some error with privacy settings, or social account of selected network not configured on your device.
I've just changed the plugin behaviour in this exact case. Still, the errorcallback is invoked with 'not available' as Sergey mentioned correctly, but on iOS the plugin will now prompt the user to setup his Facebook/Twitter/.. account in the Settings of the phone (as per Apple design guidelines).
If you don't want the user to see the Facebook or Twitter button when he has not configured the app already, you can use the 'canShareVia' methods check beforehand.
Hope this helps,
Eddy
I setup a Mobile App using the developer's panel and added all the correct information as mentioned in the tutorial video on the Facebook SDK page.
It's a native iOS app so I supplied the bundle ID and the App Store ID. I've installed the SDK and Facebook is registering installs whenever I run it on my device.
However once I tried to use the "Promote" feature to setup install ads it keeps getting rejected by Facebook on the grounds that the URL is bad. The URL works fine as I've tested it multiple times. The URL is generated by Facebook itself using the App ID.
I've tried submitting it again after changing the creative, but I'm assuming I've been blacklisted since it immediately is disapproved.
What can I do?
Is your app limited to a certain region or country?
My ad was also disapproved and this is what I got:
"The destination URL of this ad violates our Ad Guidelines or could not be reviewed. Please check the URL you have submitted to ensure that it is free of any spelling errors and that it complies with our Advertising Guidelines. Please note that all sites must be viewable and functioning properly, regardless of the viewer's location. Additionally, sites are prohibited from linking to proprietary file types (.pdf, .doc, etc,) initiating automatic downloads, or trapping a user's browser in any way (e.g., pop-ups of any kind).
"
In my case the only logical explanation would be the availability of the app, as it is only available in one country. I link directly to the app store so that should not be a problem...
Sorry for my reply, i know it's not very helpful, but there is so little info on the web about it. I need to do detective work in order to understand what is happening.
I had the exact same thing. I think Facebook changed a ton of stuff in their ads dashboard. I created a new ad yesterday and it was finally approved. Try again.
Does anybody know a smart way to bring the user to enter their Facebook or Twitter account login information, if they aren't already logged in? For example, a user tries to log in my application with Facebook without configuring the Facebook account in the iOS settings. Can I ask him to do it with an alert, for example, but how can I bring him to the exact section of settings for that?
#rckoenes is correct. Under normal circumstances there is no way to manually send the user to preferences. There was a method of doing this introduced in iOS 5, but Apple quickly depreciated it in iOS 5.0.1 or 5.1 I don't remember exactly which one.
Now, on to the current situation. If you are using an SLComposeViewController in the Social Framework, you don't even have to worry about adding this functionality yourself. It is done automatically by iOS. Below is a screenshot from my 6.0 simulator attempting to post to Facebook without any accounts signed in. This is also true for Twitter and Sina Weibo.
You can't, there is no way to get the user to the settings app lett a lone the correct section.
