How to organize time_stamps with values in lua? - lua

Create something like array of values associated with time_stamps, and getting values by time_stamps. only one value with one time_stamp. How better organise it? And how to remove values after goes some time?
something like this:
datetime = os.date("!*t",os.time())
array[datetime]=somevalue
And how to delete from that table values older than 10 minutes?

I don't see why using the date table as keys. You can instead use the timestamp directly as keys, something like:
t[os.time()] = somevalue
The timestamps are only integer values, you can get its real date with os.date when in need.
You can compare them directly. For instance, to remove values that is before May 20, 2014, compare the keys with os.time{year=2014, month=5, day=20, hour=0}.

Google Sheets – Query for a date returns no values

I'm trying to filter a list from another sheet by the dates of the entries and simply doesn't work:
=QUERY(Import!A:Z;"select A,T where T >= date '2021-08-27'";0)
When I remove the date part it works fine, as expexted for filtering by text. I need the ability to sort by exact dates though, because I would like to add some more complex filters. When I set the last part of the function to a 0 instead of a 1 it shows only the first entry.
The source column is set to the correct date format. The data is pulled from another document using the IMPORTRANGE() function (I don't seee how this should make any difference though).
I feel like I'm misssing something simple here and would be glad if someone can point me in the right direction!
Check your date column if all cells are formatted as date. I had missing values as "='---" and the query filtering by date returned nothing. Changing the missing values to "=NA()" did the job.
Try this:
=QUERY(Import!A:Z;"select A,T where T >= date '"&TEXT("2021-08-27";"yyyy-mm-dd")&"'")

How do I conditionally format a date that falls between two dates from a list of start and end dates?

I have created a dynamic calendar in a Google Sheets document and with it a list of dates:
The days are dynamically populated with the full date but formatted to only show the day (for example, the full value of August 22nd is 8/22/2020 but it is formatted to only show 22). I would like to use conditional formatting to highlight the date ranges listed on the right. For instance, I would simply like the dates 8/12, 8/13, and 8/14 (in addition to the other date ranges in those columns) to be highlighted using conditional formatting.
I've been able to get single ranges highlighted by directly targeting the I and J cells in the range A3:G8 like so:
=AND(A3>=$I$2,A3<=$J$2) or by switching up the column value. Removing any $ symbol breaks the conditional formatting.
I know this is not correct to get each range in the list to appear, but this is the only way I could get any ranges to work. Obviously I don't want to go one by one, but nothing else I've tried has worked. I've spent the last 5 hours scouring the internet and have come up with nothing like this problem. I have tried too many things to list here, and nothing has worked.
FWIW, this is my test data set. My full data set is much larger, is not sorted by start date, and has some start dates missing. I could potentially clean up the missing start dates if necessary, but my final dataset can't be sorted.
Ideally, the final product should look something like this:
Try
=SUMPRODUCT((A1<=$J$2:$J)*(A1>=$I$2:$I)*(A1<>""))>0
You can add as many rows as you wish.
Explanation
In this formula, you have 3 conditions
=SUMPRODUCT(condition1 * condition2 * condition3)
If one condition is false, you will get 0 (for instance truefalsetrue = 0 )
If all three conditions are true, you will get something > 0, that means that the date is not null and between a range of dates

Google Sheets SUMIFS different criteria with checkbox

i've the following formula the problem i've is, this isn't working as it should be.
=SUMIFS(E9:14,$I$16:$I,FALSE(),$H$16:$H,G8)
E9:E14 is the part which should be summed up when the checkbox in I16:I = FALSE and if the name matches in H16:H from G8. My problem is I am getting this error
The array arguments of "SUMIFS" vary in size
My question would be, how do I get this exact formula to work? Exactly these areas have to be covered and cannot be changed, otherwise everything else is broken.

You need to adjust your ranges. Here's how =SUMIFS() works and then you'll see why you need to adjust the function.
=SUMIFS() looks for ranges and then applies the logic. So when you are telling the function to summarise E9:E14 it interprets it as:
SUM(E9,E10,E11,E12,E13,E14)
provided the following conditions. The conditions will tell the function whether to include each of the components (i.e. E9,...,E14).
Whether a condition is met or not is decided using a simple boolean (true/false) array. This could for example be I9:I14=FALSE which is interpreted as the array
{IF(I9=FALSE),IF(I10=FALSE),...,IF(I14=FALSE)}
resulting in an array similar to this:
{TRUE,TRUE,FALSE,FALSE,FALSE,TRUE}
(assuming the conditions I9, I10 and I14 are met but not the other three. The same is done for the second condition (the values in column H being equal to the value in G8, resulting in another array similar to this:
{TRUE,FALSE,FALSE,TRUE,FALSE,TRUE}
(assuming that only the values in H9, H12 and H14 are equal to G8.
When the function compares the two condition arrays and returns an aggregate array similar to this:
{TRUE,FALSE,FALSE,FALSE,FALSE,TRUE}
because only for the first and the last value the conditions are met. Therefore the =SUM function becomes like this:
SUM(E9,FALSE,FALSE,FALSE,FALSE,E14)
where FALSE = 0 so it returns
=SUM(E9,E14)
Here's where you get into trouble
You try to pass the function conditional arrays that are of a different size to the sum array (E9:E14), in effect asking it to compare apples and the age of your neighbour. What you need to do is to create the calculation you have in column E in a new column in rows 24 down and use that as the sum range in =SUMIFS().

sort records using string column by converting it to datetime

I have a string column in which I am storing a value like this "2015-11-04 09:09:00 PM". For a particular reason I have not considered it as a datetime column. Now I just want to order the records according to its ascending order. When I do a simple sort using order, I am not getting the expected output.
Help!
try this:
Model.all.sort_by{|m| m.field_name.to_datetime}

How to sort a TEXT Date Column in sharepoint?

I have data :- 31-May-07
Its in a calculated column of the list. The method I used to get it :- =IF(FDate="","",TEXT(FDate,"dd-mmm-yy")) {FDate is a DateTime type of column. The returned value is stored in a "Single Line of Text" column type.}
I am now unable to sort that column as its Text now and sorting is done on basis of strings.
I need to sort this column on basis of Date.
Any help ?
Thanks!!
I'm not familiar with Sharepoint but this looks like a pure Excel question. I presume you don't really want to convert the date into text. Let it be a date and just change the cell format.
