Could anybody please let me know why the following code isn't working when i am using with Jquery mobile JS
http://jsfiddle.net/znz17ctm/7/
This is my code
<div role="main" class="ui-content oms-content" id="dd">
<div class="myactivelabelsWrap" id="result"></div>
</div>
var response = {
"Restaurants": [{
"RestrntArea": "Haii",
"cust_loc_id": "374"
}, {
"RestrntArea": "rerrrwe",
"cust_loc_id": "373"
}]
}
showLabels();
function showLabels() {
//$("#result").html("");
var favoriteresultag = '';
for (var i = 0; i < response.Restaurants.length; i++) {
var name = response.Restaurants[i].RestrntArea;
if (name) {
favoriteresultag +=
'<div data-role="collapsible" data-inset="false" class="my-collaspible"><h3>' +
name +
' <a class="icon-pencil-1 labelEditIcon "></a></h3></div>';
}
}
$("#result").append(favoriteresultag).trigger("create");
}
$(document).ready(function() {
$('.my-collaspible').bind('expand', function() {
alert('Expanded');
});
$('.my-collaspible').bind('collapse', function() {
alert('Collapsed');
});
});
Why the collapse and expand even'ts are being captured ??
Instead of document ready i tried with al the page events of mobile . But no luck .
From your fiddle I can't tell which version of jQM you are using. You have checked version 1.3 but then added the 1.4 css. Assumin version 1.4, I have updated your fiddle:
FIDDLE
Basically, you need to use event delegation to attach the events because the collapsibles do not exist at the time of the bind. Also the event names are actually collapsibleexpand and collapsiblecollapse.
So use on() instead of bind() by handling the event on the parent div and delegating it to all items with class my-collapsible that exist now or added dynamically:
$("#result").on('collapsibleexpand', '.my-collaspible', function () {
alert('Expanded');
});
$("#result").on('collapsiblecollapse', '.my-collaspible', function () {
alert('Collapsed');
});

I need help with an Intel XDK project.
After research I was succesfull to create an autocomplete form.
However, if the user do not select the value from filter list,
and enter the value manually, it is not saved to the variable.
It would be possible to select the value in "data-lastval".
Here is the code that appears in DOM. But with all the research I do, I cannot understand, how to fetch this content of data-lastval and put in into a variable. On selection of the list item it goes saved to a hidden input field and can be stored to localstorage. I need help in building this javascript or jquery mobile selector, like var xstreet = ...
"If"-logic will decide, that the hidden field was empty, and then put "xstreet" instead in this.
<div class="ui-input-search ui-shadow-inset ui-input-has-clear ui-body-e ui-corner-all">
<input data-type="search" placeholder="street" data-lastval="2323">
Clear text</div>
Code in src:
<div class="widget uib_w_15 form1widths labelwhite form1forms streetfield" data-uib="jquery_mobile/input" data-ver="0" id="streetfield"><input type="hidden" id="xd">
<ul class="autocomplete" data-role="listview" data-inset="true" data-filter="true"
data-filter-placeholder="street" data-filter-theme="e"></ul>
</div>
Code in the head:
<script>
$('#streetfield ul').listview();
var gcity = window.localStorage.getItem("city");
$(document).on( "pageinit", "#form", function() {
$(".autocomplete").on("listviewbeforefilter", function(e, data ) {
var $ul=$(this);
var value = $( data.input ).val();
var dropdownContent = "" ;
$ul.html("") ;
if ( value && value.length > 2 ) {
var response = ['data1','data2','data3'];
$('.autocomplete').show();
$ul.html( "<li><div class='ui-loader'><span class='ui-icon ui-icon-loading' ></span></div></li>" );
$ul.listview( "refresh" );
$.each(response, function( index, val ) {
dropdownContent += "<li>" + val + "</li>";
$ul.html( dropdownContent );
$ul.listview( "refresh" );
$ul.trigger( "updatelayout");
});
}
});
});
$(document).on( "click", ".autocomplete li", function() {
var selectedItem = $(this).html();
$(this).parent().parent().find('input').val(selectedItem);
$('.autocomplete').hide();
});
</script>
Well, nobody helped. I think, this may be the solution.
I found it in an other case.
var x = $(#id).attr('data-lastval')
maybe it can help somebody.
fellows! I'm doing some frontend work using doT.js for generating content and jquery-ui for displaying tooltips.
{{##def.defboardtooltip:
<div class='tooltip'>
<!-- some html code -->
<a id='bdetails' href='#'>Click for details</a></div>
</div>
#}}
And how it is used:
<div class="participant" title="{{#def.defboardtooltip}}">
I'm trying to add the event to the a element with jquery as such ():
$(document).ready(function () {
// ...enter code here
$('#bdetails').click(function (e) {
// some code
console.log('fired');
});
});
And I never see the "fired". I'm confused.
jQuery Event delegates are your friend here.
Try:
$(function()
{
$(document).on('click', '#bdetails', function(e)
{
var a = $(this);
});
});
This will filter the event to just your #bdetails element, you can use any valid jQuery seletor here also; e.g., 'a' to delegate all anchor tag clicks.
I'm trying to pull JSON feeds from a yahoo pipes source into my jQuery Mobile project using Handlebars.js with jQuery's ajax method.
This method works without Handlebars, but there are some limitations. It doesn't show up in jquerymobile listview format, instead it pops out like a normal bullet list. Here's the source:
var pipeURL = "http://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/pipe.run?_id=mu3NkfY_3BGtncSIJhOy0Q&_render=json";
$.ajax({
url : pipeURL,
dataType : "json",
success : function(data) {
console.log(data);
var html = '<ul data-role="listview" id="all-posts-two" data-filter="" data-count-theme="c">';
$.each(data.value.items, function(i, item) {
html += "<li>" + item.title + "</li>";
});
html += "</ul>";
//Add the feed to the page
$("#PostsList").empty().html(html);
}
});
Here's the source for the other method I've been trying to use with Handlebars but obviously I'm missing something somewhere.
$.ajax({
url : pipeURL,
dataType : "json",
success : function(data) {
//line to check the received data on the console
console.log(data);
//handlebars area
var source = $("#posts-template").html();
var template = Handlebars.compile(source);
var blogData = template(data);
$("#all-posts").append(blogData);
$("#all-posts").trigger("create");
dfd.resolve(data);
},
error : function(data) {
// console.log(data);
}
});
Here's the html source for the template
<ul data-role="listview" id="all-posts" data-filter=""></ul>
<script id="posts-template" type="text/x-handlebars-template">
{{#each value.items}}
<li data-postid="{{ID}}">
<a data-transition="slide" href="#">
<p>{{{title}}}</p>
</a>
</li>
{{/each}}
</script>
Anyone, please help me out please
From what I can see you are using an older version of jQuery Mobile (lower then 1.4).
Do it like this:
var pipeURL = "http://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/pipe.run?_id=mu3NkfY_3BGtncSIJhOy0Q&_render=json";
$.ajax({
url : pipeURL,
dataType : "json",
success : function(data) {
console.log(data);
var html = '<ul data-role="listview" id="all-posts-two" data-filter="" data-count-theme="c">';
$.each(data.value.items, function(i, item) {
html += "<li>" + item.title + "</li>";
});
html += "</ul>";
//Add the feed to the page
$("#PostsList").empty().html(html);
$('#all-posts-two').listview('refresh');
}
});
Look at this line:
$('#all-posts-two').listview('refresh');
It will enhance dynamically added listview, of course there's one more thing, you need need to trigger it after whole dynamic list has been done and not on every li element, it will fail in this case. In your next example you are using this line:
$("#all-posts").trigger("create");
It will fail because trigger('create') is used to enhance whole data-role="content" not just part of it so as such it should be used only on data-role="content" div.
Read more about it in this other answer.
Or take a look at my blog article, there you will find a working example of listview created from remote JSON data.
Update:
If you are using jQuery Mobile 1.4 try this line:
$('#all-posts-two').enhanceWithin();
.enhanceWithin() is method introduced in jQuery Mobile 1.4 to replace all other methods.
Update 2
This question is finally answered in another question, or you can find it here with working example:
I have Ckeditor in my view and I dynamicly get editor value and show them in divs. I tried many combinaiton of defining(val,html,tex, etc) like this:
CKEDITOR.on('instanceCreated', function (e) {
e.editor.on('contentDom', function () {
e.editor.document.on('keyup', function (event) {
var str = CKEDITOR.instances['editor1'].getData();
$("#mirror1").text(str);
$("#mirror2").val(str);
$("#mirror3").html(str);
$('#mirror4').val($('<div/>').html(str).text());
}
);
});
});
my divs
<div id="mirror1">
</div>
<div id="mirror2">
</div>
<div id="mirror3">
</div>
<div id="mirror4">
</div>
for exaple When I wrote <pre>int i=0;</pre>
mirror1 text= <pre>deneme</pre>
mirror2 text= null
mirror3 text= <pre>int i=0;</pre>
mirror4 text= null
I m expecting output: int i=0;
How may I do this.What is the correct syntax?. Thanks.
If you skip the jQuery part, you can do it with simple javascript:
CKEDITOR.on('instanceCreated', function (e) {
e.editor.on('contentDom', function () {
e.editor.document.on('keyup', function (event) {
var str = CKEDITOR.instances['editor1'].getData();
document.getElementById("mirror1").innerHTML = str;
}
);
});
});
But using the DOM keyup event might not be enough if you want a good mirror, I suggest you to use the onChange plugin for CKEditor (disclaimer: I wrote it) and now the mirror will update whenever the content changes:
CKEDITOR.on('instanceCreated', function (e) {
var mirror2 = document.getElementById("mirror2");
e.editor.on('change', function () {
mirror2.innerHTML = CKEDITOR.instances['editor1'].getData();
});
});
Got a slight problem trying to have jquery UI and knockout js to cohoperate. Basically I want to create an accordion with items being added from knockout through a foreach (or template).
The basic code is as follows:
<div id="accordion">
<div data-bind="foreach: items">
<h3></h3>
<div><a class="linkField" href="#" data-bind="text: link"></a></div>
</div>
</div>
Nothing impressive here... The problem is that if I do something like:
$('#accordion').accordion();
The accordion will be created but the inner div will be the header selector (first child, as default) so the effect is not the wanted one.
Fixing stuff with this:
$('#accordion').accordion({ header: 'h3' });
Seems to work better but actually creates 2 accordions and not one with 2 sections... weird.
I have tried to explore knockout templates and using "afterRender" to re-accordionise the div but to no avail... it seems to re-render only the first link as an accordion and not the second. Probably this is due to my beginner knowldge of jquery UI anyway.
Do you have any idea how to make everything work together?
I would go with custom bindings for such functionality.
Just like RP Niemeyer with an example of jQuery Accordion binding to knockoutjs http://jsfiddle.net/rniemeyer/MfegM/
I had tried to integrate knockout and the JQuery UI accordion and later the Bootstrap collapsible accordion. In both cases it worked, but I found that I had to implement a few workarounds to get everything to display correctly, especially when dynamically adding elements via knockout. The widgets mentioned aren't always aware of what is happening with regards to knockout and things can get messed up (div heights wrongly calculated etc...). Especially with the JQuery accordion it tends to rewrite the html as it sees fit, which can be a real pain.
So, I decided to make my own accordion widget using core JQuery and Knockout. Take a look at this working example: http://jsfiddle.net/matt_friedman/KXgPN/
Of course, using different markup and css this could be customized to whatever you need.
The nice thing is that it is entirely data driven and doesn't make any assumptions about layout beyond whatever css you decide to use. You'll notice that the markup is dead simple. This is just an example. It's meant to be customized.
Markup:
<div data-bind="foreach:groups" id="menu">
<div class="header" data-bind="text:name, accordion: openState, click: toggle"> </div>
<div class="items" data-bind="foreach:items">
<div data-bind="text:name"> </div>
</div>
</div>
Javascript:
ko.bindingHandlers.accordion = {
init: function (element, valueAccessor, allBindingsAccessor, viewModel, bindingContext) {
$(element).next().hide();
},
update: function (element, valueAccessor, allBindingsAccessor, viewModel, bindingContext) {
var slideUpTime = 300;
var slideDownTime = 400;
var openState = ko.utils.unwrapObservable(valueAccessor());
var focussed = openState.focussed;
var shouldOpen = openState.shouldOpen;
/*
* This following says that if this group is the one that has
* been clicked upon (gains focus) find the other groups and
* set them to unfocussed and close them.
*/
if (focussed) {
var clickedGroup = viewModel;
$.each(bindingContext.$root.groups(), function (idx, group) {
if (clickedGroup != group) {
group.openState({focussed: false, shouldOpen: false});
}
});
}
var dropDown = $(element).next();
if (focussed && shouldOpen) {
dropDown.slideDown(slideDownTime);
} else if (focussed && !shouldOpen) {
dropDown.slideUp(slideUpTime);
} else if (!focussed && !shouldOpen) {
dropDown.slideUp(slideUpTime);
}
}
};
function ViewModel() {
var self = this;
self.groups = ko.observableArray([]);
function Group(id, name) {
var self = this;
self.id = id;
self.name = name;
self.openState = ko.observable({focussed: false, shouldOpen: false});
self.items = ko.observableArray([]);
self.toggle = function (group, event) {
var shouldOpen = group.openState().shouldOpen;
self.openState({focussed: true, shouldOpen: !shouldOpen});
}
}
function Item(id, name) {
var self = this;
self.id = id;
self.name = name;
}
var g1 = new Group(1, "Group 1");
var g2 = new Group(2, "Group 2");
var g3 = new Group(3, "Group 3");
g1.items.push(new Item(1, "Item 1"));
g1.items.push(new Item(2, "Item 2"));
g2.items.push(new Item(3, "Item 3"));
g2.items.push(new Item(4, "Item 4"));
g2.items.push(new Item(5, "Item 5"));
g3.items.push(new Item(6, "Item 6"));
self.groups.push(g1);
self.groups.push(g2);
self.groups.push(g3);
}
ko.applyBindings(new ViewModel());
Is there any reason why you can't apply the accordion widget to the inner div here? For example:
<div id="accordion" data-bind="foreach: items">
<h3></h3>
<div><a class="linkField" href="#" data-bind="text: link"></a></div>
</div>
I attempted the accepted solution and it worked. Just had to make a little change since i was getting following error
Uncaught Error: cannot call methods on accordion prior to initialization; attempted to call method 'destroy'
just had to add following and it worked
if(typeof $(element).data("ui-accordion") != "undefined"){
$(element).accordion("destroy").accordion(options);
}
for details please see Knockout accordion bindings break
You could try this to template it, similar to this:
<div id="accordion" data-bind="myAccordion: { },template: { name: 'task-template', foreach: ¨Tasks, afterAdd: function(elem){$(elem).trigger('valueChanged');} }"></div>
<script type="text/html" id="task-template">
<div data-bind="attr: {'id': 'Task' + TaskId}, click: $root.SelectedTask" class="group">
<h3><b><span data-bind="text: TaskId"></span>: <input name="TaskName" data-bind="value: TaskName"/></b></h3>
<p>
<label for="Description" >Description:</label><textarea name="Description" data-bind="value: Description"></textarea>
</p>
</div>
</script>
"Tasks()" is a ko.observableArray with populated with task-s, with attributes
"TaskId", "TaskName","Description", "SelectedTask" declared as ko.observable();
"myAccordion" is a
ko.bindingHandlers.myAccordion = {
init: function (element, valueAccessor) {
var options = valueAccessor();
$(element).accordion(options);
$(element).bind("valueChanged", function () {
ko.bindingHandlers.myAccordion.update(element, valueAccessor);
});
...
}
What I did was, since my data was being loaded from AJAX and I was showing a "Loading" spinner, I attached the accordion to ajaxStop like so:
$(document).ajaxStart(function(){$("#cargando").dialog("open");}).ajaxStop(function(){$("#cargando").dialog("close");$("#acordion").accordion({heightStyle: "content"});});
Worked perfectly.
