I am using the Ant to build my project and run the testng tests. I am using jenkins to call the Ant targets to run the TestNG tests. Also have installed the TestNG plugin on jenkins running on same machine where my project is.
On completion of the Jenkins job, I am getting following and TestNG results are not generated.
C:\Users\Administrator.jenkins\jobs\Intel EAMP Automation\workspace>exit 0
TestNG Reports Processing: START
Looking for TestNG results report in workspace using pattern: test-output/testng-results.xml
Did not find any matching files.
Finished: SUCCESS
My project folder is at location: E:\Project Folder\Framework\Project
which also has build.xml and testng.xml file along with the test-output folder(containing testng-results.xml file).
Please suggest how to configure jenkins to show the TestNG results...
As explain here, you have to use forward slash instead of back slash on Windows.

Currently it consumes so much time to rerun the filed test cases from Jenkins in My LOCAL MACHINE.And most of the test would pass locally .
Is there anything I can do to cut short the time ?
TestNG generates all of the artifacts viz.,
Html reports
Emailable report
JUnit styled xml reports
TestNG XML reports
testng-failed.xml
by default in the output directory of your project. If its not defined, TestNG defaults to test-output folder.
When tests are run via build tools such as maven wherein you leverage the surefire plugin, then this output directory gets configured to point to target/surefire-reports directory.
So your testng-failed.xml if it gets generated, will be available in your $WORKSPACE\target\surefire-reports directory (Here $WORKSPACE represents your Jenkins job's workspace)

How do i make jenkins locate this testng-results.xml?
Thanks,
Raj
Look into Jenkins Console Output, it should report where the build is running (so called WORKSPACE) and where TestNG Results Plugin attempts to locate the results file:
The path to the TestNG results file must be relative to the WORKSPACE and have the syntax of Ant FileSet
If you're uncertain regarding how to properly build the path to the test artifacts - post the full paths to WORKSPACE and the testng-results.xml / emailable-report.html and we will help you to come up with the correct definitions.
In the meantime you could use wildcard paths like:
**/testng-results.xml
so Jenkins will scan its WORKSPACE recursively looking for the testng-results.xml file in all available locations
Your install command also looks suspicious, normally you should not be putting your test artifacts to the Maven repository so you might want to use mvn test or mvn verify instead.

I have selenium project created using Maven. I have included surefire plugin also . When i execute the "mvn test" command using jenkins . I am not able to see the test-output folder . Could you please help me to fix it
TestNG would create the output folder as test-output only when running it via the IDE such as eclipse or IntelliJ.
When you run TestNG tests via Maven using surefire plugin, then the output folder is controlled by surefire plugin which is passed on to TestNG as part of the initialization.
By default surefire reports are available under target/surefire-reports folder where target folder is the default build output folder.
You can customize or change this folder value via https://maven.apache.org/surefire/maven-surefire-plugin/test-mojo.html#reportsDirectory
After executing test script then
Right click on your project folder into eclipse and click on refresh
button. test-output folder will appear in TestNG
In my project workspace, the test-results.xml file exists inside the target\surefire-reports\testng-results.xml directory. But Jenkins fails to read the XML file and gives below error on console.
TestNG Reports Processing: START
Looking for TestNG results report in workspace using pattern: **\target\surefire-reports\testng-results.xml
Did not find any matching files.
To ensure the file isn't too old, I had checked that the test-results.xml (and other files) belong to the latest test run. The Jenkins server is running on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS.
I'm running my tests in this manner: My project root directory has a run_tests.sh script which looks like this:
#!/bin/bash
if [ "$1" = "" ]; then
echo "Please provide a valid suite XML file name."
else
mvn clean
mvn compile
mvn clean test -Dsurefire.suiteXmlFiles="$1"
fi
I just pass the suite XML file name as a parameter to this script in Jenkins (execute shell).
Please help.
I found the solution for this.
Go to Configure of your Job
in General Tab, you may find
Advanced Button, Click on this
Check the check box of "Use custom
workspace", under this you see the Directory text box, here you copy
your Selenium Workspace Folder, for example mine is
"E:\eclipse\eclipse-workspace\WebDriveTest\"
Scroll down the page
under the Post-build Actions, Publish TestNG Results, TestNG XML
report pattern : give like this
"**/target/surefire-reports/testng-results.xml" (check this path in
the same workspace).
I hope this will help you!.
You should be using / instead of \ (since you mentioned that your Jenkins is running on a UNIX box)
Krishnan, in the testng-users Google Group, pointed out that it could be an issue with my Jenkins project workspace, and it was the same.
I changed the default workspace in my Jenkins project.
So I've added the path "$HOME/myWorkspace/myProject/" in my Jenkins project workspace, and "**/target/surefire-reports/testng-results.xml" in my TestNG setting in the same Jenkins project, and it works!
Thank you Krishan for your help.
Please see my answer in another post here, it should be very clear.
In short, it is caused by the current directory was changed to the default Jenkins workspace, you need set your custom workspace in the Job's Config.
I agree with Krishnan Mahadevan usage of '\' instead of '/' while providing the path for TestNG Report also solved my problem.
Extremely important thing to note here:
When providing path for Root POM in the build section '\' is used
C:\Users\harsh\eclipse-workspace\ProjTwo3\pom.xml
When providing path for TestNG XML report pattern in Publish TestNG Result section
'/' is used
C:/Users/harsh/eclipse-workspace/ProjTwo3/target/surefire-reports/testng-results.xml
Console Output:
channel stopped
TestNG Reports Processing: START
Looking for TestNG results report in workspace using pattern:
C:/Users/harsh/eclipse-workspace/ProjTwo3/target/surefire-reports/testng-results.xml
Saving reports...

I want to run my Selenium Webdriver Maven tests in Jenkins. I've followed the tutorial: https://www.guru99.com/maven-jenkins-with-selenium-complete-tutorial.html and https://www.safaribooksonline.com/library/view/jenkins-the-definitive/9781449311155/ch04s06.html
But now, I want to run each of hundreds tests that I've written in Selenium Webdriver with Eclipse.
I use Maven to create testng.xml (where I have my Maven projects to can execute a list of tests in the same execution).
I use Eclipse to write Java to create tests in Selenium Webdriver.
I use github to import tests.
I show you my github project... I don't know how to access into the different folders to execute each testng.xml files, sorry, I'm pretty new here.
Could anybody help me with this issue?
Thanks so much!!!!
Create a freestyle Jenkins job and then go to the configuration page of your job and in Source Code Management section add the URL of your Git repo where you have kept your TestNG tests. This will help to bring the tests from the repository to your workspace.
Then go to the Build section and select Execute windows batch script if and then add the following script:
java -cp ".;/path/to/testng-x.x.x.jar;/path/to/jcommander-x.xx.jar;/path/to/test-classes" org.testng.TestNG /path/to/test.xml
For Linux use the following script with Execute shell in `Build step:
cd /path/to/test.xml
java -cp "/path/to/testng-x.x.x.jar:/path/to/bin" org.testng.TestNG testng.xml
Where /bin folder contains the compiled code for the TestNG tests.
Then save the job and run the build to execute TestNG test cases.
Note: You can find the required JAR files inside the .m2 folder.
