I need to install a grails plugin for my aplication provided from a SVN repository, but I have no Idea on how to do this. I had already done the checkout to the repository, but netbeans opens it as a new grails project.
I was reading that it can be specify it using the maven-install command in the terminal, but I don't know how to use it.
Any suggestions?
Thanks :)

We run a Bitbucket Server on version 7.21 and have recently developed a Plugin for it. Since this plugin finally reached a stable Version we wanted to integrate it into our cd/ci pipeline (bamboo).
We can build the plugin via bamboo build plan alright, but we are facing an issue when trying to deploy it.
atlas-sdk's "atlas-install-plugin" does not work for us (afaik) because we are not in the project space, but only have the built jar itself.
Is there any way to copy the jar to a specific location on the bitbucket server and it auto-deploys or something similar?
For anyone searching, I found the solution.
You can install plugins via the rest api: https://confluence.atlassian.com/confkb/installing-uninstalling-upgrading-and-downgrading-marketplace-apps-on-confluence-using-rest-api-1005343959.html
I have updated my jenkins server and see the following message for some plugins. I am not sure how to fix this. I looked at the dependencies section for that plugin and I see they are already installed. Not sure what else is missing so I can see the update available. Dependency for this is Mailer which is already installed on my server.
That is frustrating but you can try uploading plugins manually.
You can download plugins from here link to plugin storage.
Of course you have to roughly see what version of the plugin goes with your jenkins version.
Once you downloaded 'proper' plugin version, you go to manage plugins, advanced tab and there you can upload the plugin file. After that restart jenkins and check changes. You should really go to manage plugins, updated plugin tab and update selected plugins...
It could be guess work, but I'm sure after a couple of guesses you'll get to the version of Jenkins you have.
You might need to upgrade jenkins.. here are all jenkins war files:
https://get.jenkins.io/war-stable/
Last but not least... don't try to fix all dependencies.. fix those you use, rest is optional.
I could successfully install the jenkins online over my laptop. But while trying to install the jenkins offline (on my office workstation which cannot be connected to internet) the hell breaks loose.
After running the jenkins.war over command line although the jenkins was successfully installed yet some of the plugins were missing.I managed to get some help from the post How to install a plugin in Jenkins manually?
But then each of the plugins have to be individually downloaded and then copied over to my offline machine. So I had a trick.
I copied all the folders under .jenkins directory (in my online installation machine) and then copied them to my offline machine. Whoa!
It worked!
But I still get one single error:
Maven Integration Plugin V2.16 .javadoc 1.0 is missing. To fix, install v1.0 or later
So is there a way/website/pdf/repository which is a one stop solution/steps to smoothly install (read has all the required dependencies as a zip) Jenkins in offline mode. (If not, to the creators of Jenkins: Would it be a good idea to have one?)
I'm also searching for an easy way to manage the dependencies between the plugins but as far as I know there is no official tool for that.
Either you have a .zip file with all the plugins which you prepare one time or you fix the errors manually.
For your problem it should be enough to install the following .hpi file: https://updates.jenkins-ci.org/latest/javadoc.hpi (javadoc has no dependencies to other plugins)
You can download the .hpi version of plugins required and paste them in plugins folder at jenkins_home and then restart the jenkins, then you can able to use those plugins.
I looked in the Grails docs, but I could not find how to instruct the BuildConfig.groovy to tell my Grails app to get a plugin from a github repo. This is the repo I want to include, https://github.com/westonplatter/backbonejs-grails-plugin.
You have to clone (or fork based on your need) the repo and build the plugin to create a zip and then use the plugin as a plugin dependency in BuildConfig.
Once cloned, you can use grails maven-install on the plugin so that the zip would be available in local .m2 repo if you have one. Follow this for steps and this for a similar answer.
Otherwise, you can directly use the plugin in your app by following this answer or refer Specifying Plugin Locations.
I downloaded and installed the paypal plugin http://www.grails.org/PayPal+Plugin using netbeans. Though the website mentioned there will be a controller and domain class created. However, I don't see it. Can someone advice if I installed correctly?
The Controller and domain class are located within the plugin itself. Browse the source of the plugin to see them.
The plugin is probably located in a hidden directory under your profile. Not the Netbeans project folder. For instance on grails 2.0 on Linux:
/home/user/.grails/2.0.0.M2/projects/testapp/plugins/paypal-0.6.4.
Each plugin is like a complete project with directory structure.
Your project has use of the plugin when it's installed, and includes it when you build it.
