How I could notify the user of AppStore that only iOS 7.xx is supported by my application?
Is it possible to set the maximum iOS version for the application in AppStore?
The application failed on iOS 8 and I can't fix it so far...
You cannot set the maximum version for an app on the App Store. You can just add to the description of your app that it won't work on iOS and hope that the users look at the description. But you should really work on fixing your app for iOS 8 and release a new version of the app as soon as possible.

We have set the minimum version of our App to iOS 10 in the Deployment Target setting in its build target in Xcode. I want to confirm that someone running iOS 9 cannot download the app. The app is on the App Store already.
I have a device which I would like to load iOS 9 on in order to test this. I checked Xcode and I can only download iOS10 on the simulator. There are sites all over the place with .ipsw files I can download, however they are for jailbroken phones - they are not signed by Apple. I do not want to jailbreak the device. Anyway I think that would not even work as I couldn't get to the App Store anyway.
There are a few iOS device models where the maximum iOS version supported is iOS 9, such as the iPhone 4s, and equivalent vintage iPad. Apple still signs iOS re-installs on such devices. You might be able to borrow or buy a used one fairly cheaply, and use that for Deployment target testing.
There is nothing to confirm. An app with a deployment target of iOS 10 cannot under any circumstances run on iOS 9. It won’t be downloaded to an iOS 9 device. But you cannot prevent the downloading of the app in some other way (though it still cannot run on an iOS 9 device). So just believe in reality and move on.
What is the current minimum required iOS SDK I must target in order to successfully publish an app to the app store and where can I find this information in the future?
Apple publishes updates to their requirements for iOS app submissions here: https://developer.apple.com/news/
Here is one of the news items where Apple updated their submission requirements: https://developer.apple.com/news/?id=05072018a
But check this site for any newer updates on the requirements.
Now you can submit app for iOS 6.0 to Latest iOS 9+.
Long back I submitted an app by using xocde4.5.2 with iOS 6.1 as base SDK. Now I need give version support for my old application.
I don't have much time to support iOS7 by using xcode-5. After goggling I came to know that, We can fix base SDK to iOS6.1 in xcode-5. I can able to run it on my iOS7 device with iOS6 appearance.
My question is, does apple accept this kind of applications( xocde-5 with iOS6 SDK)?
No. For now all applications should be distributed with iOS 7 SDK support and with new Xcode 5.1.1. if you are uploading through Xcode.
Unfortunately NO Apple will reject your application. On December 17th 2013 Apple made an announcement stating that any application submitted to the Apple App Store Review process from the 1st February 2014 must be submitted using xcode 5 and must be iOS 7 optimized.
You can find this announcement HERE but all it says is
Starting February 1, new apps and app updates submitted to the App Store must be built with the latest version of Xcode 5 and must be optimized for iOS 7. Learn more about preparing your apps by reviewing the iOS Human Interface Guidelines.
So you will need to fix any iOS 7 issues before you submit your application.
I'm aware that if I build our app on Xcode 4.5, We won't be able to submit our app to the App Store not to mention we won't even be able to run the thing on the device with iOS3.x.
Not what I want to clarify is that, if we decided to still support iOS3.x do we just use Xcode 4.3 or any Xcode lower than 4.5 and voila I can submit it to the app store and Apple won't give a care and approve the app if it supports iOS3.x or not since it was built using a lower version of Xcode?
As long as you provided an iPhone 5 screenshot, you should be able to submit app that backward supports iOS 3.x .
But why do you want to support iOS 3.x ? Not many devices are using this iOS version .
I have a app on App Store supporting IOS4+ device. However, I really wanted to use some new API feature in ios5 and decided to bump my base SDK to IOS5.
My questions is, what is the setting needed on iTunesConnect? Does Apple allow me to do this? What will happen to those clients running my app on IOS4? Will they just stop receiving update notification from app store?
If Apple forbidden the change, what is the best option for me? I don't want to make another app which has the same interface/functionality but with only iOS5+ device support..
All you need to do is update your project by setting the Deployment Target to your new minimum version. In this case, set the Deployment Target to iOS 5.0 or 5.1. Build and test. When your app is approved, it will only be usable on devices with the version of iOS you selected, or later.
Existing users still on iOS 4 will still be able to use their existing app. But they can't install any further updates.
