I am new to IOS swift development. I used to work with previous Xcode 6 beta.
I have downloaded the Xcode 6.0.1 and I can not get this to work Xcode Version: 6.0.1
I am still getting "'MyViewController' does not confirm to protocol 'UITableViewDataSource' " when I try to run the example.
Can someone please help me? I have gone through other issues on this site and added all the required functions for "UITableViewDataSource";

You need to look at the whole error message. This specific message includes additional information about which methods are missing:
Type 'MyViewController' does not conform to protocol 'UITableViewDataSource'
Protocol requires function 'tableView(_:numberOfRowsInSection:)' with type '(UITableView, numberOfRowsInSection: Int) -> Int'
Candidate has non-matching type '(UITableView!, numberOfRowsInSection: Int) -> Int'
So... your numberOfRowsInSection takes an optional UITableView, and should take a required UITableView (this is a change they made between 6 and 6.1, all UITableView delegate and datasource methods now take required tableView and indexPath values)

When you create the subclass for UITableView please refer the above code, you will not get any error.
In my case, i named my UITableView as tableView. That caused this same error:
'MyViewController' does not conform to protocol
'UITableViewDataSource'
including another error:
Candidate is not a function
And changed tableview name to something else, error is gone.

It makes no sense that you are using a UITableViewController as the data source and delegate for your view controller's table view. Your own view controller should be the table view's data source and delegate.

You don't need to make a separate class for UITableView. Just in your ViewController class implement protocols of UITableViewDelegate and UITableViewDataSource and then implement delegate methods.
I think your code should be like

I had a similar issue in that the data would not populate for my programmatic UITableView. This was because I was using a delegate/dataSource without a strong reference. Once I kept a reference to it (I had one class implementing both UITableViewDataSource and UITableViewDelegate), the data was populated.

I have created a slide out menu using Swift. I have done this many times before, but when I created it today, I get this error (see screenshot). It could just be a simple mistake I have made.

The method does not override any method of the superclass because the signature is wrong.
The correct signature is
override func tableView(tableView: UITableView,
cellForRowAtIndexPath indexPath: NSIndexPath) -> UITableViewCell {
All parameters are non-optional types.
And use also the recommended method
let cell = tableView.dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier(cellIdentifier,
forIndexPath: indexPath)
which also returns always a non-optional type
Make sure that your class implements UITableViewDelegate and UITableViewDataSource.

I created a Uitableview in a ViewController and I want to set dynamically the size of each cell containing a subview. I try a lot of technics, the only one is using this function :
