Where can I find the SCR file for HP Fortify? - fortify

I have the following error popping up when I try to run HP Fortify on my RAD 7.5 developer tool's project.
This is because it cannot find the SCA executable file.
Where do I need to point my developer to in the file directory for it to find the SCA?

I've figured it out.
First of all, when installing HP Fortify, I have to make sure to include the Eclipse Plugin. This I was already doing.
Second, after installation when running my first Scan, I have to locate the 'scourceanalyzer.exe' file on my computer.
In a standard installation to the C drive, the location of the file will be:
C:\Program Files\HP_Fortify\HP_Fortify_SCA_and_Apps_4.00\bin\sourceanalyzer.exe
You'll have to select "OK" when the second image I posted in this question pops up (the one that asks you if you want to locate the SCA Executable), and then you will have to navigate to the address of that file manually and select it.

It looks like you might need to re-install.

lua ZeroBrane Studio failed to initialize lua511.dll not found

First time user of Lua and installed version 5.3.5 then tried to install the IDE - ZeroBrane Studio.
Unfortunately when I start ZeroBrane Studio it says the following:
Failed to initialize editor
The lua511.dll could not be found or loaded, please check the working directory of the application.
There is something completely wrong, as there is no lua511.dll, only lua51.dll, and I can find no references to lua511.dll anywhere in the project or generated binary files.
If you are launching the IDE using zbstudio.exe, you can also try launching it using bin\lua src\main.lua command to see if it makes any difference. You can also try launching bin\lua to see if it launches (as it depends on the same lua51.dll library).
If you are launching it using a shortcut, then check its "Properties" and set "Start in" to the location where you installed the IDE (the location of zbstudio.exe file).
As my experience, I have never seen a lua511.dll and if it says that then there must be something wrong with your program.
There should only be a lua51.dll, although if you'd like, you can just rename it to lua511.dll but there should be a more professional fix towards it.
As this just may be a grammar issue, make sure your lua51.dll is actually there, or if it might be in the wrong directory. If it's in the right directory or if its there then do reinstall it with common troubleshooting tips.

Xamarin Archive Manager fails with: The specified path, file name, or both are too long

When I try to create an archive from Visual Studio to distribute my Xamarin Android App, the Archive Manager fails with the message:
"Failed to create App archive 'MyCompanyName.Client.Droid'.
The specified path, file name, or both are too long. The fully qualified file name must be less than 260 characters, and the directory name must be less than 248 characters."
Unfortunately the Archive Manager does not tell which file is causing the problem.
I already tried to move the project and the nuget packages to a root folder but this doesn'n help.
If you're using Windows 10 Anniversary Update, it does not hurt to enable long path inside Windows.
Press Windows key + R to open the Run dialog. Type gpedit.msc.
Navigate to: Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Filesystem
Double click on "Enable Win32 long paths". Enable it.
Alternatively, if you don't see this option click on NTFS > Enable NTFS long path.
Restart Visual Studio 2017. Done!
source
In my case in using Visual Studio 2017, when I saw the error, I just closed Archive Manager. Then when I reopened Archive Manager, the error is gone and I can continue to distribute the package. It works everytime for me, hopefully it works for you too.
It took me quite some time, hope this Q&A will save others this time.
It turned out that the Archive Manager is using quite a long path for the archive.
Because the project name included our long company name, some (fully qualified) file names became too long, like:
C:\Users\marcel\AppData\Local\Xamarin\Mono for Android\Archives\2016-12-06\MyLongCompanyName.Client.Droid 12-06-16 12.03 PM.apkarchive\mSYM\com.mylongcompanyname.client.droid.apk.mSYM\11b0326b39654e09a35393ebb19e1b1f\MyLongCompanyName.Client.CachedRepositories.dll.mdb
Changing the project name to a short name solved the problem.
There is a different answer on StackOverflow that IMO addresses the root issue. It worked for me and I recommend it.
Today I encountered the same problem
compiling the package is up and running again after deleting all of the items contained in the folder:
C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Xamarin\Mono for Android\Archives
I hope it help you

when using vs2013,Failed to parse manifest; but worked well on vs2010

recently, My company need me to do something on application cache, and I read this article: http://www.codemag.com/Article/1112051, I followed his steps, but it cannot work by using vs2013, it will show you the right page, but when you press f12 in chrome, it will show some error:Application Cache Error event: "Failed to parse manifest localhost:xxxxx/Home/manifest", and actually app cache didn't work. but when I use vs2010 it works just fine! since vs2013 has a lot more files in the mvc project, I cannot figure out what's wrong. Now I need some vs2013 tools which are not included in vs2010, so I really need the vs2013 version of this app cache program. It's quite in a hurry, can anyone help me? thanks a lot!
Please follow these steps to see if it helps.
Step 1: Run Windows System File Checker("sfc /scannow")
It allows you to scan for file corruption and restore Windows system files such as DebuggerProxy.dll. If System File Checker finds a problem with DebuggerProxy.dll or other critical system file, it will attempt to replace the problematic files from DLL Cache (%WinDir%\System32\Dllcache). If the DebuggerProxy.dll file is not in the DLL Cache, or the DLL Cache is corrupted, you will be prompted to insert the Windows installation disc to recover the original files.
To run System File Checker:
1.Click the Start button.
2.Type "cmd" in the search box... DO NOT hit ENTER yet!
3.While holding CTRL-Shift on your keyboard, hit ENTER.
4.You will be prompted with a permission dialog box.
5.Click Yes.
6.A black box will open with a blinking cursor.
7.Type "sfc /scannow" and hit ENTER.
8.System File Checker will begin scanning for DebuggerProxy.dll and other system file problems (be patient - the system scan may take a while).
9.Follow the on-screen commands.
Step 2:Make sure your ISO installation file is correct.
You can download the ISO file from the website below.
http://www.microsoft.com/en-hk/download/details.aspx?id=40787]
Before you install it, I suggest you use this tool http://support.microsoft.com/kb/841290 to verify hash of the ISO. Any discrepancy would indicate that the file was corrupted. Here is a blog about how to use the tool.
The sha1 value of ISO is "E61419E51F42254EE07DECF628B85C9861286250".
Then try reinstall it.

OpenCV installation in windows

I am trying to install opencv in windows. The manual (secn 1.4) says "choose a build [e.g. vs2010, win32] and download", but there is only the full executable file available (for 2.4.2). So I downloaded that file, which then expanded into several directories. However, this directory list does not match what is shown under item 7 of the section - mainly the "bin" directory is missing. So I guess something more has to be done besides just clicking on the executable.
Under "build" dir, I see x86/vc10/bin (I am guessing that vc10 stands for visual c++ 2010). But how do I install these and link visual studio 2010 with it? The manual only says to setup "OPENCV_DIR" variable which should have "bin" under it, but I dont have that.
This seems like a real problem any new user would face with opencv installation. Any correct instructions and link available on how to install for windows+visual studio 2010?
Updates: Full solution posted below.
After much experimentation, I have got opencv-2.4.2(win-exe) + vstudio2010-express working together. Thanks to Abid, for providing a helpful link, an additional helpful link is http://blog.hcilab.org/bastian/2012/06/installing-opencv-2-4-windows-7-visual-studio
Here is the full list of steps:
set system var OPENCV_DIR = install_dir\build
set system var TBBROOT = tbb_install_dir
path += ;%OPENCV_DIR%\x86\vc10\bin;%TBBROOT%\bin\ia32\vc10
create empty project: File->New->Project->Win32ConsoleApp
add the following items in project->Properties:
ConfigProperties->VC++Dirs->Include: $(OPENCV_DIR)\include;$(TBBROOT)\include
Linker->General->AdditionalLibDirs: $(OPENCV_DIR)\x86\vc10\lib;$(TBBROOT)\lib\ia32\vc10
Linker->Input->AdditionalDeps: add lib items from opencv and tbb (in Debug and Release modes).
for details of which files to include, see http://docs.opencv.org/doc/tutorials/introduction/windows_visual_studio_Opencv/windows_visual_studio_Opencv.html#windows-visual-studio-how-to
download image-display test file from above site, save it in the project dir. But the Test.cpp in that page requires more inputs, so it does not work easily. Instead, use the code from http://docs.opencv.org/doc/tutorials/introduction/display_image/display_image.html#display-image
Properties->ConfigProps->Debugging->CommandArgs: mention file name to be loaded
Tools->Option->Debugging->Symbol->MS-Server=yes (this removes most of the "PDB not found" errors)
Tools->Settings->ExpertSettings=on (this also removes some errors)
copy tbb_debug.dll and tbb.dll from TBBROOT\bin\ia32\vc10 to the project dir (I dont know why these are not automatically picked up with the settings done above)
Ctrl+F5 to run (start without debugging)
i think your installation is OK. just need to configure with VS
in Project Properties > C/C++ >
Add Additional Include Directory: C:\opencv\build\include;C:\opencv\build\include\opencv
C/C++ > Linker > Input add Additional Dependencies :
C:\opencv\build\x86\vc9\lib\opencv_core231.lib
C:\opencv\build\x86\vc9\lib\opencv_flann231.lib
C:\opencv\build\x86\vc9\lib\opencv_highgui231.lib
C:\opencv\build\x86\vc9\lib\opencv_imgproc231.lib
and more if needed
add OPENCV_DIR environment variable with value C:\opencv\build\x86\vc10\bin

Error in BlackBerry_App_Descriptor.xml

I've installed Blackberry Java plugin 1.3.0.
When I create a new project BlackBerry_App_Descriptor.xml shows error.
What is the problem? Is there any environment path problem? If yes, what should to set path?
InvalidRegex: Pattern value '([a-zA-Z_]{1,63}[\s-a-zA-Z_0-9.]{0,63}[;]?)*' is not a valid regular expression
you should of course follow the hint in the error and check that none of your values in your BlackBerry_App_Descriptor.xml will fail the regex.
However, there is a very strange case whereby you will see this error regardless of your values. In fact, creating a new project straight from Eclipse will still show the error.
Turns out this could be caused by having Java JRE 7 installed on your machine. The BlackBerry plugin doesn't support this yet, Eclipse might be trying to use that.
The fix? You simply have to edit the eclipse.ini that will live in the same directory as your eclipse.exe that you use to start the IDE. Closing Eclipse and making a backup of eclipse.ini before you do this would be a good idea.
Find the line "openFile" and immediately after, add the following:
-vm
C:/Program Files/Java/jre6/bin/javaw.exe [or wherever your jre6 directory might be]
Cross your fingers and restart Eclipse.
Rebuild your projects.
