I want to scroll a UITableView cell by cell (like the date picker, for example), so that the first visible row is always displayed entirely. How can I do that?
Use the scroll view delegate method scrollViewWillEndDragging:withVelocity:targetContentOffset: (your table view delegate is already the scroll view delegate) so that you can inspect the proposed targetContentOffset and modify it to ensure that the target first row is fully visible.

i have table view for showing product detail and each part is tableview cell,
in one of my tableview cell that is showing sizes and stores that has that size like this
and
when the user click on one of collection view items tableview expand to show stores.
if i update root tableviewcell constraints i need to reload that cell
after reloading collection scroll will rest
i tried beginUpdates and endUpdates for root tableview after changing constraint it will work but in some situation it will show a blank cell
what's wrong in my idea
in summary :
how to expand tableview cell without reloading and refresh cell view .i think both questions are equal
Change the constraints in the tableView and add to model the currently selected collectionViewCell and scroll to it with no animation in collectionViewCell awakeFromNib method the default value is 0 which means no animation will happen [the model I mean here is the model of the tableView from which you display every tableViewCell]
I have a custom table view cell. I have a UIView in the tableview cell that is shown only when the table is expanded. I toggle the height for table view cell each time on tap to show the UIView. I also need to detect clicks on some of the components of UIView.
->tablecell1
-->UIView1 height h1
->tablecell2
-->UIView2 height h2
The cell height of the cell should vary according to the size of UIView. Currently I am calling
tableView:heightForRowAtIndexPath: for varying the height on cell click. However this doesn't work if the UIViews are of variable heights and the bigger view gets clipped.
Is there a better way of solving it?
Ok so real quick tableView:heightForRowAtIndexPath: shall not be called by your controller.
The biggest problem I always run into when dynamically sizing cells is that that heightForRowAtIndexPath is called very early on in the table layout process, so essentially the height of each cell must be know prior to asking the tableview to layout. Anyway I am going to assume that you are using a custom table view cell and have placed a UIView inside there... If you haven't, do.
First: Throw a class function into the CustomTableViewCell called heightNeededForTableViewCellWithView:(UIView *)view and determine the height you would want, handle the condition where view is nil and what the default size shall be.
Second: Call this class function when tableView:heightForRowAtIndexPath: is called and since you own the datasource in your controller you can dynamically return the heightNeededForTableViewCellWithView:viewAtRow based off the view you would want to show for that row!
Third: When a user taps a cell, remember which index they tapped and call [tableView reloadData] which will call tableView:heightForRowAtIndexPath:
First off I have a custom tableview subclass that uses a uiview subclass with drawRect: to handle the cell's content view. Now since I need a the cell's selected to be a certain color I set the cell's selectedBackgroundView in willDisplayCell:
This works great until I need to scroll to and highlight/select (but not call didSelectCell) upon showing the tableview. When I try to call selectRowAtIndexPath: the tableview scrolls to the cell but the selected color is only shown in the cell where the contentView isn't (by the disclosure arrow).
Now I believe this is because selectRowAtIndexPath: highlights the cell then scrolls to it. And willDisplayCell needs to be invoked before the cell is highlighted. However willDisplayCell is called "only when animating rows as they slide in or out" i.e. after the highlight and before the scroll.
I confirmed this by calling scrollToRowAtIndexPath: then a selectRowAtIndex:animated:scrollPosition: wrapped in a perfomSelector:afterDelay:
How do I fix this without using perfomSelector:afterDelay: ?
I have a UITableView in which I have several custom cells and my last cell contains a UISearchbar in it. I have wired up the appropriate delegates and referencing outlets and can get the keyboard to show up.
The problem I am facing is that the searchbar is at the very bottom of my tableview i.e. it is part of the very last cell. So even though the keyboard gets shown, the searchbar is hidden below it as I suspect it is unable to scroll to that location since its the last cell in the view.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this and how to overcome this situation.
The easiest solution is to have your view controller be a subclass of UITableViewController. This type of view controller will handle issues exactly like these.
If you cannot, you should listen to keyboard will show/hide notifications and set contentInset and scrollviewIndicatorInsets bottom of the table view to the keyboard height. Then you can scroll the specific cell into visible. When the keyboard hides, set the bottom to the previous value.
Yes....Two ways
1) either you can change the frame of whole tableView and pull the whole table up by decreasing the y position of tableView
[tableView setFrame:CGRectMake(100,100,100,100)];
or
2) You can change the contentOffset of the table to programatically scroll the tableView's last cell so that it is visible to the user.
[tableView setContentOffset:CGPointMake(0,400) animated:YES]
Hope this will help you.
Collection view consists of a single row, of horizontally aligned cells, which size is the same size as the collection view's bounds, single cell fills entire screen.
The problem is that the collection view seems to be intercepting all of the pans. How can I forward them to the table so I can also scroll the table vertically.
I want vertical pan to be delivered to the table inside the cell, so it can scroll up and down. I want horizontal pan to be delivered to the collection view, so it can scroll horizontally.
Any ideas? Thanks.
For UITableView inside CollectionView using storyBoard, please follow these steps:
-Drag CollectionView to UIViewController, drag datasource to UIViewController(don't drag delegate). Add datasource methods inside ViewController.m
-Create Cell:CollectionViewCell class. choose class for Cell in storyBoard to Cell class,specify reuse ID.
-Drag tableView inside collectionCell square. delegate, datasource drag to CollecionCell Square too. Add tableView datasource, delegate inside Cell.m
-Create CellDelegate when implement tableViewDidSelect inside it. Transfer this delegate to UIViewController to perform other action
Sample code: https://github.com/lequysang/github_zip/blob/master/TableViewInCollection.zip
Swift2 update - We don't need to do all the above steps. Just making the controller the delegate and datasource of both the tableview and collection view works just fine.
I've been able to make this work without using storyboards--although, I use XIBs for my views but only to add the Autolayout rules. All customisation (colors, fonts, labels, etc.) are set in code. In any case, this should also work for cells that are being built programatically.
How to do it:
The most important thing to remember is to add your custom view to the contentView property of the cell and not inside the cell itself. If you are using XIBs for the custom UICollectionViewCell, leave it blank. Instantiate your custom view (where the UITableView is), then add it as a subview of the UICollectionViewCell's contentView. If you add the table vie directly inside the collection view cell, the table view will not vertically scroll.
Implement shouldSelectItemAtIndexPath and shouldHighlightItemAtIndexPath of the UICollectionViewDelegate and make both return false, so that tapping on the collection view cell does not intercept with taps intended for the table view inside.
Done with Xcode 7.3 for iOS 9+.
