Counting the amount of sections in tableView - ios

I want show the amount of sections of a tableView somewhere as a badge.
The first problem is that I get a outcome of 0.
I've declared a int in the TableViewController.h as section.
In the .m file:

Why do I still get a 0 as outcome?
Is there somewhere in the numberOfSectionsInTableView I need to count the amount of sections?

Update:
In the tableView I set al the scheduledLocalNotifications.
I made a set of 2 notifications which are linked to each other.
So 2 rows of scheduledLocalNotifications in each section.
This is what I have in the tableView:

You can find number of sections in any tableview after numberOfSectionsInTableView method call. So, initialize your variable in numberOfSectionsInTableView method before return statement.

Prompt on the last cell of the table view

I want UITableView always has the text "No more items" in the last cell, I want this row appears regardless of number of items, include 0 items. How could I do?
You can get the total row of a section by using numberOfRowsInSection: method.

I have a TableView divided into cell. The text of the cell is fireDate to UILocalNotification. This is my code:

How to can I create section divided by date?
First your section numbers must be the count of the array

Here give a name for each section i dont know the structure of your
array but if its a dictionary for example : objectForKey:#"date"...

In cellForRowAtIndexPath first check the indexPath.section and set
your object like you usually do with one section

Several cells in UITableView

I'm seeking how create several cells to go to different ViewControllers.
For my TableView, I'm using a subclass of UITableViewController.
And when I choose 2 in the following method, I just see 2 identical cells which are doing exactly the same thing. I'm not interested by this. I don't even know their IndexPath in order to change their title.
- (NSInteger)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView numberOfRowsInSection:(NSInteger)section

And When I try to put another UITableViewCell in my TableView, it doesn't appear on iOS simulator, even with the same option (same subclass) than my first UITableViewCell which I can see.

You define your cells in tableView:cellForRowAtIndexPath:, so you should provide an implementation for that method.
tableView:numberOfRowsInSection: only returns the number of cells in the table.
If you need more help, please provide your implementation for tableView:cellForRowAtIndexPath:. This is how a typical implementation looks like:

This method gets called when a cell has been selected. You can decide what you wanna do according to the selected row

Use the following:

This delegate method returns the number of rows you want in that particular section. So if you want more than 2 rows, or you want the number of rows to be dynamic, you can create a NSArray in the AppDelegate or in the init method of the viewController class, and return the number in the numberOfRowsInSection method like
return [delegate numberOfNames];
In my example above, I created an array in my AppDelegate and also a method to return the number of objects I have in that array so that I can create the number of rows for my table.

This delegate method will show what you want to display in each cell. Therefore, following on from my array created in my AppDelegate, I first create the cell, then I will set the text I want to display on the cell with a method I created in my AppDelegate that will return a NSString while taking in a NSInteger so that I can loop through my array and display the text accordingly.

nameAtIndex is the name of the method I created in my AppDelegate that will return the NSString object at the specific index (ie. the row number) from the NSArray I created to store all the items of my table.
When the user clicks on any of the rows in the table created, this delegate method will be called
- (void) tableView: (UITableView*) tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath: (NSIndexPath*) indexPath
And in here, I will check if the text displayed matches any of the items in my array from the AppDelegate that stores the items in the table, and create the view that is necessary.

So with these 3 delegate methods, you will be able to create the table using a NSArray created, and be able to redirect the user to a viewController according to which option in the table he chooses. You will not have to keep editing the delegate methods if you choose to add more rows to the table as well since you are returning the count of the array when setting up the table.
The array and methods to get the data of the array can be created in the viewController as well, not necessarily in the AppDelegate, in case you were wondering.
The methods are as follows:

How to setup cells in a static table divided in sections programmatically

I'm basically making a settings view on my app and I'm using a static table for it. So I divided the table into 3 sections each with one cell. Not programmatically I can easily label each cell and it works but programmatically I'm not able to initialize each cell. I can only initialize the first cell that gets repeated across the 3 sections. I would like a way to initialize a cell for each section but I can't find a method or a way to do that. My tableview also has reuseIdentifiers but it doesn't seem like the UITableViewController recognizes it.
This is what I have done so far.

You have to make a condition for how to handle each different section within the table view.

UITableView Indexing

I have an indexed table view that organizes cities in a state by their first letter. What I have working is an NSMutableDictionary is created with the keys of A,B,C,etc. and the corresponding cities are added to their respective arrays. ex:

now, my table view loads with the correct number of sections, and rows within the sections and the indexing control works fine with this:

My issue is now populating the text of the table cell with the text for each section...Any thoughts on how I can grab this info?
the cellForRowAtIndexPath gets a parameter of type NSIndexPath passed which contains both the required row and section. See NSIndexPath UIKit Additions for more details.
With that being said, this might work in your particular case:
