render offline vector .map file in iOS - ios

I have a .map file that I used to render maps on Andriod using mapsforge. I am trying to do the same thing in iOS.
I have tried using route-me library and followed the following tutorial but the problem is that the map that I get is a picture base map not a vector map which makes the file size very large. the .map file that I have is running on iOS device perfectly and its size is relatively small about 13 MB for the same region of the same file I used with route-me in iOS.
Can anyone please point me to a tool or library even if paid for drawing vector maps in iOS for offline usage.
YES; I tried running this application but I keeps getting errors in the application like ProtocolBuffer.h is not defined.
Thanks in advance

I am sorry I was unable to create an offline vector map, but I was able to create an offline tiled map using openstreetMap as data source and Mapbox as rendering tool in ios.

Use FBX file with 3D model in iOS native app

I have a requirement to display an interactive 3D model (the client supplies few FBX files) in one of the screens in a native Objective-C/Swift app.
I know that there's a possibility to work with Unity/Cocos3D but then the entire app will have to be Unity/Cocos3D based. In my case the app has to be native and only one screen (one of the tabs in the tab bar controller) should integrate the 3D model that the user can move/rotate etc.
Thanks.
The FBX SDK is available on iOS and I wrote a little tutorial to demo how to use it here. However, the FBX SDK does contain a viewport/canvas for displaying FBX file on any OS. For displaying FBX you would need to create your own view. There is couple of solutions you can use here:
without programming, you can use the 'FBX Review'. This tools is free and designed to display FBX, DAE, OBJ, ... files
you can implement your own viewport/view such as an obj view like I did here, but it would probably need to be rewritten. I wrote it overnight for a hack, so it needs to be optimized.
you use the iOS SceneKit library which would be a better approach than implementing your own view.
If you go with option 3 above, you can use Unity to export a Collada (.dae) file for importing into SceneKit thru the collada exporter. You can buy the exporter on the Unity Asset Store directly; there's one for Unity 5.x and one for Unity 2017.

How to trim down custom Skobbler offline map app size

I'm integrating Skobbler maps in my iOS app.
Right now, the app is 160Mb in size, which is way too much.
But I notice that there are bunch of maps integrated already.
I would like to erase all maps and let the user download the ones he would need.
Right now, when I include SKMaps.framework, there is SKMaps document in it, that's 95Mb in size.
Is there any way to make this document smaller or downloadable after initial app is downloaded.
I have to make my app as small as possible. Also, as I don't need maps of the entire world, Is there a way do download some file with US maps only (even better option to download only the states a user would need)
You could integrate only the desired packages. See how to deal with prebundled maps in this blog post:
http://sdkblog.skobbler.com/creating-an-app-with-a-pre-bundled-map/
Also to minimize the size of the project you can do the following:
Remove all audio advices but en_us from SKAdvisorResources.bundle (Note: you can host & download the audio files on demand)
Remove Outdoorstyle and Grayscale style from SkMaps.bundle (if you're not using these styles)
Remove all other architectures but armv7 (there should be a small performance penalty on arm64, but since you exclude an entire set of architectures the size of the .ipa should be considerable smaller) - this change will be visible in the final .ipa file

What SDKs can be used for creating offline maps application for iPad/iPhone?

we are developing an offline city map application for iPad, using Cloudmade SDKs. I'm curious, is there are any other SDKs which could be used for offline applications ?
The better solution for me is:
1.- Generate your own maps with TileMill from Mapbox and then export to MBTiles format.
2.- Get the mapbox-ios-example and use the MBTiles file you just generated.
Starting with April, 2014 there is also skobbler's /Telenav's SDK - it's got full offline capabilities (map rendering, routing & rerouting) and a map cutting tool if you want a map of a custom area (e.g. you provide the gpx enclosed polygon and you get back a map of that area)
See some examples in the demo apps and the how-to's

Autofocus when scanning QR code

I'm working on a BlackBerry app which will be used in cafes and restaurants, and one of the features is QR code scanning
Is there any way to make the camera autofocus the QR code?
Searching, I found FocusControl, which looks like the one I'm looking for. Unfortunately, it's only available since OS 5.0.
I wonder how to achieve the same thing on OS 4.5, 4.6, and 4.7.
Any suggestions?
You can't.
In OSs prior to 4.5, you can launch the native camera app and listen for recently created image files (FileSystemJournalListener). This way, if the BB has autofocus, the image has more definition.
However, there's no way to do this for every BB. Unless you apply some image algorithm of your own after taking the image.
