local scaling = Application.CENTER
application:setScaleMode(scaling)
I tried using above code in Gideros but it gives an error that 'bad argument #1 to 'setScaleMode' (string expected, got nil) at setScaleMode, how can I fix this ?Actually, It did not recognise Application.CENTER , though according to Apress Lua game development, It should.
It seems that the constants are not set (probably a bug), but you can still use the values from here:
http://docs.giderosmobile.com/reference/gideros/Application/setScaleMode#Application:setScaleMode
As application:setScaleMode("center")
But you can also set the value in the Gideros Studio project properties

I am new to F#/.NET and I am trying to run the F# example provided in the accepted answer of How to translate the intro ML.Net demo to F#? with the ML.NET library, using F# on Visual Studio, using Microsoft.ML (0.2.0).
When building it I get the error error FS0039: The type 'TextLoader' is not defined.
To avoid this, I added the line
open Microsoft.ML.Data
to the source.
Then, however, the line
pipeline.Add(new TextLoader<IrisData>(dataPath,separator = ","))
triggers:
error FS0033: The non-generic type 'Microsoft.ML.Data.TextLoader' does not expect any type arguments, but here is given 1 type argument(s)
Changing to:
pipeline.Add(new TextLoader(dataPath,separator = ","))
yields:
error FS0495: The object constructor 'TextLoader' has no argument or settable return property 'separator'. The required signature is TextLoader(filePath: string) : TextLoader.
Changing to:
pipeline.Add(new TextLoader(dataPath))
makes the build successful, but the code fails when running with
ArgumentOutOfRangeException: Column #1 not found in the dataset (it only has 1 columns), I assume because the comma separator is not correctly picked up (incidentally, you can find and inspect the iris dataset at https://archive.ics.uci.edu/ml/machine-learning-databases/iris/iris.data).
Also
pipeline.Add(new TextLoader(dataPath).CreateFrom<IrisData>(separator: ','))
won't work.
I understand that there have been changes in TextLoader recently (see e.g. https://github.com/dotnet/machinelearning/issues/332), can somebody point me to what I am doing wrong?
F# just has a bit of a different syntax that can take some getting used to. It doesn't use the new keyword to instantiate a new class and to use named parameters it uses the = instead of : that you would in C#.
So for this line in C#:
pipeline.Add(new TextLoader(dataPath).CreateFrom<IrisData>(separator: ','))
It would be this in F#:
pipeline.Add(TextLoader(dataPath).CreateFrom<IrisData>(separator=','))
Currently i am working on a migration from SlimDX to SharpDX. Some things are different between them, like loading shaders etc:
I have a problem creating the PixelShader class (same applies to the VertexShader class). The problem is, every example I found on this subject will not compile.
For example:
using (var pixelShaderByteCode = ShaderBytecode.CompileFromFile(filename, "PS", "ps_5_0", shaderFlags))
shader.PixelShader = new SharpDX.Direct3D11.PixelShader(device, pixelShaderByteCode);
The problem is, SharpDX.Direct3D11.PixelShader does not take a ComplilationResult as parameter. I could use the vertexShaderByteCode.Bytecode which is a ShaderBytecode, but this is also invalid.
There is a vertexShaderByteCode.Bytecode.Data which is a DataStream. I might create the byte[] from it, but I think this could be solved easier? Did I missed something?
using: SharpDX 3.1.1
I have found the problem:
Looks like i need to reference the SharpDX.D3DCompiler also, to compile for DX11. It was using the DX9 compiler.
SharpDX.D3DCompiler.ShaderBytecode(DX11) vs SharpDX.Direct3D9.ShaderBytecode(DX9)
I'll leave this for anyone who has the same struggles.
CompilationResult is returned by the compile and you can test if the bytecode is null, if it is, you can then check the error codes (Best in debug though :)).
HasErrors : boolean
Message : string
Check these also.
I use airprint to print to a compatible airprint label printing device. When attempting to print a label, I sometimes get the following errors:
No document-format-supported attribute found or no supported formats found.
No mediaColSupported found, defaulting to media-bottom-margin, media-left-margin, media-right-margin, media-size, and media-top-margin.
No print-quality-supported attribute found. Defaulting to normal quality.
No sides-supported attribute found. Defaulting to PKDuplexNone.
When this error pops up, the label comes out scaled wrong.
When this error doesn't pop up, the label comes out correctly.
Any help to point me in the right direction to solve this issue is appreciated.
This is caused by the fact that in some instances the printer doesn't respond which type of paper is installed. I solved this by specifying the paper type in the code.
Printer used: Brother QL-720NW.
I also have a ticket open with Brother for this and will update once I get a response.
I'm having problems with a specific line of code - building.transmitter:[operation](player, unpack({...})) that causes an error in Corona, yet this loads fine when it's run in Lua separately. I suspect it has something to do with the : being placed before the [operation] variable but I'm clueless why.
Specifically the module is written as,
local activate = {}
local function activate.transmitter(player, operation, ...)
building = player:getTile()
building.transmitter:[operation](player, unpack({...}))
end
return activate
The runtime errror that is appearing gives me
"error loading module from file, '<name>' expected near '['"
Edit - WOW! I didn't notice that when troubleshooting this in Corona I changed some of the lines of code to identify the problem. I then mistakenly tested the edited code in Lua and it ran fine. I didn't realize the code wasn't the original until siffiejoe pointed out the interpreter getting an error as well. Sorry for the mistake.
maybe Corona uses older version of Lua which does not support this syntax. You can try workaround instead of
building.transmitter:[operation](player, unpack({...}));
you can call
building.transmitter[operation](building.transmitter, player, unpack({...}));
I am using the wave audio component in my project and I run into a problem that I am unable to resolve.
I am using Delphi XE 5 and my operating system is Windows 8. When I am trying to the run the project and active the liveaudio recorder on Windows 7, I got this: error Exception EOSError in module Chatproject.exe at 00029633. System Error. Code: 123. The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect. But its working normal on Windows 8,. I tried to debug and figure out the problem I got this error message when I am activating the recorder
Update of the question :
i debugged each of sendtocl , sendbuffer ,buffer^, buffersize and here is result in the image ,, but i have no idea how to fix sendbuffer and buffer^ and sendtocl
http://i.stack.imgur.com/5sZ05.jpg
You have four references to sendtocl:
#56: sendtocl: TIdUDPClient;
#235: if sendtocl.active then
#236: sendtocl.SendBuffer(RawToBytes(Buffer^, Buffersize))
#260: sendtocl.Broadcast(usertype.Text, 12000);
It should be getting created when the form is created, assuming it's a component dropped on the form. But for whatever reason, it isn't instantiated at some point.
This is consistent with the exception message you're getting.
The ERROR_INVALID_NAME is probably pointing to an invalid URI, path, or filename -- it's entirely possible that it's valid in Win 8 but not Win 7. So when you try to invoke .Active, it fails. But why sendtocl woudl be set to NIL doesn't make sense. Mabye the exception is on the SendBuffer method?
As Ken suggests, you just need to go in with the debugger and figure out what's going on. I'm not sure there's much more us "out here" can do for you other than comment on how the code appears.
