Cordova 3.4.1 and calabash-ios - ios

I'm trying to get Calabash to work with an existing Cordova project. I have followed the instructions on calabash-io, both manual and automatic. I can confirm that the manual setup has resulted in the Calabash server running. But running the cucumber tells me that it can't find the .app file, I manually entered the .app, and all it does is loop "xcode-select: Error: unknown command option '-p'." several times and then stops "Unable to start. Make sure you've set APP_BUNDLE_PATH to a build supported by this simulator version
Calabash::Cucumber::Launcher::StartError: Time out waiting for UIAutomation run-loop to Start."

On certain versions of MacOS Lion + Xcode, the xcode-select tool was missing the -p option. This was causing ios-sim gem to raise an exception.
The solution is to upgrade to the most recent version of MacOS and Xcode.

Getting frequent Kill:9 Error in Xcode and Terminal

I have recently upgraded the Mac OS to Ventura 13.2.1 and Xcode to 14.2, now once I try to compile any application with Xcode, I am getting Kill:9 related issue for random task/framework in the project. I also get Kill:9 issue sometime on terminal as well.
Listing the errors here:
failed to read asset tags: The command `` terminated with uncaught signal 9. The command had no output.
Driver threw jobFailedWithNonzeroExitCode(9, "") without emitting errors.
Unable to execute command: Killed 9 Clang frontend command failed due to signal.
Please help me to resolve this issue/crash.
Open project in Xcode.
Build the app with Simulator (I tried with iPhone 14 Pro)
Error occurs in the build
Ideally project should have compiled without any error.
It sounds to me that the problem is with the installation of Xcode because when an unprivileged task is attempted, the OS will kill it off (with signal 9).
What I recommend is for you to re-install Xcode.
When you first run the new Xcode, it should prompt you for an administrator password in order to install system related components. Make sure you do this step. Hopefully that should then allow you to compile and run your iOS apps.

Xcode 12 error in installing app -Failed to get FD to bundle executable

My project is running fine in Xcode 11.3 but recently when I upgraded to Xcode 12 app is not getting installed in simulator and showing the error - Could not install at this time.
Failed to get FD to bundle executable....
I suddenly had the same problem, after years of work on the same project across several versions of Xcode and MacOS.
On Xcode 12.4 and MacOS 10.15.5, although everything was working fine, suddenly I got this error popup "Failed to get FD to bundle executable" while trying to Run the project on a(ny) Simulator.
I tried all the proposals I could find online, including changing the Executable Type (which had never changed) or clear the empty env vars defined in the Build settings (there weren't any). Uninstalling/reinstalling Xcode didn't help. Upgrading to MacOS 10.15.7 didn't either. Of course the Apple Support has been of no use at all (they replied with a few general FAQ links about how to use Simulator).
The only thing that worked for me was to checkout the project in a different folder...
The weird thing is, if I rename again my new folder to the initial folder name, it does the error again! It sounds to me like a MacOS bug and/or an Xcode bug.

I have this problem when I get started with react native.
The issue for me is the file in /Users/yakjuly/.expo/ios-simulator-app-cache/Exponent-2.21.3.tar.app is broken. After I delete this file and re-run the command. it succeeds installing app in iOS simulator.
What solved this for me was the following:
close emulator
clean project and build folder
Shortcut: Command+Shift+K
GUI: Menu Bar -> Product -> Clean/Clean Build Folder
restart emulator
Xcode 13.2.1
The following steps helped me -
1. Select simulator
2. Goto Device
3. Select -> Erase All Content and Settings...
Hopefully, now you will be able to install and run the app on your simulator.

How to fix expo start throwing "Simulator is installed but is identified as 'com.apple.CoreSimulator.SimulatorTrampoline'; dont know what that is"

I am trying to set up a react-native development environment. I would like to set up an iOS emulator (preferably an iPhone 10) to run my app on. I am using a Macbook Pro 2016 running on MacOS 10.14.3. I have installed my react-native app through the command create-react-native-app (running version 2.0.2). I also have installed XCode running version 10.2(10E125). When I scan the QR code that Expo generates and run it on my iPad or my Android device it works just fine, but when I try to load the iOS emulator by pressing i after expo start it returns the error
Trying to open the project in iOS simulator...
Simulator is installed but is identified as 'com.apple.CoreSimulator.SimulatorTrampoline'; don't know what that is.
Simulator not installed. Please visit https://developer.apple.com/xcode/download/ to download Xcode and the iOS simulator. If you already have the latest version of Xcode installed, you may have to run the command `sudo xcode-select -s /Applications/Xcode.app`
I have already tried running the command sudo xcode-select -s /Applications/Xcode.app
I have also tried running the command xcode-select -r
I have also confirmed that in my XCode->Preferences->Locations Command Line Tools is selected as "Xcode 10.2(10E125)"
None of these have worked.
I am expecting that after pressing i after expo start an iOS emulator loads up. Thank you.
-----EDIT-------
After some more research, I found out that running open -a Simulator and then running expo start loads the app on an emulator and works for my purposes. But still if I just run expo start without running open -a Simulator it still gives the same error. I want to ask if this is the best I am going to get?
You might be running an outdated version of Expo. I had this problem when I was download someone's old repo using Expo 27 when Expo 36 came out. After updating to the latest version, it works.
To update packages in your project, npm-check-updates comes in handy.
npm i -g npm-check-updates # installs ncu globally
ncu -u # updates all dependency versions in your local package.json
npm install # updates the packages in node_modules to match
Note: This will update all your dependencies to the latest version. If you don't want to do this, you can find the latest version of expo and change the version in package.json manually.
I ran into the exact same problem all of a sudden. Clicking "Run on iOS Simulator" within the Expo Developer Browser worked 2 days ago but did not work today. Your clue of using open -a Simulator helped me though. I went into Xcode and clicked the Xcode menu > Open Developer Tool > Simulator. This started the Simulator and then I was able to click "Run on iOS Simulator" within the Expo Developer Browser and it worked as expected. If you haven't had the fortune of "Run on iOS Simulator" working, I'm guessing you could just start a simulator, download Expo from the App Store and just use it from there. None of this answers the question as to why the error happens but at least gives a few workarounds for anyone else that might need. All that matters is you get the app running on the Simulator in the end!

Ionic CLI Build Error

I've been able to successfully using the Ionic CLI to build my iOS packages in the past, but I have a set of errors that I can't get rid of. The archive is succeeding, but I'm still having a few issues.
1) Even if I'm using the ionic build ios command, it's creating an archive package and not the build package.
2) I'm getting some IDEDistribution errors:
** ARCHIVE SUCCEEDED **
Non-system Ruby in use. This may cause packaging to fail.
If you use RVM, please run `rvm use system`.
If you use chruby, please run `chruby system`.

This error occurs even after I've run the rvm use system command.
Is the archive setting something in XCode settings? If I try ionic build android it builds properly (meaning it doesn't archive, I get a BUILD SUCCEEDED message).
For reference, here is my system info:
Your system information:
Cordova CLI: 6.5.0
Ionic Framework Version: 2.2.0
Ionic CLI Version: 2.2.1
Ionic App Lib Version: 2.2.0

ios-deploy version: 1.9.1
ios-sim version: 5.0.4
OS: macOS Sierra
Node Version: v7.5.0
Xcode version: Xcode 8.2.1 Build version 8C1002
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling XCode with no change.
Was getting the same error and in my case, it turned out that the problem was caused because I had my device plugged to the computer during the Cordova build.
I just unplugged it and works.
It turned out that I had two iOS Developer Keys in my Keychain Access which was causing the error. Once I deleted that one and tried to build, the error went away.
If you have the same issue, go to Keychain Access > Keys and look for ones that start with iOS Developer... if you have any duplicates installed just delete them and reinstall and you should be all set.

Installing Appcelerator Studio OS X El Capitan

I've been using Appcelerator Studio a lot, never seen this problem before. I recently did a fresh installation of OS X, then installing Xcode (7.3.1) and Command Line Tools for Xcode 7.3.1.
When installing Appcelerator Studio (build: 4.5.0.201602170821) everything is going great, the CLI gets installed. When starting up Appcelerator Studio, I have to configure SDKs, hence I am only interested in iOS at the moment, I uncheck Android in the Platform Configuration. The following is that Configuring SDK encountered a problem:
An internal error occurred during: "Configuring SDK". java.lang.NullPointerException
I continuing, and go to Preferences>Studio>Platforms>iOS, where the iOS SDK home says Not specified, I click refresh - nothing happens.
I run xcode-select -p and the correct path to Xcode Developer folder is printed.
Anyone having a clue of solving this?
I've check all the version statuses, also tried to reinstall and deleting all information that can impact to this.
Share the directory hierarchy where you have stored Android SDK and Platform screen folder. Also try to follow the guidelines of Titanium to integrate iOS, but remember to clean the hidden folders in root directory of your OS X system.
I believe the problem might be with your Xcode. Are you having multiple Xcode's installed?
Use sudo xcode-select -switch <xcode_folder_path> switch between Xcode's.
Then, run appc ti info -t ios and check whether CLI is able to identify the selected Xcode. If your Xcode is listed here, then studio should be able to identify it.
