ios 6.0 Simulator in xcode 5.1 - ios

I just successfully updated my Xcode tool to 5.1 version and when I check Downloads option in preference section then I noticed there is no option to download ios 6.0 simulator.(Please check attached image)
So how can I access ios 6.0 simulator in Xcode 5.1?

Please follow this procedure to upgrade your xCode
Upgrade xCode
At last change deployment target to access both IOS 6 and IOS 7 simulators.

There are basically no difference between IOS 6.0 and IOS 6.1, in 6.1 apple just added three header file with few method in MapKit framework and did little modification in UIKit. So I don't think that you should bother about that.
You can check the modification here

iOS 9 not supported by Xcode 6.4

The iOS 9 update is not supported by Xcode 6.4 for testing purpose. is there a workaround to connect my device to Xcode for testing. If not can I roll back my update to ios 8.4.1( previous update ).
There is a way to deploy to iOS 9 devices with Xcode 6.4. I ended up doing this because I of course had updated my phone right away, but I did not quite want to go to Xcode 7 due to Swift 2 and the lack of support by coacoapods, yet.
Here is what I did:
I downloaded Xcode 7, but did not install it.
Instead I browsed inside the dmg file (Show Package Contents on right-click) to /Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport.
I then copied the folder named 9.0 (13A340) into the same location of my current installation of Xcode 6.4.
Lastly I renamed the existing 8.0 (12A365) folder to just 8.0 - I am not sure if this is necessary.
I am now able to deploy to my phone with iOS9 from Xcode 6.4.
I hope this is helpful to somebody!

You've hit the nail on the head. iOS 9 is not supported in versions of Xcode earlier than iOS 7. Just update to continue developing.
This worked for me to allow me to test my app that was built against the iOS8 SDK (on XCode 6.4) on a physical iOS9 device.
Rename XCode to Xcode 6.4 in the Applications folder
Install Xcode 7 from the downloaded DMG (don't update from the AppStore)
Open XCode 7 and build a test project (it can be an empty iOS9 app) and run it on your physical iOS9 device
Close Xcode 7 and open XCode 6.4
Build your app against the iOS8 SDK and debug on the physical iOS9 device
It seems like debugging on XCode 7 first updates something on the device and then XCode 6.4 can debug properly.
(This is useful for example, if you don't want to migrate your Swift 1.2 code to 2.0 yet)

iOS 6.0 simulator disappeared

I'm not able to test my app on iOS 6.0 simulator, because it disappeared. I definitely remember I downloaded it and for some time I could use it. When I click on more simulators to download it now, there is only iOS 7.0 and iOS 6.1 simulators. And for all I know, I have set the deployment target to 6.0 everywhere. Any ideas?
Apple withdrew the 6.0 simulator at the server end, so it is no longer listed. If you really want it, you can move it into Xcode from another version of Xcode (it's obvious where it goes).
The latest Xcode (5.1 as of writing this) only supports iOS 6.1 simulator. If you wish to test on iOS 6.0, you need to test on a device.
Technically speaking, there is very little API difference between 6.0 and 6.1, so you can test 6.1 for most scenarios just fine.
Still we can use ios 6 simulator in xcode 5.1.
If you cant see iOS 6 simulator in downloads. Try this one,
download xcode 4 sdk and copy the ios 6 simulator sdk from xcode4,
[Application->xcode 4 ->contents->developer->platforms->iphone
simulator platform->developer->sdk folder.]
And paste ios 6 simulator sdk to xcode 5, [Application->xcode5->
contents->developer->platforms->iphonesimulator
platform->developer->sdk folder]
I followed this steps and got ios 6 simulator,. see below

xcode 5 : can i still create application for ios 5?

Is it possible to create an application that could be executed on iOS 5 devices with the new Xcode 5? On the software update page, within the app store, there is an Xcode 5 update available, but i am wondering if it would be a wise thing to do to update to Xcode 5.
My major concern is whether i could still create applications targeting iOS 5, and if i could still work on old projects targeting iOS 5.
I have searched through SO but seems there is not much related resources yet. Please shed some light on this. Thanks!
in xcode5 Preference you can download the simulator for iOS 5.0, iOS 5.1, iOS 6.0, iOS 6.1 like below image from Xcode Download preference:
After set Deployment Target:-
here you getting option for testing which simulatore:-
One thing of note:
The iOS 5 simulator is only available for download if you're running Xcode 5 under Mountain Lion. If you're running Mavericks then you can't download or use it.
Yes , you can create and test your application on iOS 5.0 simulator too in Xcode 5.
They would just be created with the iOS 7.0 SDK as the base SDK
Yes you can still do App compatible with iOS5
Just set the in your projets settings (General tab)
But you have to be aware that by default, XCode will use the last SDK (7.0), this means that your app will have the new iOS7 native design on iOS7 devices
Yes it is possible, in the project configuration you have to select the correct Deployment Target (in your case 5.0).
The only problem is that you are creating an app with the new SDK 7.0, so your application will use the new user experience.

How to deploy iPad app for iOS 6.1 from Xcode 5

I am new to iOS. With iOS 7 release I am struggling to find how to target my app for previous versions but building from new iOS 7.
I do not know if at all this is possible. but iOS has changed app UI totally, but can not do all change now. So I have been told to build it on new version but target should be for old, so that no UI changes to be done.
Something like building from Xcode 5 but iOS should be 6.1. I do have both Xcode running on my Mac.
If I open both it shows: Xcode 5 - iOS 7, Xcode 4.6 - iOS 6.1. How can I use Xcode 5 to target iOS 6.1?
As far as I know you can't deploy only for iOS6.x using xcode 5, but you can deploy for iOS7 and iOS6, setting the deployment target ad Raptor said.
If you want to deploy only for iOS6 you can download the old xcode 4.6.3 from apple site and make the procedure from there.
I guess your question is How to build iOS app with iOS6.1 SDK in XCode5. Am i right?
You must install iOS6.1 SDK (iphoneos6.1 not simulator iOS6.1) to your XCode first. This question Is it possible to install iOS6 SDK on Xcode 5? could help you to install iOS6.1 SDK.
Than you could configure your project using iOS6.1 SDK to build your app like below:
If you are looking to test your app on lower iOS simulators.
go to Xcode - > Preferences - > Downloads
Over here download the desired simulator.
Once you have downloaded and installed it you can test your application on lower iOS versions.

How to use previous (3.x and 4.x) simulators within XCode 4.2

Does anyone know how to configure XCode so that the Destination drop down under Manage Schemes
encapsulats all previous simulators iOS 3.x and iOS 4.x? Currently the Destination drop down only
lists iOS 4.3 and iOS 5.0 devices. The only way, I am able to currently access previous simulators is by running
previous versions of XCode. I would like to run all simulators from XCode 4.2 without the need to revert.
I've already tried to change the deployment target. This does not work.
Thanks so much
For 4.3 set iOS Deployment Target to 4.3 (or earlier). Get the simulator from Xcode, Preferences, Downloads, Components.
According to #rckoenes: You can't reactivate the iOS 3.x Simulator, you will need to install an older version of Xcode (one with the iOS 3.x SDK) along side Xcode 4.x (with the iOS 4.x SDK), see answer here.
