Hello is there any commercial or free web browser component to work with C++ Builder 6 except IE that is included ?

but consider that:
the last release of the Mozilla ActiveX project by Adam Lock was around Firefox 1.5, so the project is now seriously out of date;
the Chromium Embedded Framework is very interesting but I don't think it can be adapted to C++Builder 6 (
fail to install chromium embedded on C++ Builder from Delphi files).
There are issues even with "modern" C++Builder (http://code.google.com/p/delphichromiumembedded/issues/detail?id=7) but it can be done.
A good starting point, if you would like to take the hard way, is Embedding Mozilla but it's a GNU project using GNU tools.
You could build the DLL via MinGW/MSYS and then getting access to the functions exposed by the relevant DLLs...
You could also try a different approach: transforming a target executable top-level window in a child window of own application via the SetParent function (take a look at Embed an application (exe file) into another exe file (mozEmbed like)).

I have an existing very old source code which was written in kylix 3 (C++ builder) IDE in red hat Linux. Now I want to port this code to new IDE because of kylix 3 and Borland C++ builder are no longer available for Linux. So I am searching for the solution or any idea for the same. In existing ide there is .bpr project file and source code has .cpp file which generated by form screens.
I have tried with Qt creator but there is no such conversion option in Qt creator. So I was trying to replicate the UI code by rewriting as a new project but not sure it would be the right solution.
So please give some suggestions so I can find the solution.
I have used the Synactis product PDF-in-the-box in Delphi 2006 projects and also a free component they had called TPDFViewer, which allows you to embed a PDF viewer in your application.
I am porting one app to XE and - having found that trying to install the TPDFViewer I had in XE did some serious damage to my installation - I'm looking for a replacement.
I have installed XE-supported trial versions of their current offerings PDF-in-the-box 4.04 and All-in-the-box 4.04 but can't see any sign of the TPdfViewer component in either. Their website FAQ implies this functionality has been replaced by functions to start Adobe Reader.
So I want a (free would be nice, but not essential) PDF viewer for Delphi XE which doesn't just chain to Adobe Reader and allows user interaction or programmatic control over zoom, page number etc.
I tried several times to find a good PDF viewer. Most of them were fake components. The best way is to embed acrobat reader dll directly into your application and command it from there.
It was 8 years ago, so I do not remember the code that I used to do this. You import the acroXX.dll file directly into Delphi, it prepares a user component for you and then you install this component directly in to your Component palette.
The worst thing in this configuration is that you have to take care of the acrobat reader dll that is installed on your clients. Any update/upgrade of the reader may cause your application to fail.
This is a continuation of my last question. In that question I showed a problem involving TWebBrowser generating threads that persisted after the Browsers destruction. While noone could provide a solution to the problem, it was suggested that the problem could be a non-fixable one (a flaw with the TWebBrowser component itself).
Because of this I have attempted to download and use the Delphi Chromium Embedded Framework. I downloaded the components and added them to Delphi, added one to a new form and attempted to run the program, at which point it throws up a CPU break point at

There is no error message, but when the program is continued manually it closes. I have had no experience with DCEF before, nor any experience using 3rd party components and the DCEF site is sorely lacking in documentation.
I suppose the easiest thing i'm asking for is a simple walkthrough (very basic) of what to download/install and where to get the Chromium Components to work.

You are missing the Chromium Embedded Framework (CEF) core libraries. It is enough to copy the content of the ..\dcef\bin\Win32 folder (from your downloaded package) into your project's output directory (or into some of the known folders location reachable from your project's executable).
I have an application written in Delphi 7 which uses a c++ dll written in BCB 5.
I want to debug this dll from the Delphi IDE is this possible?
If it's possible which are the steps to debug?
As additional information I have the full source code of the dll.
It has been a while since I have dealt with C++ / Delphi together. But if I remember correctly, you can use the BCB IDE to run the Delphi application (compiled already) that uses your DLL. Basically, in your project settings in BCB, you can set a program to run when you click the "run" button, and I believe that you will be able to set breakpoints and stuff that will be caught when functions of your DLL are being called by that application. Still, this implies that you have BCB.
My recollection, and it's been a while since I last tried this, is that you need the C++ Builder IDE to do this.

I have done it quite often to debug a BCB5 dll within the Delphi 6 IDE. My delphi 6 application uses the DLL and I can then step from the delphi code into the bcb code (and back). So I might work with Delphi 7 too.

You will also need to compile the dll in debug mode and to indicate the path to the source code of the dll in the project options of your delphi application.
Every Delphi 7 developer knows that if he compile a application on Delphi 7, the style will be as Windows 2000 applications, but there is any method to make this better as the application can have the default theme of the Windows version, as C++ and C# applications?
Try adding the TXPManifest component to the main form of your application. located in the Win32 Tab.
The TXPManifest component has no methods or properties. All it does is include the XPMan unit in your project. This in turn causes a certain resource file to be included in your project's executable file. The resource includes a manifest - a small piece of XML that contains information about the application you are writing as well as information concerning the version of the comctl32.dll to use.
Alternatively add your own manifest resource manually - which allows you to tap into the even newer Windows 7 features, if you can be bothered to fathom out the syntax. See this link for more info but ignore the bit about enabling runtime themes as this doesn't exist in D7 (I don't think).
