You should consult with APIdocks on such matters. Depending on Rails version, you can find polymorphic_url in a couple of different places:
Rails 4.
Rails 3.
For Rails 4, all you need to do is to include appropriate module to your module/class:
include ActionController::PolymorphicRoutes
That's it!

I am referring to this blog for token based authentication. I am trying to access the jsonwebtoken.rb methods as specified in the above blog in my app/controllers/api/v1/registrations_controller.rb.

I think the issue is in the file naming convention see your file name is jsonwebtoken.rb but the class is JsonWebToken so the file name will json_web_token.rb look at the console

=> "json_web_token"

I was reading up on the best way to monkey-patch a rails gem. I've found few but decided to use this method.
I want to monkey-patch the xeroizer gem but rather the invoice.rb model.

How do you add custom methods to a rails gem's class?
Assuming you are trying to monkey-patch Xeroizer::Record::InvoiceModel with Xeroizer::Invoice::InvoiceUrl, you might just do the following right after the first mention of Xeroizer::Record::InvoiceModel (to make Rails to autoload it):
Xeroizer::Record::InvoiceModel.prepend Xeroizer::Invoice::InvoiceUrl
This will override original invoice_url method. The original one still might be called from a prepended using super.
Pretty simple, I want to use the polymorphic_path method inside a Rails 4 model. Yes I know it's poor separation of concerns. And I know about Rails.application.routes.url_helpers, but polymorphic_path isn't in there.
Try including also PolymorphicRoutes:

I know the OP specified Rails 4 but in case someone else ends up here looking for the answer using Rails 5 like I did, here are two ways to access polymorphic_path in a model in Rails 5:

Or, if you want to avoid including all methods, just add a private method that wraps the call and you're good to go!

Notice that the class doesn't need to inherit from ApplicationRecord, both methods work with POROs (Plain-Old Ruby Object).

I am using the _url form of the helper, i.e. my_helper_url
For Rails 5, I included the url helpers into the my mailer file:

Doing this broke my other routes.

Doing this is not the right way, this will break application as routes are reloading and routes will not be available is those are reloading

I ran into the same issue but with a Concern, i was unable to use any of the url helpers in my code even using directly Rails.application.routes.url_helpers.administrator_beverages_url i was getting this error:
undefined method `administrator_beverages_url' for #<Module:0x00000002167158> (NoMethodError)
even unable to use the rails console because of this error the only way i found to solve this was to use this code in my Concern

extend ActiveSupport::Concern
Rails.application.reload_routes! #this did the trick
.....
The problem was Rails.application.routes.url_helpers was empty at the moment of the initialization. I don't know the performance implication of using this but for my case this is a small application and i can take the bullet.
In the mailer add
helper :my
or the helper you need
and it will load app/helpers/my_helper.rb & includes MyHelper

The rails route helpers are in Rails.application.routes.url_helpers. You should just be able to put
include Rails.application.routes.url_helpers at the top of your class, though I haven't tested this
I came across this issue while working with a newly added route that seemed to be unavailable in my Mailer. My problem was I needed to restart all the workers, so they would pick up the newly added route. Just leaving this footnote in here in case someone runs into the same issue, it can be tricky to solve if you don't know this is happening.

You need to use the my_helper_url
I have two different helper files (photos_helper & comments_helper) w/ that have a method named actions_for. How can I explicitly call which helper method that I need? I know that I could just rename one of them but I would prefer to keep them the same. I tried PhotosHelper::actions_for but that doesn't seem to work.
In Rails 3 all helpers are always (in Rails 3.1 a patch exists to selectively allow helpers again) included. What's happening behind the scenes:
class YourView
include ApplicationHelper
include UserHelper
include ProjectHelper
...
end
So depending on the order Rails includes them, any of your actions_for methods will be used. There is no way you can explicitly chose one of them.
If you would have to explicitly call ProjectHelper.action_for, you could also name your methods project_action_for - simplest solution.
Make both of them a Class Method

def self.your_method_name
"LoginsHelper"
end
end
AND
module UsersHelper
def self.your_method_name
"UsersHelper"
end
end
Then in View
