UIView Animation of MPMoviePlayerController view - ios

I have a movie playing successfully in a container view that is managed by
BWCVideoViewController : UIViewController
When I start the movie (which works fine), I fade the movie view in successfully using the following
[self.view addSubview:theMovie.view];
theMovie.view.alpha = 0.0;
[theMovie play];
[self movieFadeIn];
- (void)movieFadeIn
{
[UIView animateWithDuration:3.0
delay:0.0
options:UIViewAnimationOptionCurveLinear
animations:^{
theMovie.view.alpha = 1.0f;
}
completion:nil];
}
But for the life of me I cannot fade the movie view out when the movie is either stopped or still playing! It just "flashes" and disappears abruptly:
- (void)movieFadeOut
{
[UIView animateWithDuration:2.5
delay:0.0
options:UIViewAnimationOptionCurveLinear
animations:^{
theMovie.view.alpha = 0.1f;
}
completion:nil];
}
I've followed suggestions elsewhere on SO such as here but I'm baffled. Same result in simulator/device (iOS7)

Well I've solved it, but not how I expected to.
I created another subview (so it sits ABOVE the video) with the same frame size. I fade this out/in and get the desired result. weird.

UIView Animation Curves not working for some animations

I have an app in which I use a lot of animations with ease in/out curves. I use this function in all cases: UIView animateWithDuration:delay:options:animations:completion
All these animations are working ok, but now I am trying to add one to a drawer that pops in and out, and for some reason this particular animation is always linear:
[UIView animateWithDuration:2 delay:0 options:UIViewAnimationOptionCurveEaseOut animations:^{
self.activityBar.view.frame = CGRectMake(0, self.activityBar.view.frame.origin.y, self.activityBar.view.frame.size.width, 20);
} completion:nil];
Why is this animation linear, while other animations with the same option are curved?
This is the view hierarchy for self.activityBar.view
-UIViewController
-UIViewController
-UIViewController (animation code lives here)
-UIViewController (activityBar)
-UIView (activityBar.view)
//Set old Frame for activityBar Here
[UIView animateWithDuration:2.0 delay:0.0 options:UIViewAnimationOptionCurveEaseOut animations:^{
[self.view layoutIfNeeded];
//Update to the new frame
self.activityBar.view.frame = CGRectMake(0, self.activityBar.view.frame.origin.y, self.activityBar.view.frame.size.width, 20);
} completion:^(BOOL finished) {
}];

How to countinue running sound by avplayer when dismiss view

I am doing a music player using AVPlayer. When i close the view the music is turn off. How to dismiss a view and the player play everytime. This is my close button
- (void)showPlayerView
{
[UIView animateWithDuration:0.5 delay:0.1 options:UIViewAnimationOptionTransitionFlipFromLeft animations:^
{
self.view.frame = CGRectMake(0, 0, self.view.frame.size.width, self.view.frame.size.height);
} completion:^(BOOL finished)
{
[self dismissViewControllerAnimated:YES completion:nil];
}];
}
I used to instantiate my AVAudioPlayer in the AppDelegate, this way it will not get released along with the ViewController.

UIImage is not transitioning using fade with animation block transition

I am doing an image transition using an animation block like this
[UIView animateWithDuration:1.0f delay:0.0f options:UIViewAnimationOptionTransitionCrossDissolve animations:^{
self.songTitleLabel.text = currentSong.songTitle;
self.artistNameLabel.text = currentSong.songArtist;
self.songImageView.image = currentSong.songArtwork;
}completion:^(BOOL finished){
self.player = [[AVAudioPlayer alloc] initWithContentsOfURL:currentSong.songLocation error:nil];
[self.player setVolume:1.0];
[self.player play];
}];
I don't understand why I don't have a fade transition, I have tried several different UIAnimationOptionTransition... and every time I just get an abrupt jump to the next image (this happens to the text as well)
Can someone help me out?
You can't animate the changing of an image or text that way. I've done it like this,
-(IBAction)doStuff:(id)sender {
[UIView transitionWithView:self.imageView
duration:1.0
options:UIViewAnimationOptionTransitionCrossDissolve
animations:^{
[self.imageView setImage:[UIImage imageNamed:#"IMG_0081.JPG"]];
} completion:nil];
[UIView transitionWithView:self.label2
duration:1.0
options:UIViewAnimationOptionTransitionCrossDissolve
animations:^{
[self.label2 setText:#"New Text"];
} completion:nil];
}
If you're changing multiple labels or image views, it might be better to create a subclass, and override setText: and setImage:. For example, like this for setImage:,
-(void)setImage:(UIImage *)image {
[UIView transitionWithView:self
duration:1.0
options:UIViewAnimationOptionTransitionCrossDissolve
animations:^{
[super setImage:image];
} completion:nil];
}
You can then just use,
self.imageView.image = ...
for any image view that's your subclass, and it will cross fade the images when you change them.

hide UIButton image

I implemented this method to make flash button, but doing the touch of the button stops working well.
-(void)imageAnimation:(UIButton *)imagen{
[UIView animateWithDuration:.5 animations:^{
imagen.alpha = 1.0;
} completion:^(BOOL finished){
[UIView animateWithDuration:.5 delay:0.5 options:0 animations:^{
imagen.alpha = 0.0;
} completion:^(BOOL finished){
[self imageAnimation:imagen];
}];
}];
}
You know as I can do to make the image flickers button but the button always is active and visible touch that works well?
How about animating a UIImageView's alpha and using a transparent UIButton over it? Alternatively, you could use a UITapGestureRecognizer on the UIImageView itself, though I think the alpha=0 issue will reoccur in this scenario as well.

How to remove view in Objective C

I have a View (CupsViewController) with a Label and when it's clicked, TableView (AddressTableController) slides from the bottom of the screen and stays in the lower half.
In TableView, when Ok Buttonis pressed, I want to change value of Labeland remove TableViewwith animation (that is, slide to the bottom).
Here is my code:
CupsViewController
Method called when click on Label
- (IBAction)showPop:(id)sender
{
addressTableController = [[AddressTableController alloc]initWithStyle:UITableViewStyleGrouped];
[addressTableController setDelegate:self];
[[self view] addSubview:[addressTableController myTableView]];
[UIView animateWithDuration:1.0 delay:0 options:UIViewAnimationOptionBeginFromCurrentState animations:^{
[[addressTableController myTableView] setFrame:CGRectMake(0, kScreenHeight * 0.5, kScreenWidth, kScreenHeight * 0.5)];
} completion:nil];
}
Method called from AddressTableControllerwhen Buttonis pressed
- (void)addressTableController:(AddressTableController *)viewController didChooseValue:(int)value {
direccionLabel.text = [[[[myAppDelegate usuarioActual] cups] objectAtIndex:value] direccion];
[addressTableController.view removeFromSuperview];
}
Image
As you can see, I've tried with removeFromSuperviewbut it does nothing. How can I slide TableViewto the bottom?
It seems that you myTableView property returns a different view, not the one that is referenced in the view property. So you basically add the former as a subview ([[self view] addSubview:[addressTableController myTableView]];), but try to remove the latter ([addressTableController.view removeFromSuperview];).
Just do
[[addressTableController myTableView] removeFromSuperview];
instead of
[addressTableController.view removeFromSuperview];
Here you go. Cheers, mate! :)
P.S.
if you want to animate the view out, you can do it like this
[UIView animateWithDuration:1.0 delay:0 options:UIViewAnimationOptionBeginFromCurrentState animations:^{
// animation code...
} completion:^(BOOL finished) {
[[addressTableController myTableView] removeFromSuperview];
}];
