Passing variables between IOS with InvokeAPI and mobile services custom API - ios

I can do a quick SQL query within a custom API using the InbokeAPI method on iOS, but how would I pass a variable between iOS and the SQL Query within the customAPi so I can choose the ID row for example ?

When you call invoke API you can pass a JSON object over as the body. In your server side script, you can then pull that value out and use it as a parameter for your sql query. So on the client side you'd do something like this:
NSDictionary *postValues = #{ #"myParam": #"myValue"};
[self.client invokeAPI:#"myAPI" body:postValues
Then on the server side in your custom API script, you'd do something like this:
var value = request.body.myParam;
var sql = "SELECT * FROM Table WHERE Column = ?";
var mssql = request.service.mssql;
mssql.queryRaw(sql, [value], {
success: function(results) {
//do stuff for success
}, error: function(error) {
//do stuff for error
});

SAPUI5 OData V2 Batch Operations with multiple differed groups

I'm trying to do a batch operation with multiple groupids in a single batch request. and need to get results in two different batch responses.
But when I initiate the request only one group has been submitted and only get one batch response.
Here is my code
oModel = this.getOwnerComponent().getModel("mymodel");
$.sap.itemArray.forEach(function (entry) {
if (p < $.sap.itemArray.length) {
var oData = {
"AUTO_ID": entry.Id,
"VALUE": entry.Value,
};
mParameters.groupId = "createGroup1";
oModel .create("/Table1", oData, mParameters);
}
p++;
});
for (p = 0; p < $.sap.itemArray2.length; p++) {
var oData = {
"Item2ID" : $.sap.itemArray2[p].ItemsId,
"Value" : $.sap.itemArray2[p].Value
};
mParameters.groupId = "createGroup2";
oModel .create("/Table2", oData, mParameters);
}
oModel.setDeferredGroups(["createGroup1","createGroup2"]);
oStyleSizeModel.submitChanges({
success: function(recievedObject){
var responses = recievedObject.__batchResponses;
},
error: function (oError) {
var oBody = oError.responseText;
}
});
Here is the response I got.
And here it only execute the first group's requests and only returned one batch response.
How to execute multiple batch requests with different group Ids and get each group's responses.
I believe you want to group each change separately. You need to use the concept of Change Set (not Group).
Use createEntry method instead of create.
For each call, use different changeSetId, but same groupId.
Call submitChanges passing the groupId.

Creating multiple entities in single request in Microsoft Dynamics CRM (OData)

I know how to create a single entity in single request. However, one requirement wants me to create multiple entities (in my case it's multiple entries in ContactSet). I tried putting array to
POST /XRMServices/2011/OrganizationData.svc/ContactSet
[{
"MobilePhone": "+0012 555 555 555",
"YomiFullName" : "Demo User 1",
"GenderCode" : {
"Value" : 1
}
.....
<data removed for sanity>
.....
},
{
"MobilePhone": "+0012 555 555 111",
"YomiFullName" : "Demo User 2",
"GenderCode" : {
"Value" : 1
}
.....
<data removed for sanity>
.....
}]
However this does not work and I could not find any documentation explaining me ways to achieve this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
You need to use an ExecuteMultipleRequest, I don't believe this is available in Rest service however, but is available in the SOAP service.
// Get a reference to the organization service.
using (_serviceProxy = new OrganizationServiceProxy(serverConfig.OrganizationUri, serverConfig.HomeRealmUri,serverConfig.Credentials, serverConfig.DeviceCredentials))
{
// Enable early-bound type support to add/update entity records required for this sample.
_serviceProxy.EnableProxyTypes();
#region Execute Multiple with Results
// Create an ExecuteMultipleRequest object.
requestWithResults = new ExecuteMultipleRequest()
{
// Assign settings that define execution behavior: continue on error, return responses.
Settings = new ExecuteMultipleSettings()
{
ContinueOnError = false,
ReturnResponses = true
},
// Create an empty organization request collection.
Requests = new OrganizationRequestCollection()
};
// Create several (local, in memory) entities in a collection.
EntityCollection input = GetCollectionOfEntitiesToCreate();
// Add a CreateRequest for each entity to the request collection.
foreach (var entity in input.Entities)
{
CreateRequest createRequest = new CreateRequest { Target = entity };
requestWithResults.Requests.Add(createRequest);
}
// Execute all the requests in the request collection using a single web method call.
ExecuteMultipleResponse responseWithResults =
(ExecuteMultipleResponse)_serviceProxy.Execute(requestWithResults);
// Display the results returned in the responses.
foreach (var responseItem in responseWithResults.Responses)
{
// A valid response.
if (responseItem.Response != null)
DisplayResponse(requestWithResults.Requests[responseItem.RequestIndex], responseItem.Response);
// An error has occurred.
else if (responseItem.Fault != null)
DisplayFault(requestWithResults.Requests[responseItem.RequestIndex],
responseItem.RequestIndex, responseItem.Fault);
}
}
ExecuteMultipleRequest is a good but not the only way. If you use CRM 2016 you can use Batch operations that is available in new WebApi. Check article that describes it - https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/mt607719.aspx
You can use a Web API action (see MSDN) to execute an ExecuteTransactionRequest, as described here. Subject of the example on MSDN is the WinOpportunityRequest, but it should work with any supported request, including custom actions.

Unable to figure out how to use post method, for a suitescript written in Netsuite

I am trying to do use the post method for a simple suitescript program, i am very new to this.
In Netsuite i have written a suitescript as follows.
function restPost()
{
var i = nlapiLoadRecord('department', 115);
var memo = nlapisetfieldvalue('custrecord225', ' ');// this is a customfield, which i want to populate the memo field, using rest client in firefox
var recordId = nlapiSubmitRecord(i);
}
i have created a script record and uploaded this suitescript and even copied the external URL to paste it in restclient.
In Restclient(firefox plugin), pasted the external URL, i have given the method as post, header authorization given, content-type: application/json, and in body i put in {"memo":"mynamehere"};
In this the error i get is
message": "missing ) after argument list
I even tried it by writting other suitescript programs the errors i get is as follows:
Unexpected token in object literal (null$lib#3) Empty JSON string
Invalid data format. You should return TEXT.
I am kinda new to the programming world, so any help would be really good.
I think you are trying to create a RESTlet for POST method. Following is the sample code for POST method -
function createRecord(datain)
{
var err = new Object();
// Validate if mandatory record type is set in the request
if (!datain.recordtype)
{
err.status = "failed";
err.message= "missing recordtype";
return err;
}
var record = nlapiCreateRecord(datain.recordtype);
for (var fieldname in datain)
{
if (datain.hasOwnProperty(fieldname))
{
if (fieldname != 'recordtype' && fieldname != 'id')
{
var value = datain[fieldname];
if (value && typeof value != 'object') // ignore other type of parameters
{
record.setFieldValue(fieldname, value);
}
}
}
}
var recordId = nlapiSubmitRecord(record);
nlapiLogExecution('DEBUG','id='+recordId);
var nlobj = nlapiLoadRecord(datain.recordtype,recordId);
return nlobj;
}
So after deploying this RESTlet you can call this POST method by passing following sample JSON payload -
{"recordtype":"customer","entityid":"John Doe","companyname":"ABCTools Inc","subsidiary":"1","email":"jdoe#email.com"}
For Authorization you have to pass request headers as follows -
var headers = {
"Authorization": "NLAuth nlauth_account=" + cred.account + ", nlauth_email=" + cred.email +
", nlauth_signature= " + cred.password + ", nlauth_role=" + cred.role,
"Content-Type": "application/json"};
I can understand your requirement and the answer posted by Parsun & NetSuite-Expert is good. You can follow that code. That is a generic code that can accept any master record without child records. For Example Customer Without Contact or Addressbook.
I would like to suggest a small change in the code and i have given it in my solution.
Changes Below
var isExistRec = isExistingRecord(objDataIn);
var record = (isExistRec) ? nlapiLoadRecord(objDataIn.recordtype, objDataIn.internalid, {
recordmode: 'dynamic'
}) : nlapiCreateRecord(objDataIn.recordtype);
//Check for Record is Existing in Netsuite or Not using a custom function
function isExistingRecord(objDataIn) {
if (objDataIn.internalid != null && objDataIn.internalid != '' && objDataIn.internalid.trim().length > 0)
return true;
else
return false;
}
So whenever you pass JSON data to the REStlet, keep in mind you have
to pass the internalid, recordtype as mandatory values.
Thanks
Frederick
I believe you will want to return something from your function. An empty object should do fine, or something like {success : true}.
Welcome to Netsuite Suitescripting #Vin :)
I strongly recommend to go through SuiteScript API Overview & SuiteScript API - Alphabetized Index in NS help Center, which is the only and most obvious place to learn the basics of Suitescripting.
nlapiLoadRecord(type, id, initializeValues)
Loads an existing record from the system and returns an nlobjRecord object containing all the field data for that record. You can then extract the desired information from the loaded record using the methods available on the returned record object. This API is a core API. It is available in both client and server contexts.
function restPost(dataIn) {
var record = nlapiLoadRecord('department', 115); // returns nlobjRecord
record.setFieldValue('custrecord225', dataIn.memo); // set the value in custom field
var recordId = nlapiSubmitRecord(record);
return recordId;
}

Ionic Prepopulated Database with Antair Cordova SQLitePlugin [help request]

____ INTRO
Hello everyone, first of all, three clarifications:
My english is not good, so I beg your pardon in advance for my mistakes,
I'm a newbie so forgive me for inaccuracies,
I have previously searched and tried the solutions I found on the internet but still I can not solve the problem of embedding a prepopulated database.
____ THE GOAL
I want to develop an app for iOS and Android with a prepopulated database.
Just for example, the database consists of 15.000 records each one made of three key-value pair (id, firstname and lastname).
___ WHAT I DID
Steps:
ionic start myapp blank
cd myapp
ionic platform add ios
ionic platform add android
Then I created an sqlite database for testing purpose, named mydb.sqlite, made of one table people containing two id, firstname, lastname records.
I decided to use the following plugin: https://github.com/Antair/Cordova-SQLitePlugin
That's because it can be installed with cordova tool.
ionic plugin add https://github.com/Antair/Cordova-SQLitePlugin
(Alert: I think that the instructions on the website show an incorrect reference - "cordova plugin add https://github.com/brodysoft/Cordova-SQLitePlugin" - which refers to another plugin).
Then, following the instructions on the plugin website, I copied the database to myapp/www/db/ so that it can now be found at myapp/www/db/mydb.sqlite
I modified the index.html including the SQLite plugin just after the default app.js script:
<!-- your app's js -->
<script src="js/app.js"></script>
<script src="SQLitePlugin.js"></script>
I also write some lines of code in index.html file to show a button:
<ion-content ng-controller="MyCtrl">
<button class="button" ng-click="all()">All</button>
</ion-content>
Finally I had modified ./js/app.js:
// Ionic Starter App
var db = null;
angular.module('starter', ['ionic' /* What goes here? */ ])
.run(function($ionicPlatform) {
$ionicPlatform.ready(function() {
// some predefined code has been omitted
window.sqlitePlugin.importPrepopulatedDatabase({file: "mydb.sqlite", "importIfExists": true});
db = window.sqlitePlugin.openDatabase({name: "mydb.sqlite"});
}); // $ionicPlatform.ready
}) // .run
.controller('MyCtrl', function($scope){
$scope.all = function(){
var query = "SELECT * FROM people";
// I don't know how to proceed
}; // $scope.all
}); // .controller
___ THE PROBLEM
I don't know how to proceed in the controller section to query all the records (just an example of query) and show the results in the console.log.
I think that the following code must be completed in some way:
angular.module('starter', ['ionic' /* What goes here? */ ])
And also the code inside controller section must be completed:
$scope.all = function(){
var query = "SELECT * FROM people";
// I don't know how to proceed
}; // $scope.all
___ FINAL THANKS
Thank you in advance for the help you will give to me.
So this guy's code has helped a lot to encapsulate my DAL. I highly recommend that you use he's code pretty much verbatim.
https://gist.github.com/jgoux/10738978
You'll see he has the following method:
self.query = function(query, bindings) {
bindings = typeof bindings !== 'undefined' ? bindings : [];
var deferred = $q.defer();
self.db.transaction(function(transaction) {
transaction.executeSql(query, bindings, function(transaction, result) {
deferred.resolve(result);
}, function(transaction, error) {
deferred.reject(error);
});
});
return deferred.promise;
};
Let's break this down a bit. The query function takes a query string (the query param) and a list of possible bindings for ? in a query like "SELECT * FROM A_TABLE WHERE ID = ?". Because he's code is a service, the self value points to the service itself for all future invocations. The function will execute a transaction against the db, but it returns a promise that is only fulfilled once the db comes back.
His service provides a second helper function: fetchAll.
self.fetchAll = function(result) {
var output = [];
for (var i = 0; i < result.rows.length; i++) {
output.push(result.rows.item(i));
}
return output;
};
fetchAll will read the rows in their entirety into an array. The result param for fetchAll is the result variable passed in the query function's promise fulfillment.
If you copy and paste his code into your service file, you now have a bonafide DB service. You can wrap that service up in a DAL. Here's an example from my project.
.service('LocationService', function ($q, DB, Util) {
'use strict';
var self = this;
self.locations = [];
self.loadLocked = false;
self.pending = [];
self.findLocations = function () {
var d = $q.defer();
if (self.locations.length > 0) {
d.resolve(self.locations);
}
else if (self.locations.length === 0 && !self.loadLocked) {
self.loadLocked = true;
DB.query("SELECT * FROM locations WHERE kind = 'active'")
.then(function (resultSet) {
var locations = DB.fetchAll(resultSet);
self.locations.
push.apply(self.locations, locations);
self.loadLocked = false;
d.resolve(self.locations);
self.pending.forEach(function (d) {
d.resolve(self.locations);
});
}, Util.handleError);
} else {
self.pending.push(d);
}
return d.promise;
};
})
This example is a bit noisy since it has some "threading" code to make sure if the same promise is fired twice it only runs against the DB once. The general poin is to show that the DB.query returns a promise. The "then" following the query method uses the DB service to fetchAll the data and add it into my local memory space. All of this is coordinated by the self.findLocations returning the variable d.promise.
Yours would behalf similarly. The controller could have your DAL service, like my LocationService, injected into it by AngularJS. If you're using the AngularJS UI, you can have it resolve the data and pass it into the list.
Finally, the only issue I have with the guy's code is that the db should come from this code.
var dbMaker = ($window.sqlitePlugin || $window);
The reason for this is that the plugin does not work within Apache Ripple. Since the plugin does a fine job mirroring the Web SQL interface of the browser, this simple little change will enable Ripple to run your Ionic Apps while still allowing you to work your SQLite in a real device.
I hope this helps.

ASP.NET MVC ajax chat

I built an ajax chat in one of my mvc website. everything is working fine. I am using polling. At certain interval i am using $.post to get the messages from the db. But there is a problem. The message retrieved using $.post keeps on repeating. here is my javascript code and controller method.
var t;
function GetMessages() {
var LastMsgRec = $("#hdnLastMsgRec").val();
var RoomId = $("#hdnRoomId").val();
//Get all the messages associated with this roomId
$.post("/Chat/GetMessages", { roomId: RoomId, lastRecMsg: LastMsgRec }, function(Data) {
if (Data.Messages.length != 0) {
$("#messagesCont").append(Data.Messages);
if (Data.newUser.length != 0)
$("#usersUl").append(Data.newUser);
$("#messagesCont").attr({ scrollTop: $("#messagesCont").attr("scrollHeight") - $('#messagesCont').height() });
$("#userListCont").attr({ scrollTop: $("#userListCont").attr("scrollHeight") - $('#userListCont').height() });
}
else {
}
$("#hdnLastMsgRec").val(Data.LastMsgRec);
}, "json");
t = setTimeout("GetMessages()", 3000);
}
and here is my controller method to get the data:
public JsonResult GetMessages(int roomId,DateTime lastRecMsg)
{
StringBuilder messagesSb = new StringBuilder();
StringBuilder newUserSb = new StringBuilder();
List<Message> msgs = (dc.Messages).Where(m => m.RoomID == roomId && m.TimeStamp > lastRecMsg).ToList();
if (msgs.Count == 0)
{
return Json(new { Messages = "", LastMsgRec = System.DateTime.Now.ToString() });
}
foreach (Message item in msgs)
{
messagesSb.Append(string.Format(messageTemplate,item.User.Username,item.Text));
if (item.Text == "Just logged in!")
newUserSb.Append(string.Format(newUserTemplate,item.User.Username));
}
return Json(new {Messages = messagesSb.ToString(),LastMsgRec = System.DateTime.Now.ToString(),newUser = newUserSb.ToString().Length == 0 ?"":newUserSb.ToString()});
}
Everything is working absloutely perfect. But i some messages getting repeated. The first time page loads i am retrieving the data and call GetMessages() function. I am loading the value of field hdnLastMsgRec the first time page loads and after the value for this field are set by the javascript.
I think the message keeps on repeating because of asynchronous calls. I don't know, may be you guys can help me solve this.
or you can suggest better way to implement this.
Kaivalya is correct about the caching, but I'd also suggest that your design could and should be altered just a tad.
I made a very similar app recently, and what I found was that my design was greatly enhanced by letting the controllers work with the fairly standard PRG pattern (post-redirect-get). Why enhanced? well, because POST methods are built to add stuff to an app, GET methods are supposed to be used to get information without side effects. Your polling should be just getting new messages w/o side effects.
So rather than your $.post call expecting data and handling the callback, what I'd recommend is having your controller expose a method for creating new chat messages via POST and then another method that get the last X chat messages, or the messages since a certain timestamp or whatever.
The javascript callback from the post action, then can update some variables (e.g. the last message id, timestamp of the last message, or even the whole URL of the next message based on the info contained in a redirect, whatever).
The $.post would fire only in response to user input (e..g type in a box, hit 'send') Then, you have (separately) a $.get call from jquery that's set up to poll like you said, and all it does is fetch the latest chat messages and it's callback updates the chat UI with them.
I got my answer here: ASP.NET AJAX CHAT
The names below i am referring to are from above link.
i think the actual problem was with the timestamp thing and asynchronous behaviour of $.post. after calling "GetMessages()" method, even if the previous request to retrive chat message was not complete anathor call to same method used to fire due to setting timeout for "GetMessages()" method outside the $.post method. In my question you can see that timeout for "GetMessages()" method is set outside the $.post method. Now i set the timeout for "GetMessages()" method inside the $.post method. so that next call to "GetMessages()" only occur after 3 seconds of completion of current $.post method. I have posted the code below.
var t;
function GetMessages() {
var LastMsgRec = $("#hdnLastMsgRec").val();
var RoomId = $("#hdnRoomId").val();
//Get all the messages associated with this roomId
$.post("/Chat/GetMessages", { roomId: RoomId, lastRecMsg: LastMsgRec }, function(Data) {
if (Data.LastMsgRec.length != 0)
$("#hdnLastMsgRec").val(Data.LastMsgRec);
if (Data.Messages.length != 0) {
$("#messagesCont").append(Data.Messages);
if (Data.newUser.length != 0)
$("#usersUl").append(Data.newUser);
$("#messagesCont").attr({ scrollTop: $("#messagesCont").attr("scrollHeight") - $('#messagesCont').height() });
$("#userListCont").attr({ scrollTop: $("#userListCont").attr("scrollHeight") - $('#userListCont').height() });
}
else {
}
t = setTimeout("GetMessages()", 3000);
}, "json");
}
I addition to that i also changed few things. As suggested by ignatandrei i placed $("#hdnLastMsgRec").val(Data.LastMsgRec); immediately after function(Data) {.
and also
as said by MikeSW i changed the data retrieval process. Previously i was extracting data on the basis of timespan(retrieve all the data associated with
this room id that has greater timespan than last data retrieved message timespan) but now i keep track of the messageid. Now i retrieve only those data that
has message id greater than last retrieved message id.
and guess what no repeataion and perfectly working chat application so far on my intranet.
I still got to see it's performance when deployed on internet.
i think it solved my problem.
i will still test the system and let u guys know if there is any problem.
By default $.post() caches the results
You can either call $.ajaxSetup ({ cache: false}); before JS GetMessages function call to ensure caching is disabled or change the $.post to $.ajax and set cache attribute to false. In the end $.post() is a short cut to this:
$.ajax({
type: 'POST',
url: url,
data: data,
success: success
dataType: dataType
});
