Add any traineddata file in tesseract and use in IOS - ios

I am able to compile the ENGLISH version which is already in sample for tesseract but not able to add other language like ara.traineddata.
I am doing like
Tesseract* tesseract = [[Tesseract alloc] initWithDataPath:#"tessdata" language:#"ara+eng"];
And it is recogninzing ENGLISH but for ara it is giving error
Error opening data file /Users/harshthakur/Library/Application Support/iPhone Simulator/7.0/Applications/3B0A1909-E1BA-45E9-99A0-FDEAB2CFF4E0/Documents/tessdata/ara.traineddata
Please make sure the TESSDATA_PREFIX environment variable is set to the parent directory of your "tessdata" directory.

This is because the document folder does not have language file. Copy ara.traineddata file to your bundle and use this code to save your language file in document folder. Then try again. It will work fine.

Override the language defined with -initWithDataPath:language:.

You probably need ara.cube.* files also.
Flipping the order of the languages could improve recognition rates, once you get it to run.

Where to store large files fetched initially in a IOS App

My app downloads at start a sqlite database about 300MB. After the download is done, this sqlite database should be available during the installtime of the app (years :-)) . I don't know where to store this files.
I started to store the data in the library path as follow (swift)

3. I close the simulator and restart also xcode
4. I start the app again in the simulator and expect to have the already downloaded data in my apps' library path. But no ...
5. the app evaluates a new path, which has another ID in the Path:
[/Users/user/Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Devices/19E2CB7E-3ABB-4C0A-8B49-39A0BE392A93/data/Containers/Data/Application/429206E9-00EA-45EF-BE6E-4B2E9374BAF5/Library]
6. And the app downloads the content again.
I would like to have a static path over the lifetime of the device. What am I doing wrong or what should I change ?
The path is changing on the simulator but it will be the same on a real device.
If I'm not wrong, on the simulator the path change every time you restart it. On a device the path will change only if you delete and reinstall your application.
You should save downloaded image to document directory. In this way images can load fastly. If u want to overcome of reloading cell then you have to check for then file path whether is fill is there or not.

This code creates folder in your DocumentDirectory and save image there and fetch from there. I save with one unique photoID so that image can not be same. You can save with your requirement.
You should store it on Cache folder.

Providing Initial Data with Core Data in iOS

Here's what I need: To have a sqlite file populated with example entities that I made on the iPhone simulator, and then copy that file when the app initially runs for all my users.
What I've done:
I created a bunch of entries within the simulator.
I found the sqlite file attached to my app within the iPhone Simulator iOS folder on the MAC.
From the three files, .sqlite, .sqlite-shm, .sqlite-wal I simply copied the .sqlite file to my xCode project.
When I ran the app, the .sqlite file showed up empty!
How do I fix this?

This tutorial can be a big help.
You made almost everything, but you are missing an important step. You need to copy the sqlite to your xcode project then you need to check in your persistentStoreCoordinator if the sqlite file exists in your Documents area. If not, you need to copy it. Jump to "Doctor, you’re needed in Xcode" section in that tutorial :).

NSFileManager createFileAtPath works in simulator but fails on device

I am trying to write some image data to disk on iOS, but while it's working perfectly in the Simulator, when I try it on a real iPad it fails (returns 0).

The path in question looks something like this: /Library/Caches/_0_0_0_0_1100_1149.jpg and I've also tried /Documents/....
Is there any way to actually get an error code or something beyond just success/fail?
The simulator does not simulate the sandboxing of the file system that is enforced on a device. You can write anywhere on the sim, but on a device writing anywhere but one of your designated directories will fail.
I'm guessing that your path is badly formed somehow. Try logging your path and the path you get from NSCachesDirectory (as shown in your second post.) They are almost certainly different.
Turns out you have to programmatically obtain the directory. The iOS file system is not sandboxed like I expected.

If you're writing image data, why not try writing via NSData's [writeToFile: options: error:] method, the "error" parameter for which can give you some really useful hints as to why your file isn't writing.
This is illogical:

Get Image Path from Images Directory in Supporting Files

I have a bunch of images stored in an images directory within my Supported Files directory in Xcode. I want to be able to show one of those images. What is the best way to obtain a path to that image? Do I have to copy them to the Documents directory first? If so, how can I do that?
EDIT: I've tried the following to copy the image from Supporting Files to the Documents folder in the app. It successfully copies, but I can't get the image to show:

Some additional information:
-imageNamed: will look through the entire main bundle of the application for an imagefile (preferrably an png) with the filename of "someImageName". You need not worry about its location or its extension, since it will be searched for in the mainbundle. Files that you import through the import-file-dialogue in xcode will be added to he main bundle.
This means:
If i have imported a file called myImage.png, calling [UIImage imageNamed:#"myImage"];from anywhere in my code will get me a UIImage-Object containing that image. Its amazingly simple, and maybe that startled you a bit ;)

Where should I put the XML file in iPhone Simulator's filesystem. XCode 4.2

A little embarrassing question, but I can find an answer which works in my case... I need to put some xml file (settings.xml) in order to read some data from it during application runtime.
According to some answers here and not only here, I have putted it here:
~/Library/Application Support/iPhone Simulator/5.0/[AppUUID]/Documents
and I'm trying to use it as follows:

If you are putting the file into the .../Documents folder then you need to use the following code to access it (you are looking for it in the App Bundle, which is a different location altogether):
