Querying by Custom Field in TFS - tfs

I've added a custom field/column to the 'task' type in TFS and can populate it as I'm adding new work items without a problem, but it doesn't appear as a field I can query or sort against.
The custom field is specific to this project. It's a simple number.
How can I sort by this field, or at least display it in the results set.

Found it.
The custom field name was preceded with 'Custom'. Didn't think to run right through the list; just jumped straight to where I'd expect it to be alphabetically.
I blame the time of day/week.

How do I get MS-Access form entries to save to a table (or query)?

We have two teams working on system related issues and my Access database has one table for each teams open issues. I have created a query that matches issues from each list based on the system name. The query is returning potential matches correctly.
From there, I need to be able to review each "match" and select yes or no on a dropdown to confirm if both teams are working the same issue in order to quickly and easily reduce redundancies. I would prefer to review each result in a form format and have figured out how to add a dropdown box with the yes/no options; however, once I've validated each item, I'd like to filter the results down to only show the items that have been designated as "yes".
That's where I'm stuck. The form is not currently saving the results, including the dropdown info, to a table from what I can see.
How can I get the form to load to a table (or query) in order to filter out the "no" responses?
Try converting your query to an append query or an update query. Create a new table that this query adds data to, and in that table create a new field called "YesNo" or something like that. Put that new field from your table as a control source for your dropdown and should add a value in the "YesNo" field in your new table based on what you select. I'm not sure what value will be added to the table, I did something similar with a check box, when it's clicked it adds a "-1" and when it's unclicked, it adds a 0. Then I run a report that selects records based on the value in that field. I'm assuming the dropdown would work in a similar way but not a 100% sure. Hope I understood your issue, I'm no expert at access but I ran into the opposite issue recently where I didn't want the form to save the results.

How to add unique constraint on combination of two fields

I want to add unique constraint on combination of two fields design-time in ClientDataSet.
This works but it changes index in ascending order(by default) and mess my code,
I think, i want to add the constraint from here
but it's obviously wrong way to do it and i cant find any information on google for this topic.
Do what's on the first picture but specify semicolon separated field list in the DescFields property as well. That defines the fields of the index that will be sorted in descending order.

Rails: Create a drop down list (within a form) where it's possible to select more than one value

(I've made up the example below as it's clearer than going through my specific case.)
Suppose I have a form for a User, and that the underlying User table has a personality_traits field; an array of the user's personality traits. Is there a standard way in rails to create a drop-down list so that the user can pick any number of a selection of attributes (e.g., "easy-going", "fun-loving", "quick-tempered"), and have these ultimately feed into the personality_traits field as an array? If not, does anyone know of a particularly good method?

Entity Framework Where Any Column Contains

When writing a where condition on an Entity Framework context object, is there a shorthand way of testing all the columns, sort of like this:
context.tableName.where(t => t.AnyColumn.Contains(...))
Or am I forced to test each column individually?
There is no out-of-the-box way to do that but you can write your own method which will use reflection to get the list of your model's properties and check each of them
I don't know that this is possible you may have to search each field individually, but why not search for a value in a specific column instead of searching the whole table, it reduces the room for error and makes for a quicker query

MVC and Entity Framework - inserts, updates, best practice

I'll try to be short and clear with this question.
We have an asp.net mvc app that uses entity framework 4.
Our business model is relatively straightforward:
We have an object (which corresponds to a table) called Photo(s).
That photos table has a handful of columns that match up to properties on the object.
Description,Title,Date etc.
It also has a number columns that reference foreign keys for other tables:
AuthorId,LicenseId etc...
The author and license tables are complex in their own right, with multiple fields (Title,Summary,Date etc.)
I have multiple clients using this application to view their photos. I would like each client to dictate what fields they see when viewing the photos, as well as what fields they see when editing those fields.
My thought is to have tables setup saying client-a should see Field1,Field2 and Field3 when viewing their photos - and client-b should see Field1,Field4 and Field5. But some of these fields are not simply columns in the main photos table, they may be fields in a child table. so Field1 might be: Table.Photos.Title -> which corresponds to an object as: Objects.Photo.title...
but Field3 might be: Table.Licenses.LicenseSummary -> which corresponds to an object as: Objects.Photo.License.LicenseSummary
I'm trying to figure out the methodology that we would use to have a very data driven environment so in the DB I can say, display this object/property (for viewing or editing) and then it would know how to map to whatever table it needs to pull that information. also, during editing... give it some way to pull a list of available values if it is that type of property, and not just a text field.
I'm looking for an example of what this might involve, our model is actually more complex than this, but this is just an idea of what we are trying to accomplish. I don't know if what I'm trying to do is normal, perhaps it involves reflection? This is a new area for me.
If the clients are defining their own custom fields, I would simply give them a Key/Value pairs table.

Note that this essentially amounts to EAV, which comes with its own set of difficulties.
If it's just about permissions on existing fields, you need to capture that information:
PhotoID FK
ClientID FK
FieldName string
Display Bool
You can use this information to inhibit the display of fields in the View. The easiest way to do that would be to use a loop in the View itself, writing the field to the output only if Display is set to true.
