I successfully captured image from rear iphone camera and use it as UIImage.
Right after the image is available I call this method:
- (void)putPhoto:(UIImage *)photo onTopOfPreview:(UIView *)preview {
CALayer *photoLayer = [CALayer layer];
photoLayer.frame = CGRectMake(10, 10, 300, 300);
photoLayer.contents = (id)photo.CGImage;
[self.view.layer addSublayer:photoLayer];
// [preview.layer addSublayer:photoLayer];
}
but the image is rotated by -90˚. As this is the first time I used CALayers I try to present the image with UIImageView like this:
- (void)putPhotoOnScreen:(UIImage *)photo {
UIImageView *imageView = [[UIImageView alloc]initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, 300, 300)];
imageView.image = photo;
[self.view addSubview:imageView];
}
And with this method the image is presented correctly. All of this happens in portrait orientation.
All the suggestions are welcome.
try this method

# pragma mark - Scale and Rotate according to Orientation

If you want to change the orientation of the image,it could be changed by setting the UIImage in UIImageView by setting the orientation enum.
UIImage *imageToDisplay =[UIImage imageWithCGImage:[originalImage CGImage]
scale:1.0
orientation: UIImageOrientationUp];
You can set this image to UIImageView.

I am showing images from iPhone gallery in my application, But the image is showing as reverse. User can not watching the image perfectly. So how to move image as straight so that user will see the image as normal image.

Thank You.
Change the image orientation value in your image
UIImage *originalImage = image from iPhone gallery;
UIImage *imageToDisplay = [UIImage imageWithCGImage:[originalImage CGImage]
scale:1.0
orientation: UIImageOrientationRight];
Change Orientation according to your need.

I am using following code to taking image from camera. but my problem is that image is rotating to 90 degree left side. I tried to rotate my image manually but nothing worked.
any idea how to solve this ???
- (void)imagePickerController:(UIImagePickerController *)picker didFinishPickingMediaWithInfo:(NSDictionary *)info
{
UIImage *img = [info objectForKey:#"UIImagePickerControllerOriginalImage"];
//CGImageRef imageRef = [img CGImage];
//img = [UIImage imageWithCGImage:imageRef scale:1.0 orientation:UIImageOrientationRight];
[picker dismissViewControllerAnimated:NO completion:nil];
// image encode to base64
NSData* data = UIImageJPEGRepresentation(img, 0.5f);
self.image = [data base64EncodedStringWithOptions:NSDataBase64Encoding64CharacterLineLength];

I am clicking a picture from camera using UIImagePickerController and then I am scaling the image as per its aspect ratio and getting new image with dimensions as 320*428.
When I am displaying it to the UIImageView which is of dimensions 320*374 in iPhone 4, with image as UIViewContentModeTopLeft then image is losing the pixels or clarity.
In iPhone 5, I am scaling the image to dimensions 345*462. When I am displaying it to the UIImageView which is of dimensions 320*462 in iPhone 5, with image as UIViewContentModeTopLeft then image is losing the pixels or clarity.

Right now, I am only performing this in portrait mode by using a UIImagePicker to take a picture in portrait and set it as a UIView, while constraining the user to portrait only view.
However, I would like to extend landscape functionality for this. Based upon the way one takes a picture (either in portrait or landscape), set the returned image as a UIView and present it in the same orientation as the picture was taken. Also constrain the user from switching to a different orientation. (IE: If the picture was snapped in landscape, please make the UIView only viewable in landscape.)
try this code:
it automatically change orientation
- (void)imagePickerController:(UIImagePickerController *)picker didFinishPickingMediaWithInfo:(NSDictionary *)info {
UIImage *choosedImage = [info objectForKey:UIImagePickerControllerOriginalImage];

I am facing a very strange problem here. When i click an image in portrait mode and upload it and then again fetch it it is displayed rotated 90 degrees counter clock wise. But when i see it in camera roll it is displayed in correct orientation as it was taken in. I have tried almost all possible links/codes for this issue but nothing seemed to help. I save images in JPEG representation.Please help with this someone.
Thanks in advance!!
Resolved by making a category on UIImage and scaling and rotating image based on their metadata EXIF's.

TRy using this one:
NSData *profileData = UIImageJPEGRepresentation(self.profileImgView.image, 1.0);
instead of:
NSData *profileData = UIImagePNGRepresentation(profileImgView.image);
Hope it works. :)
