I learnt from somewhere that if i update my apple device to iOS 7 it would not be able to connect it with Xcode 4.6 for debugging. But I am able to use my iPod 5 running iOS 7 with Xcode 4.6, used it to debug my code. Most of the time Xcode do not connect with device but sometimes it do.
Please advise what kind of problem it can be?

When you update your device with iOS7 or any newest iOS which are not suporting the old version of Xcode but when you open it with new version of Xcode you are able to access it. Once you do so than it run on your older version of Xcode too and you can easily test your app using old version of Xcode.

Since I updated my iPhone on iOS 16 beta, I can't execute my apps in development on my device.
When I connect my phone, and try to execute the app on it, I get the following error:
The run destination MyiPhone is not valid for Running the scheme
'App'. Xcode doesn’t support iPhone’s iOS 16.0 (20A5312j).
Thanks a lot!
You need to either update your Xcode to use the beta version(7.3Gb), or add iOS 16 to Xcode's DeviceSupport folder(8.02Mb): iOS-DeviceSupport

It is not possible to build app for iOS 13 in Xcode 9.2. You need Xcode 11 or above. You can download latest Xcode from App Store link .

This iPhone 6 is running iOS 10.1 (14B55c), which may not be supported by this version of Xcode

I want to run my IOS application on iphone but I am getting below mentioned error.
"This iPhone 6 is running iOS 10.3.2 (14F89), which may not be supported by this version of Xcode."
How to fix it.
Your version of xCode does not support iOS 10.3.2.
Just check, your deploy target contains iOS 10.3 or not. If not, you should use another version of xCode.
You have to upgrade your Xcode to v8.3 in order to install your build on iOS 10.3.
If you wish to use the Xcode 8.2 in order to run a build on iOS 10.3 then check this thread: How to use iOS 10.3 devices with Xcode 8.2.1
Your Xcode version doesnot support devices above 10.3 iOS version. The device which you connected is above 10.3. One solution is to download the respective developer disk image from somewhere and save it to /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport and restart Xcode. Second solution is to update your Xcode.
Just create .ipa file and run using itunes, otherwise you need to update your xcode to newer version

Getting old OS versions on the Xcode iOS simulator [duplicate]

Install iOS 6 simulator on Xcode 6

Every simulator that I have on Xcode runs on version 8.4 but I want to test on iOS 6 and 7.
I've done what this answer recommends: https://stackoverflow.com/a/8477254/1282637
However, when I go to Xcode -> preferences - downloads, the only non-iOS 8 version available is 7.1:
Is there a way I can download an iOS 6.x.x simulator? Thanks!
In Xcode 6 , iOS simulator for iOS version 6.x seems to be deprecated.
Apple deprecates old technologies very aggressively. Formaly saying, you should deprecate support for older version of OSes such as 6.x.
If the Xcode doesn't provide older version of simulator, the only way to do this is to install older version of Xcode.
download older Versions
Currently you can just use Xcode 5.x.

Xcode 5 for IOS 8 apps

ive just started to Learn to program and write code in objective C, i want to be making iphone apps/games. Im currently stuck with an old iMac that cannot run Mavericks therefore cannot run Xcode 6. So my question is, can i make IOS 8 apps in Xcode 5? Thanks!
Unfortunately you can't use iOS 8 features in your development as it's available from Xcode 6 and it's SDK. Your app built with previous versions of SDK should run on latest system version when downloaded from AppStore but if you want to debug on device with iOS8 than xcode 5 will complain about your SDK.
In my opinion: No you cant. The SDK for iOS 8 could only be installed in XCode 6.
But you could use:
