In the box api there's a button to make a folder. But i can't figure out how to modify the button to let me make a folder with subfolders included.
what im trying to make:
When you click the Add folder button you get a NSAlert which asks you what name you want to give it. This alert must be modified so it has multiple text bars. In the first bar you can fill in the new folders name. the other (3) you can leave blank for creating no subfolders, or fill in a name to create a subfolder.
Is this possible? I would appreciate every help or hint you can give me!
some code:
#pragma mark - Folder creation - (void)addFolderButtonClicked:(id)sender { UIAlertView *folderNamePrompt = [[UIAlertView alloc] initWithTitle:#"Add Folder" message:#"Name:" delegate:self cancelButtonTitle:#"Cancel" otherButtonTitles:#"OK", nil];
folderNamePrompt.alertViewStyle = UIAlertViewStylePlainTextInput;
[folderNamePrompt show];
}
- (void)alertView:(UIAlertView *)alertView clickedButtonAtIndex:(NSInteger)buttonIndex
{ if (buttonIndex == alertView.firstOtherButtonIndex) { UITextField *nameField = [alertView textFieldAtIndex:0]; BoxFolderBlock success = ^(BoxFolder *folder) { [self fetchFolderItemsWithFolderID:self.folderID name:self.navigationItem.title]; };
BoxAPIJSONFailureBlock failure = ^(NSURLRequest *request, NSHTTPURLResponse *response, NSError *error, NSDictionary *JSONDictionary)
{
NSLog(#"folder create failed with error code: %i", response.statusCode);
if (response.statusCode == 409)
{
dispatch_sync(dispatch_get_main_queue(), ^{
UIAlertView *conflictAlert = [[UIAlertView alloc] initWithTitle:#"Name conflict" message:[NSString stringWithFormat:#"A folder already exists with the name %#.\n\nNew name:", nameField.text] delegate:self cancelButtonTitle:#"Cancel" otherButtonTitles:#"OK", nil];
conflictAlert.alertViewStyle = UIAlertViewStylePlainTextInput;
[conflictAlert show];
});
}
};
BoxFoldersRequestBuilder *builder = [[BoxFoldersRequestBuilder alloc] init];
builder.name = nameField.text;
builder.parentID = self.folderID;
[[BoxSDK sharedSDK].foldersManager createFolderWithRequestBuilder:builder success:success failure:failure];
}

I need to implement touch ID and have to show alert to user for authentication attempts left. Below code Im using.
reply block not getting called after one wrong authentication attempt. Its getting called after 3 continues wrong authentication attempt. Is there any way to get count of wrong authentication attempts..?
LAContext *myContext = [[LAContext alloc] init];
NSError *authError = nil;
NSString *myLocalizedReasonString = #"Touch ID Test to show Touch ID working in a custom app";
if ([myContext canEvaluatePolicy:LAPolicyDeviceOwnerAuthenticationWithBiometrics error:&authError]) {
[myContext evaluatePolicy:LAPolicyDeviceOwnerAuthenticationWithBiometrics
localizedReason:myLocalizedReasonString
reply:^(BOOL success, NSError *error) {
if (success) {
dispatch_async(dispatch_get_main_queue(), ^{
[self performSegueWithIdentifier:#"Success" sender:nil];
});
} else {
dispatch_async(dispatch_get_main_queue(), ^{
UIAlertView *alertView = [[UIAlertView alloc] initWithTitle:#"Error"
message:error.description
delegate:self
cancelButtonTitle:#"OK"
otherButtonTitles:nil, nil];
[alertView show];
NSLog(#"Switch to fall back authentication - ie, display a keypad or password entry box");
});
}
}];
} else {
dispatch_async(dispatch_get_main_queue(), ^{
UIAlertView *alertView = [[UIAlertView alloc] initWithTitle:#"Error"
message:authError.description
delegate:self
cancelButtonTitle:#"OK"
otherButtonTitles:nil, nil];
[alertView show];
});
}
I went through the documentation, it is not possible to show alert in each failed attempt. Just refer the documentation
LocalAuthentication in iOS. You can show alerts at different error cases. After 3rd failed attempt LAError.authenticationFailed will be called and after 5th failed attempt LAError.touchIDLockout will be called. You can display the alerts here. For more info refer Apple LAError documentation.
I am currently working on a project and using tesseract API .
The code is following :
UIImage *bwImage = [image g8_blackAndWhite];
[self.activityIndicator startAnimating];
// Display the preprocessed image to be recognized in the view
self.imageView.image = bwImage;
G8RecognitionOperation *operation = [[G8RecognitionOperation alloc] init];
operation.tesseract.engineMode = G8OCREngineModeTesseractOnly;
operation.tesseract.pageSegmentationMode = G8PageSegmentationModeAutoOnly;
operation.delegate = self;
operation.recognitionCompleteBlock = ^(G8Tesseract *tesseract) {
// Fetch the recognized text
NSString *recognizedText = tesseract.recognizedText;
NSLog(#"%#", recognizedText);
[self.activityIndicator stopAnimating];
// Spawn an alert with the recognized text
UIAlertView *alert = [[UIAlertView alloc] initWithTitle:#"OCR Result"
message:recognizedText
delegate:nil
cancelButtonTitle:#"OK"
otherButtonTitles:nil];
[alert show];
};
//NSLog(#"%#",);
// Finally, add the recognition operation to the queue
[self.operationQueue addOperation:operation];
}
I want to pass recognizedText string to second View controller but it is not visible outside the block.
How can I achieve this, any advice?
Declare recognizedText outside block with __block keyword to make it visible outside block.
Like below code:
......
__block NSString *recognizedText;//declared outside to make it visible outside block
operation.recognitionCompleteBlock = ^(G8Tesseract *tesseract) {
// Fetch the recognized text
recognizedText = tesseract.recognizedText;
NSLog(#"%#", recognizedText);
[self.activityIndicator stopAnimating];
// Spawn an alert with the recognized text
UIAlertView *alert = [[UIAlertView alloc] initWithTitle:#"OCR Result"
message:recognizedText
delegate:nil
cancelButtonTitle:#"OK"
otherButtonTitles:nil];
[alert show];
};
......
I am building an App according to this tutorial (http://bit.ly/NI9kQe) which uses a custom web api to connect to the web server. One of the requirements is to detect whether or not the Login or Register button has been tapped. This is done using a "tag" which has been set for the button in interface builder (the register button has a tag of 1).
The chunk of code sits inside the btnLoginRegisterTapped method as follows (the error occurs on the line -> NSString* command = (sender.tag==1)?#"register":#"login";):
- (IBAction)btnLoginRegisterTapped:(id)sender {
//form fields validation
if (fldUserName.text.length < 4 || fldPassword.text.length < 4) {
// [UIAlertView error:#"Enter username and password over 4 chars each."];
UIAlertView *alert = [[UIAlertView alloc] initWithTitle:#"Opps!!" message:#"Enter username and password over 4 chars each." delegate:self cancelButtonTitle:#"Cancel" otherButtonTitles:nil];
// optional - add more buttons:
[alert addButtonWithTitle:#"Yes"];
[alert show];
return;
}
//salt the password
NSString* saltedPassword = [NSString stringWithFormat:#"%#%#", fldPassword.text, kSalt];
//prepare the hashed storage
NSString* hashedPassword = nil;
unsigned char hashedPasswordData[CC_SHA1_DIGEST_LENGTH];
//hash the pass
NSData *data = [saltedPassword dataUsingEncoding: NSUTF8StringEncoding];
if (CC_SHA1([data bytes], [data length], hashedPasswordData)) {
hashedPassword = [[NSString alloc] initWithBytes:hashedPasswordData length:sizeof(hashedPasswordData) encoding:NSASCIIStringEncoding];
} else {
UIAlertView *alert = [[UIAlertView alloc] initWithTitle:#"Opps!!" message:#"Password cannot be reset!" delegate:self cancelButtonTitle:#"Cancel" otherButtonTitles:nil];
// optional - add more buttons:
[alert addButtonWithTitle:#"Yes"];
[alert show];
return;
}
//************ THIS IS WHERE THE ERROR OCCURS *****************//
//check whether it's a login or register
NSString* command = (sender.tag==1)?#"register":#"login";
NSMutableDictionary* params =[NSMutableDictionary dictionaryWithObjectsAndKeys:
command, #"command",
fldUserName.text, #"username",
hashedPassword, #"password",
nil];
//make the call to the web API
[[API sharedInstance] commandWithParams:params
onCompletion:^(NSDictionary *json) {
//handle the response
//result returned
NSDictionary* res = [[json objectForKey:#"result"] objectAtIndex:0];
if ([json objectForKey:#"error"]==nil && [[res objectForKey:#"IdUser"] intValue]>0) {
//success
[[API sharedInstance] setUser: res];
[self.presentingViewController dismissViewControllerAnimated:YES completion:nil];
//show message to the user
[[[UIAlertView alloc] initWithTitle:#"Logged in"
message:[NSString stringWithFormat:#"Welcome %#",[res objectForKey:#"username"] ]
delegate:nil
cancelButtonTitle:#"Close"
otherButtonTitles: nil] show];
} else {
//error
UIAlertView *alert = [[UIAlertView alloc] initWithTitle:#"Opps!!" message:#"Server down? Try Again" delegate:self cancelButtonTitle:#"Cancel" otherButtonTitles:nil];
// optional - add more buttons:
[alert addButtonWithTitle:#"Yes"];
[alert show];
return;
}
}];
}
when I try to build the project (workspace actually) I get the error:
Property 'tag' not found on object of type '_strong id'
I am using xcode 5.0 deploying for iOS7.
Thanks,
Property syntax cannot be used with variables of the generic id type.
So either replace sender.tag by the method call [sender tag] or better,
use the actual type of the sender argument in the method definition:
- (IBAction)btnLoginRegisterTapped:(UIButton *)sender { ... }
Tip: When creating the action with "Control-Drag" in Xcode,
use the pop-up in the "Type" field to select the actual type of the sender.
Then the action method is created with the correct argument type.
I have about 4 alert views with different criteria when they appear. In all 4 views, the right button should always do the same thing.
I use the code below to try and say IF the buttonIndex == 1, do something.
Currently, It only works in one of my alert views. The others just end up closing the alert view and never running the code for IF buttonIndex == 1.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
if (a==1) {
NSString *message = [[NSString alloc] initWithFormat:
#"Only $%#!",dollas.text];
UIAlertView *alert = [[UIAlertView alloc] initWithTitle:
#"Really?!"
message:message
delegate:self
cancelButtonTitle:#"Close"
otherButtonTitles:#"Facebook",nil];
[alert show];
[alert release];
[message release];
}
else if (a==2) {
NSString *message = [[NSString alloc] initWithFormat:
#"Somone just paid you $%#", dollas.text];
UIAlertView *alert = [[UIAlertView alloc] initWithTitle:
#"Swish!"
message:message
delegate:nil
cancelButtonTitle:#"Close"
otherButtonTitles:#"Facebook",nil];
[alert show];
[alert release];
[message release];
}
And the delegate:
- (void)alertView:(UIAlertView *)actionSheet didDismissWithButtonIndex:(NSInteger)buttonIndex {
if (buttonIndex == 1)
{
do.stuff;
}
You should be setting the delegate to self so that method gets called.
IE -
UIAlertView *alert = [[UIAlertView alloc] initWithTitle:
#"Really?!"
message:message
delegate:self //SELF
cancelButtonTitle:#"Close"
otherButtonTitles:#"Facebook",nil];
Set the tags on each alertview and inside -didDismissWithButtonIndex check first for the alerts tag
eg:
if (a==1) {
NSString *message = [[NSString alloc] initWithFormat:
#"Only $%#!",dollas.text];
UIAlertView *alert = [[UIAlertView alloc] initWithTitle:
#"Really?!"
message:message
delegate:self
cancelButtonTitle:#"Close"
otherButtonTitles:#"Facebook",nil];
alert.tag = 1;
[alert show];
[alert release];
[message release];
}
else if (a==2) {
NSString *message = [[NSString alloc] initWithFormat:
#"Somone just paid you $%#", dollas.text];
UIAlertView *alert = [[UIAlertView alloc] initWithTitle:
#"Swish!"
message:message
delegate:nil
cancelButtonTitle:#"Close"
otherButtonTitles:#"Facebook",nil];
alert.tag = 2;
[alert show];
[alert release];
[message release];
}
then in -didDismissWithButtonIndex
- (void)alertView:(UIAlertView *)actionSheet didDismissWithButtonIndex:(NSInteger)buttonIndex {
if (buttonIndex == 1 && actionSheet.tag == 1)
{
do.stuff;
}
else if (buttonIndex == 1 && actionSheet.tag == 2)
{
do.otherStuff;
}
For the case (a == 2) you set the UIAlertView delegate to nil, so - (void)alertView:(UIAlertView *)actionSheet didDismissWithButtonIndex:(NSInteger)buttonIndex shouldn't even be getting called for this case. Change it to set the delegate to self.
I have an implementation problem with a project using MKStoreKit. I am trying to implement an UIAlertView with various purchase options.
Here is the code where I do various things and call up UIAlertView:
- (BOOL)gestureRecognizer:(UIGestureRecognizer *)gestureRecognizer shouldReceiveTouch:(UITouch *)touch
{
if(FALSE == payWallFlag)
{
// Display Alert Dialog
UIAlertView *message = [[UIAlertView alloc] initWithTitle:#"Subscription Options"
message:#"You do not have an active subscription. Please purchase one of the options below."
delegate:self
cancelButtonTitle:#"Cancel"
otherButtonTitles:nil];
[message addButtonWithTitle:#"7 Day Subscription $0.99"];
[message show];
return FALSE;
} else if(TRUE == payWallFlag)
{
// Load content
}
}
This is the physical alertView with the code which I am trying to call:
- (void)alertView:(UIAlertView *)alertView clickedButtonAtIndex:(NSInteger)buttonIndex
{
NSString *title = [alertView buttonTitleAtIndex:buttonIndex];
if([title isEqualToString:#"Cancel"])
{
NSLog(#"Cancel Button was selected.");
}
else if([title isEqualToString:#"7 Day Subscription $0.99"])
{
NSLog(#"7 Day Subscription button pressed.");
//Buy a 7 day subscription
if([SKPaymentQueue canMakePayments]) {
[[MKStoreManager sharedManager] buyFeature:kFeatureAId onComplete:^(NSString* purchasedFeature)
{
NSLog(#"Purchased: %#", purchasedFeature);
// Send an alert to the user
UIAlertView *alert = [[UIAlertView alloc] initWithTitle:#"Purchase Successful"
message:#"Thank you. You have successfully purchased a 7 Day Subscription."
delegate:nil
cancelButtonTitle:#"OK"
otherButtonTitles:nil];
[alert autorelease];
[alert show];
// Show the user the content now
payWallFlag = TRUE;
return TRUE;
}
onCancelled:^
{
// Send an alert to the user
UIAlertView *alert = [[UIAlertView alloc] initWithTitle:#"Purchase Failed"
message:#"Unfortunately you have cancelled your purchase of a 7 Day Subscription. Please try again."
delegate:nil
cancelButtonTitle:#"OK"
otherButtonTitles:nil];
[alert autorelease];
[alert show];
// Block the content again
payWallFlag = FALSE;
}];
}
else
{
NSLog(#"Parental control enabled");
// Send an alert to the user
UIAlertView *alert = [[UIAlertView alloc] initWithTitle:#"Purchase Failed"
message:#"Unfortunately Parental Controls are preventing you from purchasing a subscription. Please try again."
delegate:nil
cancelButtonTitle:#"OK"
otherButtonTitles:nil];
[alert autorelease];
[alert show];
// Block the content again
payWallFlag = FALSE;
}
}
}
The issue is I get the following Xcode error message in the UIAlertView:
Incompatible block pointer types sending 'int (^)(NSString *)' to parameter of type 'void (^)(NSString *)'
It appears the problems are: onComplete:^(NSString* purchasedFeature) and onCancelled:^ but I have no idea how to fix this.
You should not return TRUE; from that block, because then the compiler assumes that block returns an int, while it should return void (hence incompatible block types).
...onComplete:^(NSString* purchasedFeature) {
NSLog(#"Purchased: %#", purchasedFeature);
// Send an alert to the user
UIAlertView *alert = [[UIAlertView alloc] ...];
[alert autorelease];
[alert show];
// Show the user the content now
payWallFlag = TRUE;
return TRUE; // <--- Remove this line.
}...
For the second block (the onCancelled one), you probably missed the NSString* parameter, or whatever it expects.
