I have managed to display a YouTube video in MPMoviePlayerController. Now I want to set different quality of the video just as YouTube has done it.
I am using LBYoutubeextractor to display video in MPMoviePlayer from youtube.
As in the image above, I want to enable the user to change video quality by clicking on various pixel options, like 1080pHD, 720pHD, etc.
How do I achieve this?

I am working on video player app which streams video from m3u8 url.
Due to apple limitation, I can't set specific video quality during playtime or startup. I am curious because i can see this feature supported in Youtube iOS app.
Apple provides preferredPeakBitRate but it doesn't guarantee whether video will be played in that bitrate.
How do youtube able to achieve that video quality or maintaining specific video quality in iOS?
Just let me know if i am doing anything wrong or missing anything. Thanks in advance
I wanted to implement a video quality control in video player in swift.I have used preferredPeakBitRate of avplayer item but I am not able to change the quality of video while the video is playing.I have the manifest file URL that contains different bit rates of video.Kindly suggest me any third party video player that used manual video quality control or tell me how I can achieve using avplayer in swift.
I need to create an application that captures a video from a webcam. Later on I need to load the video and be able to navigate around in the video freely.
When I use the videocap-demo that comes with the Sources of DSPack, the captured video is encoded in H264. When I navigate around in that video, the picture becomes blurry, with wrong colors and you can't recognize the picture. (I tried with VLC and Windows media player)
...playing the video works, but after jumping to any position in the video, it looks like this...
How can I tell DSPack to capture the video e.g. in the old MJPEG-format?
(I tried with old videos from my camera. In MJpeg the navigation seems to work flawless)
Thanks in advance, R.
I have been trying to create a video template which uses alpha channel video overlayed on the mp4 videos and images.
This is how I need to create a video http://viewptch.ptchcdn.com/rendered/52b28a9f8d4f980f3a3f99c3_cb44bf2b/52b28a9f8d4f980f3a3f99c3_lrg_main_main.mov
For overlaying alpha video on another videos, I have used AVAnimator, I was succeeded for playing a preview using AVFoundation, AVSynchronizedLayer and AVAnimator.
When rendering video from composition, frames of alpha channel videos renders very slowly.
I need to create a video with alpha channel video on top of another video.
Can any one please suggest me what are the possible ways to render a video like http://viewptch.ptchcdn.com/rendered/52b28a9f8d4f980f3a3f99c3_cb44bf2b/52b28a9f8d4f980f3a3f99c3_lrg_main_main.mov ?
You mention that you have looked at AVAnimator, did you download the KittyBoom example project and try it out? The specifics of how it works are detailed in this post. One thing to note is that when you build and run on the device, you need to turn Debug mode off otherwise it will not execute quickly because a number of extra checks are done in debug mode. Also, you have to make sure to test on the actual device, the simulator is not a good measure of performance on a real device. Performance is a key problem with video that contains an alpha channel as iOS does not support video with an alpha channel by default.
If you look here you will see some YouTube videos. I set the zoom on them to .9. I would like to have the zoom be around .3 but many YouTube videos will not play when the zoom is that small. Is there any way to achieve the effect and still have the video play?
The YouTube player has a minimum embed size of 200px by 200px. You can read the YouTube api blog for more details.
