MVC3 using Open Office to convert Docx to PDF Issue - asp.net-mvc

Newbie to site and MVC/.net web development.
I have searched hi and low and although there are some threads about this issue, I cannot seem to get a solution/direct answer ... hopefully someone here can assist.
I am using VS2010/MVC3/C#/.Net4/IIS7 to develop an internet app. making use of Open Office 3.4.1 to create PDF's from Docx documents.
I used this approach: http://tinyway.wordpress.com/2011/03/30/how-to-convert-office-documents-to-pdf-using-open-office-in-c/
All works fine on my local development machine, however as soon as I publish on the test server ... the bootstrap call (line 10) does not return (simply hangs for lack of better description)
Hopefully someone here can help.
Thanks, Eugene

I guess you have installed Open Office on your development machine. You have to do the same on your web server making sure you're using the same Open Office version.
Your application must reference these assemblies:
cli_basetypes.dll
cli_cppuhelper.dll
cli_oootypes.dll
cli_ure.dll
cli_uretypes.dll
and they all have to be set "Copy Local" to false.
You won't deploy these dlls cause they're going to be loaded from the GAC.
If your IIS is running on a x64 OS you might need to:
"Enable 32-Bit Applications" = True
This article might help you.

Is there other way to get the Microsoft Edge DevTools Preview without Microsoft store?

I always debug the WebView control with VS, I refer to the this official document Debug a WebView control in a UWP App.
Recently, I found there is a best way to debug the WebView control by using the
Microsoft Edge DevTools Preview App.
The problem is that it seems the only way to install the tools is Microsoft Store. Unfortunately the Miscrosoft Store is blocked on my machine, I want to know is there any other way to get the Microsoft Edge DevTools Preview tool? Any help would be appreciated, thank you in advance.
I found this article https://windowsreport.com/download-microsoft-store-apps-without-store which seems to show a way of doing this.
I cannot state if it definitely works yet as I have to wait for my IT to department to decide if it can be allowed.
Steps are:
Visit https://store.rg-adguard.net/
Enter https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/p/microsoft-edge-devtools-preview/9mzbfrmz0mnj
Download the file ending in appxbundle (to it's own directory not just "downloads")
Open Powershell as Admin
Execute something like Add-AppxPackage -Path "C:\Users\WindowsReport\Downloads\ee2546d7-f0e5-4aa2-be54-032299162322" (change path to the download directory you used earlier)
If you get errors you may need to download additional files from the same place you got the appxbundle file

Unable to start debugging on the web server. The debugger cannot connect to the remote computer in MVC

I've just started to work on a MVC project. It's a web portal. I've set my sites on my local IIS 6.0
But when I want to start debugging, I get this error:
Unable to start debugging on the web server. The debugger cannot
connect to the remote computer. The debugger was unable to resolve the
specified computer name.
I don't understand that when I want to debug my project locally, what "Remote computer" it's talking about??!!
Please help me guys, this is my first task in this company and I have to overcome this error.
Check all the steps outlined here: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dwesw3ee.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396
If you're using a hosts file, make sure you have an entry for the site in question. That was the problem for me, when I encountered this message.
I have similar problem.
My first solution delete url site from iis repositories and project properties write localhost and port number if is it. And debug began working without restart. I also think, may be if add new url in windows host file this can fix this trouble but may be need restat iis or visual studio.

Intraweb - web application - users sessions

Today I started to write my first web application and I can't pass one step.
Everything works almost fine... I can connect to the server and open website. Problem is when I open browser and type the same address on the second pc, then I get te same data as on the first one.
Detailed...
Application has two forms, first is for login, and second one is for receiving data.
When I login on the first pc and second form shows up, and then I open browser and put the address of the server on the second pc, I see the second form after login from first pc.
What I should do in this case? I tried to find the solution in the net, but I couldn't :(
If you are using any Delphi IDE after XE3 (including) and using the IntraWeb edition that comes with Delphi you must upgrade in order to have it working correctly. It is free, and more information can be obtained here:
http://atozed.com/IntraWeb/Download/FreeKeyRequest.EN.aspx|
After upgrading (if this is your case) I suggest you to take a look at one of the IntraWeb demos, here:
https://iwdemos.codeplex.com/SourceControl/latest
There is a demo named Features that shows you exactly how to create a multi form application. To be honest, I work with IntraWeb for a long time and I've never seen that. Unless you are using some global var to hold your "current" active form. Have in mind that IntraWeb is a fully multithreaded application and global vars should not be used, unless you have some mechanism protecting concurrent access (but you should get rid of them and use ServerController properties instead).
Thnks for your quick reply.
I work with Delphi from some time, but I never used Intraweb, I worked with ComPort and IP works for I/O devices. I have XE7 and I upgraded Intraweb to 14.0.52.
I can't find a good file exchange server to put my application for sharing with you. If I find somethin I will post it below.
You can check the code and other settings of my simply project. I put the web application inside the link below, it is without the .exe file.

Thanks for your help.

ZF2 Fatal error: Class 'Locale' not found in /home/...../Zend/I18n/Translator/Translator.php on line 228

I have a project in my localhost, already running, after modifying the php.ini of my XAMPP server [running on Windows 7] (adding: extension=php-intl.dll).
But when i upload this project to my GoDaddy hosting, it doesn´t works and get the following error:
Fatal error: Class 'Locale' not found in /home/content/41/9674641/html/library/zend.2.0.4/Zend/I18n/Translator/Translator.php on line 228
GoDaddy hosting details:
Php version 5.3
Operating system: Linux
i386-redhat-linux-gnu
Zend Framework details:
Zend Library: 2.0.4
I´ve tried what they say on the following links:
http://support.godaddy.com/help/article/1085/can-i-add-a-php-initialization-file-to-my-hosting-account?locale=en
http://support.godaddy.com/help/article/5647/why-isnt-my-phpini-file-taking-effect?locale=en&ci=46061
Also, i´ve called to 24/7 goDaddy support and they suggested me to create a php5.ini file in the root directory, then, they told me to stop all web services (Cpanel/Stats & Monitors/System Processes/end web), but they didn´t told me what do i need to include in the php5.ini file.
I was reading some links and, as my localhost is a windows one, adding the extension=php-intl.dll to the php.ini file worked. So i´ve tried to include in my godaddy linux server: extension=php-intl.so but doesn´t works (neither extension=php-intl.dll).
The problem with the goDaddy hosting began when i started using ZF2 FORMs.
Updates:
1) I´ve got access to the php5.ini of the goDaddy server (i have made a copy on the root of my hosting) using PUTTY: cp /web/conf/php5.ini /var/chroot/home/content/41/9674641/html
Then i have read it and i could not find the "intl" extension, instead of this, i only could find:
; Windows Extensions
; Note that ODBC support is built in, so no dll is needed for it.
; Note that many DLL files are located in the extensions/ (PHP 4) ext/ (PHP 5)
; extension folders as well as the separate PECL DLL download (PHP 5).
; Be sure to appropriately set the extension_dir directive.
;extension=php_mbstring.dll
;extension=php_bz2.dll
;extension=php_curl.dll
;extension=php_dba.dll
;extension=php_dbase.dll
;extension=php_exif.dll
;extension=php_fdf.dll
;extension=php_filepro.dll
;extension=php_gd2.dll
;extension=php_gettext.dll
;extension=php_ifx.dll
;extension=php_imap.dll
;extension=php_interbase.dll
;extension=php_ldap.dll
;extension=php_mcrypt.dll
;extension=php_mhash.dll
;extension=php_mime_magic.dll
;extension=php_ming.dll
;extension=php_mssql.dll
;extension=php_msql.dll
;extension=php_mysql.dll
;extension=php_oci8.dll
;extension=php_openssl.dll
;extension=php_oracle.dll
;extension=php_pgsql.dll
;extension=php_shmop.dll
;extension=php_snmp.dll
;extension=php_sockets.dll
;extension=php_sqlite.dll
;extension=php_sybase_ct.dll
;extension=php_tidy.dll
;extension=php_xmlrpc.dll
;extension=php_xsl.dll
2) goDaddy response to my formal support request (ticket):
Thank you for contacting Online Support
I understand you are wanting to get Internationalization extension on
to your hosting account. At this time these are not supported in our
systems at this time. We are going to review this with our developers
to more information. You may receive an email us down the road with
addition information about this.
Please let us know if we can assist you in any other way.
Now i'm thinking that i have two problems:
A) Include the line to enable the extension (i don't know how):
Maybe could be:
extension_dir=/var/chroot/home/content/41/9674641/html/library/extensions/php-intl/usr/lib64/php/modules
extension="intl.so"
B) Include the extension in some location inside my hosting (but i don´t know how):
Maybe i could put the extension files inside: /var/chroot/home/content/41/9674641/html/library/extensions/php-intl
Also, i don't know where to acquire the extension files
C) Is there any known update on ZF2 (skeleton, library ..) that solve this issue ?
Please, i need help as soon as possible.
You can manage PHP modules by using the "Change PHP version" feature of the cPanel interface. Select any version other than "native" and a list of checkboxes will appear.
http://support.godaddy.com/help/article/3937/viewing-or-changing-your-php-language-version?pc_split_value=2
Of course, their support might not immediately mention this solution, which should have been in their knowledge base in the first place.

How to fix lost connection to Access Database after Deploying ASP website to IIS?

I am fairly new to ASP, so if anything doesn't make sense, or you think, "WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?", it's becasue I really didn't know.
So the issue is that I created a Website using Visual Studio 2012 Express for Web. It was an ASP.NET MVC. I have spent over a week, working on this, doing testing and getting everything to work and look correctly. So I started the process of deploying it. I followed a couple guides, and felt like I did everything correctly.
Right now I am only trying to test my website on , and my first screen shows up. This screen is a "login" screen of sorts and is supposed to connect to my Access Database to check to see if a user should be admited to the next screen. But clicking the "Submit" button doesn't even open the Database. All of this works fine when I run it in Visual Studio.
What can I do to get this working?
Some steps I have tried and failed at:
-Redeploying
-Changing location of the Access DB
-I started to try to install configure and convert my Access Database to SQL Server, but I haven't been able to get that to work either.
If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. If you need code examples or IIS settings, I will get them to you as fast as I can, but please help me because I don't want to have lost over a week of work.
Thanks,
D
Edit: After taking the suggestion from HansUp, it lead me to some other search terms that lead me to http://www.iis.net/learn/application-frameworks/running-classic-asp-applications-on-iis-7-and-iis-8/using-classic-asp-with-microsoft-access-databases-on-iis. I am using a 64-bit machine, and my application pool in IIS was not set to run 32-bit applicaions which when using Access ODBC drivers that are 32-bit casue a problem.
Set the IUSR account to Read/Write for the DB file and folder where the DB file is located.
Then, seeing as I was using a 64-bit machine, and the Access ODBC drivers that were being used were 32-bit, I had to set "Enable 32-bit Applications" to "true" in IIS, for the Application Pool that my site was using.
This is a link to where I found the 64-bit 32-bit solut
