In Eclipse, I'm using the already packed ij.jar instead of the source code. I added the ij.jar file as an external jar in Eclipse. Every plugin shipped in the original ij.jar works fine after I imported from ij.
Currently, I'm trying to use functions in the third-party plugin StackReg. Does anyone know how I can import the classes inside StackReg? I've tried to add StackReg_.jar as an external jar. However, this does not work.
From quickly looking at the source of StackReg plugin, I see that the classes are in the default package. In java, importing classes from default package to a named package is not possible without using reflection.
Possible solutions are:
Put your classes in the default package. Then you can use the classes in the default package without importing them. Note that using default package is bad practice in java.

Alter the StackReg plugin to not use the default package. But this might not be compatible with its license and your solution will not be compatible with the original jar.

I have a grails application with multiple internally developed plugins. Since upgrading from 4.x to 5.2.3, codecs are not found in one plugin, but are found in others. Specifically, I can place the same file (UsernameListCodec.groovy, package name changed from one plugin to the next but otherwise no changes) in grails-app/utils in one plugin and it works; when placed in grails-app/utils in another plugin it fails with MissingMethodException.
What could cause this? The plugins are fairly different in terms of what they provide, but very similar in terms of how they're built, published, etc. Clearly this is something I'm doing wrong (since the codec works in another plugin) but I don't even know where to begin looking. Does a plugin need to do something in particular to be able to provide custom codecs as of grails 5?
I'm getting started with FunScript with a working example. Using Nuget to add the needed libraries, it works well.
In watching a 2013 video on channel9, they are making use of TypeScript.Api<...> to load types from typescript definition files.
I'm however unable to find this type provider anywhere.
Where is it located?
I realized that a good number of the type definitions have been compiled into libraries and available on nuget but I can't really use this since some of the code will be local typescript definition files.
The questions therefore are
Where is the TypeScript.Api<...> type provider?
If it is not available or the best way to use typescript definition, what other options exists.
As Thomas said, the type provider was removed mainly because it couldn't generate generic types, but the idea is to bring it back at some point.
For the moment, though not ideal, you can generate your own bindings following these steps.

Build the project
cd FunScript
build.cmd
This needs to be improved but for now you need to zip the .d.ts files you want to convert and then:
cd build\TypeScript
bin\FunScript.TypeScript.exe C:\Path\to\typedefinitions.zip
cd Output
Please note the first time you build the definitions it may take several minutes. Once it's done in the output folder you'll find the compiled .dll libraries with the bindings.
Also, while you're at it. It's better if you use the FunScript version you just build into build\main\bin, as it will probably be more updated than the nuget package.

There were a bunch of changes in FunScript, so the TypeScript.Api<...> type provider is no longer the recommended way of calling JavaScript libraries from FunScript.
Instead, the bindings for JavaScript libraries are pre-generated and you can find them as packages on NuGet, if you search for the FunScript tag (NuGet search is not very good, so you may need to go through a number of pages to find the one you need...).
If you want to use a local TypeScript definition, then you'll need to run the command line tool to generate the bindings. The F# Atom plugin does this in the build script, so looking there is a good place to start. It has a local copy of various TypeScript bindings in the typings folder (together with the FunScript binaries needed to process them).
I liked the type provider approach much better, but sadly, type providers are somewhat restricted in what kind of types they can provide, so it wasn't all that powerful...
When using a third-party JavaScript library in my Dart project, I manually go through the library's documentation and iterate through its properties and methods to build the Dart code through a series of tedious context and callMethod calls. Has anyone figured out a way to automate this?
I tried to first find a command-line interface that introspects the JavaScript library so that I can auto-generate the Dart source code. I've been unsuccessful in my search.
I've tried to make my implementation of .d.ts -> dart2js annotations converter.

Introspecting JS lib can be really hard due to the dynamic face of the JS language.
In the Typescript world there are *.d.ts files used to provide types to existing libraries. As far as I can tell most of those files are manually writen.
For now such a tool isn't yet available.
I`m using Apache Tika 1.4 to extract content from my documents. But it also comes with org.bouncycastle.* classes, and I use another version of bouncycastle which is conflicting with the Tika packages.
If the Tika was using the bouncycastle (bcprov) jar, I could exclude that using exclusion tag from Maven, but the TikaApp has copied the org.bouncycastle classes into it, so, I cannot exclude them.
There`s some way to remove this package without recompiling or branching Apache Tika and set to use another JAR to this specified package or something like that?

Your problem is that you're using completely the wrong packaging of Tika!
The tika-app jar is a standalone, runnable jar, containing all of the Tika code + all dependencies required to let it run. It's intended to be used from the command line, standalone, to allow non-Java users to call Tika, and to allow for easy testing.
If you're writing your own Java application, which it sounds like you are, you will want to depend on the tika-core artifact as a minimum. That contains all the interfaces, the mime detection, service loaders etc. You'll then almost certainly also want to depend on tika-parsers , which provides all the code to do the actual parsing of the file formats, along with pulling in their required dependencies. This gives you the full control you seem to want.
Finally, there's also an OSGi bundle available, for those who prefer the control and classloading that OSGi offers, that's in the tika-bundle artifact. There's also a CXF powered JAX-RS version, which offers Tika's services over a RESTful interface, that comes in the tika-server artifact.
We have a client/server application which includes a Windows Service and a Winform client tool. I've managed to create a Wix project in Visual Studio (2010, using the wix 3.5 toolset). I'm using the "harvest" feature on the references instead of specifying every file, because there are many library projects involved.
Problems I'm trying to figure out:
How to include referenced DLLs? Some are in the GAC, some are in a relative path within the workspace. I assume I could list each file explicitly but it seems like there should be a way for Wix to autodetect them.
How to install the service while "harvest" is enabled. All the examples I've seen require adding an explicit element with KeyPath=true. However this doesn't work with the harvest=true setting.
I realize that the harvest functionality might be a convenience which is not feasible when there are more complex things going on. Should I give up on harvesting and just try to specify each file explicitly?
Most of the examples I've seen on Wix have been just snippets of xml files. Is there anywhere I can find complete real-world examples of installing services other non-trivial setup features?
