I am creating a highchart where I would like the scrollbar to be enabled. My scroll bar is not working, any ideas what I might be missing here?
$('#add_trans').highcharts('StockChart', {
chart: {
borderColor: '#801500',
borderRadius: 20,
borderWidth: 1,
type: 'line',
events: {
load: function(chart) {
this.setTitle(null, {
});
}
},
zoomType: 'x'
},
exporting: {
enabled: true
},
legend: {
enabled: true
},
rangeSelector: {
buttons: [{
type: 'minute',
count: 60,
text: 'hourly'
}, {
type: 'all',
text: 'All'
}],
// selected: 1
},
scrollbar: {
enabled: true
},
navigator : {
enabled : true
},
xAxis: {
labels: {
enabled: true
}
},
yAxis : {
title : {
text : 'Response Time'
},
tickInterval: 100
},
});
Some mistakes possible for error:
There is no series:{} in your highcharts code, so no data for your chart is in the code.
extra commas causes the issues so remove the:
code:
yAxis : {
title : {
text : 'Response Time'
},
tickInterval: 100
},//comma from here if there is no section after it
and:
rangeSelector: {
buttons: [{
type: 'minute',
count: 60,
text: 'hourly'
}, {
type: 'all',
text: 'All'
}], //from here if next statement is commented
// selected: 1
},
If your code still doesn't work, you could try changing this :
<script type="text/javascript" src="js/highcharts.js"></script>
with this :
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.highcharts.com/js/highstock.js"></script>

I have a stacked column/scatter chart with some dataLabels off to one side. The issue I am facing is that when my two markers begin to get close to one another, their dataLabels overlap
I need to always show both labels, so is there a way to detect when labels are overlapping and move the bottom one down by adjusting its y value based on how much overlap there is?
sample fiddle of the issue
Highcharts.chart('container', {
chart: {
type: 'column',
width: 500
},
title: {
text: 'Stacked column chart'
},
xAxis: {
visible: false,
},
yAxis: {
min: 0,
visible: false,
title: {
},
},
legend: {
layout:"vertical",
align: "right",
verticalAlign: "bottom",
itemMarginTop: 15,
y: -10,
x: -50
},
tooltip: {
enabled: false,
},
plotOptions: {
scatter: {
marker: {
symbol: "triangle",
},
dataLabels: {
enabled: true,
x: -80,
y: 50,
allowOverlap: true,
useHTML: true,
}
},
column: {
pointWidth: 70,
stacking: 'normal',
dataLabels: {
enabled: false
}
}
},
series: [{
name: '',
data: [100],
color: "#ededed"
}, {
name: '',
data: [500]
}, {
name: '',
data: [400]
},
{
type: "scatter",
data: [1000],
color: "#000",
dataLabels: {
formatter: function(){
return "<div class='label-text'>Your goal of <br/>$"+ this.y +"<br/>text</div>"
},
}
},
{
type: "scatter",
data: [900],
color: "#000",
dataLabels: {
formatter: function(){
return "<div class='label-text'>You are here <br/>$"+ this.y +"<br/>text</div>"
},
}
}]
});
You can correct data-labels positions by using the attr method on their SVG elements.
For example:
chart: {
events: {
render: function() {
const series = this.series;
const dl1 = series[3].points[0].dataLabel;
const dl2 = series[4].points[0].dataLabel;
if (dl1.y + dl1.height > dl2.y) {
dl2.attr({
y: dl1.y + dl1.height
});
}
}
}
}

I have a highchart, as showed on the appended image.
I am attempting to format the legend of only my last data stacked. In this case, index 1 always.
Any help on how to achieve this?
My main goal, being, on there always showing a value i have in a variable, which will be the max value possible.
createChart: function (id, chartData, maxYValues, chartTitle, chartNames, dataToMax) {
var me = this;
debugger;
me.highChart = new Highcharts.Chart({
chart: {
type: 'column',
renderTo: id
},
title: {
text: chartTitle,
fontSize: '8px'
},
xAxis: {
labels: {
overflow: 'justify'
},
categories: chartNames
},
yAxis: {
gridLineWidth: 0,
minorGridLineWidth: 0,
labels: {
enabled: false
},
stackLabels: {
enabled: true,
format: maxYValues
},
title: {
enabled: false
}
},
colors: ['#afafaf', '#f89c1c', '#3aaa80'],
credits: {
enabled: false
},
tooltip: {
pointFormat: '<span>{point.name}</span>'
},
plotOptions: {
series: {
colors: ['#3aab80', '#3aab80'],
colorByPoint: true,
borderWidth: 0,
dataLabels: {
enabled: true,
headerFormat: '{point.y + point.name}',
format: '{y} mb',
verticalAlign: 'top',
y: -20
}
},
column: {
stacking: "percent"
},
area: {
dataLabels: {
enabled: false
}
}
},
legend: {
labelFormat: '<b>{point.y} MB</b><br/>',
labelFormatter: function () {
if (me.series.data.index === 1) {
return maxYValues;
}
}
},
series: [{
showInLegend: false,
data: chartData,
color: '#3aab80'
}, {
showInLegend: false,
data: dataToMax,
legend: {
labelFormat: maxYValues + 'MB</b><br/>'
}
}],
navigation: {
menuItemStyle: {
fontSize: '8px'
}
}
});
},
Thank you
UPDATE: Added code snipped, and updated the image to what my current code is showing
Is there a way to keep the stackLabels on a highcharts stacked column chart, but hide the yAxis?
I have borrowed this fiddle from the HC Author to show the issue. You can toggle the yAxis visibility and this also toggles the stackLabels.
My HighCharts code is:
$(function() {
// Configure the chart
$('#container').highcharts({
chart: {
type: 'column'
},
title: {
text: 'Highcharts axis visibility'
},
xAxis: {
categories: ['Apples', 'Pears', 'Oranges', 'Peaches']
},
yAxis: {
allowDecimals: false,
title: {
text: 'Fruit'
},
stackLabels: {
enabled: true
},
visible: false
},
plotOptions: {
series: {
stacking: 'normal',
dataLabels: {
enabled: true
}
}
},
series: [{
data: [1, 3, 2, 4],
name: 'Ola'
}, {
data: [5, 4, 5, 2],
name: 'Kari'
}]
});
var yVis = false,
xVis = true;
$('#toggle-y').click(function() {
yVis = !yVis;
$('#container').highcharts().yAxis[0].update({
visible: yVis
});
});
$('#toggle-x').click(function() {
xVis = !xVis;
$('#container').highcharts().xAxis[0].update({
visible: xVis
});
});
});
Can stackLabels be visible with a hidden yAxis?
You can manipulate on elements in yAxis, instead of set the visibility.
$('#toggle-y').click(function() {
yVis = !yVis;
$('#container').highcharts().yAxis[0].update({
labels: {
enabled: yVis
},
gridLineWidth: yVis ? 1 : 0,
title:{
enabled: yVis
}
});
});

I am having some difficulty getting pointRange to work for a HighStock combination chart I've written.
You can see the issue here, the bars should be 28 days wide but they are not. I can get this code to work on a non-HighStock chart but something is preventing it from working in HighStock and I've been unable to figure it out.
http://jsfiddle.net/3fnfy434/
var chart = new Highcharts.StockChart({
chart: {
renderTo: 'container',
height: 450
},
credits: {
enabled: false
},
rangeSelector : {
inputEnabled: false,
selected : 2,
buttons: [{
type: 'month',
count: 3,
text: '3m'
}, {
type: 'year',
count: 1,
text: '1y'
}, {
type: 'all',
text: 'All'
}],
labelStyle: {
color: '#40C6CE',
fontWeight: 'bold'
}
},
title : {
text : 'test'
},
xAxis: {
type: 'datetime'
},
yAxis: [{
allowDecimals: false,
labels: {
formatter: function() {
return this.value;
},
style: {
color: '#25408F'
}
},
title: {
text: 't',
style: {
color: '#25408F'
}
}
}],
navigator: {
baseSeries: 1
},
series : [{
name: 's1',
data: d1,
type: 'column',
visible: true,
pointRange: 28 * 24 * 3600 * 1000,
tooltip: {
valueDecimals: 0,
valueSuffix: ''
}
},
{
name : 's2',
data : d2,
color: '#25408F',
dataGrouping: {
enabled: false
},
pointRange: 24 * 3600 * 1000,
tooltip: {
valueDecimals: 1,
valueSuffix: ''
}
}]
});
Any help greatly appreciated.
Please see below code for chart.
It is not displaying colors properly as defined in the js.
When I run this js in jsfiddle, it does show me correct colors.
jQuery(document).ready(function () {
var my_chart = {
chart: {
renderTo: 'divTotalOpenPositionsGraph',
type: 'column',
marginLeft: 13, marginBottom: 30,marginTop:5,
fontFamily: 'Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif',
},
credits: {
enabled: false
},
title: {
text: 'Open Position'
}
},
legend: {
enabled: false
},
plotOptions: {
series: {
colorByPoint: true,
borderWidth: 0,
animation: {
duration: 5000
},
dataLabels:{
enabled:true,
formatter:function(){
if(this.y > 0)
return this.y;
}
}
}
},
series: [{
name: 'Positions',
data: [6,9]
}],
colors: [
'#f89422',
'#8cc641'
],
xAxis: {
categories: ['Internship','Employment'],
labels: {
enabled: true
}
},
yAxis: {
title: {
text: null
},
labels: {
enabled: false
}
},
};
new Highcharts.Chart(my_chart);
});
Can anyone please correct me on this? I need orange color in first column and green in second column.
Thank you in advanced.
I came across some syntax errors, but as a result I reproduced your example here:
http://jsfiddle.net/WVgDM/
Colors are as you described.
