In my Grails app I have various images:
/web-app/images/competition/foo bar.png
/web-app/images/competition/foo bar2.png
/web-app/images/competition/foo bar3.png
The name of the image to be displayed is stored in the model that's passed to the GSP. I'm trying to create a link to this using the <r:img> tag provided by the resources plugin. So far I've tried:
<r:img file="competition/${imageName}.png"/>
<r:img file="competition/${imageName.encodeAsHTML()}.png"/>
<r:img file="competition/${imageName.encodeAsURL()}.png"/>
But none of these seem to work. I realise renaming the file would make my life a lot simpler, but sadly this is not possible.
Add the below entry in ApplicationResources.groovy as.
modules = {
images {
resource url:'images/competition/foo%20bar.png'
}
}
and access it in view as
<r:img uri="/images/competition/foo bar.png"/>
or
<r:img file="competition/foo bar.png"/>
You should be able to access the resource.
Note:-
Accessing the resource as
<r:img file="competition/foo%20bar.png"/>
did not work for me. Apparently, I made sure I am not reading from browser cache so I followed the below steps:
Tested in Chrome Incognito Mode.
Cleared browser cache every time.
Tested in Firefox and IE.
Cleaned and compiled the project to replicate the issue every time, in case browser was served from the cache.

When I open the Umbraco (7.6.3) backoffice, I'm unable to view or make changes to templates. It seems like other functionality is unaffected, and I can create & edit specific pages. However, attempting to open the templates themselves just leads to a white screen. This problem exists across browsers:
Other screens render just fine:
What gives?
Checking the console when attempting to load gives an interesting error:
Error: Argument 'Umbraco.Editors.Templates.EditController' is not a function, got undefined...
Resolution:
The issue seemed to be caused by outdated files in the Umbraco folder. Copying most directories over from packages\UmbracoCms.7.6.3\UmbracoFiles\umbraco\ seems to have done the trick.
Looking at the changelog, it seems like the JS folder was the most influential in getting this fixed.
Are you sure that you're on 7.6.3? The UI appears to be pre-7.6 (I can tell because the colours haven't been updated).
If you have just upgraded, it's possible that your browser has cached the JS which is used - hard refresh your browser to see if the UI updates.
Umbraco also uses a dependency service to compile all of the used JS/CSS files together into one large one. This service will not be used if your website is in debug mode. Either:
Turn debug mode on in the Web.config
Delete any files in the \App_Data\ClientDependency\ folder as this is where the cached compiled files are kept (these will be regenerated)
My first thought would be file permissions.
Have you run the health check for permissions in the developer section? Need to make sure that your application pool user has write permissions on the Views folder.
Hi contao developer out there,
Anybody knows why the styling of the whole admin backend's missing.
I attach a screenshot, let me know if anyone knows something.
enter image description here
Looks like you have installled your Contao into a sub directory and setup your base url incorrect.
Have a look into system/config/pathconfig.php and verify the path is the same as in your browser (i.e. return ''; for an installation in the root dir and return '/some-dir'; for an installation in an subdir).
You should also check with web-developer tools as to which URLs for the Backend CSS it tries to load. Usually this already points out what in the base url is wrong.
Last thing, you might have set up some "strange" rewrite rules in your .htaccess file which may cause these problems.
Problem solved.
The fact that, the problem comes from the server configuration.
The Php process wasn't have enough permission, so it takes me some time to realise and knowing that I need to change the apache modul version to cgi/fpm mode.
This grants the php to recreate and generate the assets including js/css in asset folder. (at least from my own observation) and it works now.
Using MVC 4 I downloaded Blackcity Backload from nuget, I am trying to save the uploaded images to a file that is within my project. Everything works great and it shows that the image uploaded, except for the fact that after you upload a new image, and refresh the page the image does not appear in the list of returned images even though it was saved. Also if you delete a file it comes off the list at first but again if you refresh the page it is back. If you rebuild the application then everything appears as it should and the images in the backload file list are all listed correctly and they match what is in the actual file.
I thought it may be a server cache issue but I did all i can to prevent the server from caching and still same problem.
I think it may have to do with the fact that Backloader is dynamically creating folders to put the images in and they are not included in the project even though they are in the file structure. So since they are not part of the project they are not being returned in the get request. Its not until you rebuild that they are recognized as part of the project.
Is there a way to dynamically include new files in the project without rebuilding?
Please help. This is killing me.
Ok this is solved. Had to remove filters.Add(new AuthorizeAttribute()) from my global filters and then add [Authorize] to each controller and it worked.
I'm trying to setup a iPad app to work offline. I was able to successfully get it to work but I was told to put the app in multiple sub directories. When I did this and update the cache manifest file to the new destinations of all the files I kept getting an error that the site wouldn't work because it wasn't connected to the internet. I tried multiple paths and looked up different ideas but have come up empty handed. Is their a way to get offline mode working with a site inside sub directories?
Thanks.
This shouldn't make a difference. Make sure all urls in the manifest are relative and always end the manifest with:
NETWORK:
*
Furthermore make sure you don't forget to add any images, libraries etc. from the cached url's to the manifest. Sometimes even caps can make a difference. OPen the console of the developer tools in Chrome to see what's being cached and what breaks loading the appcache.
Also make sure there are no iframes (ie. like-buttons) on the homepage(page that includes the manifest attribute in the html-tag) which is always cached.
Little trick:
If you want to fallback you're homepage place the manifest attribute in an invisible iframe on the homepage of your app.
That way you have total control over what's cached and what not.
I am using appfile:/. The path is correct; if I put it on screen and copy-paste it in the explorer it links to the image.
Is there anything else I need to do?
UPDATED I have updated the library, now is more easy to use. Can you test it?
I am the author of the StageWebViewBridge class. There is a known problem if you are using Android. Anyway, I have a working solution I will update the next week.
If the problem is not in Android, then send me some code.
I am also confused on how to access locally packaged assets. I put them in the HTML folder as requested and when I send a signal to the StageWebViewBridge to set the .src attribute of a video I'm not sure how to do it.
Without StageWebViewBridge and entirely in a website I can just reference the file for a video object via JavaScript directly e.g. swvRef.src = 'file.mp4';. This works perfectly fine. When I try to tell flash to send a call via StageWebViewBridge it does receive the call to the StageWebView (I have JavaScript reporting it). However when I try to set the .src of a video object I can't figure out the correct path.
The documentation says to put all things in a 'html' folder. I did so. No reference to a .src of 'html/a.mp4' or 'a.mp4' or 'htmlCache/a.mp4' ever makes the new javascript html5 video class work.
Bridge otherwise is working perfectly sending AS->JS and JS->AS. I'm just looking for info on how to reference packaged files. I want to play a video I put in the /html folder and so far, I just can't do it.
Got the same issue and fixed it with "appfile:/"
Why do you require "appfile:/ for a local html file ?
If the treated html/js/css is local and asset is relative (aka ../ or no http://) you should treat them as "appfile:/" ?
If the treated file is distant you do not have to handle assets ?
Is there a best practice to work with "appfile:/" ?
Actually I debug my html/js/css game in the browser but if I use appfile:/ it will no longer works. I will have to handle 2 behaviors.
