I am confused about the Facebook SDK for iOS. iOS includes the Facebook SDK, correct? But on the Facebook Developer site, it still is telling me to download the Facebook SDK and add it to my project... is this necessary? I am able to post from my app to Facebook without doing this.
The Social Framework allows your app to login to facebook and post, but only if the user has connected their Facebook account with iOS6 (which not everyone does). The Facebook SDK allows your app to connect to facebook in other ways (including through the Facebook app itself, or through a web view).

I have an app in the Appstore for a few months now. To use App Install optimized Facebook ads, I decided to integrate The Facebook SDK. But apart from running Ad Campaigns on Facebook, I am not using any of the functionalities offered by the Facebook SDK. i.e. I am not using Facebook login and the services used with Facebook Login.
I noticed that the Facebook app is in Sandbox Mode and I need to set it to Public to use Facebook App Install advertising. I can set it to public right away, which is good.
But there is also a Facebook review submission button on the same page and there is a not-so-clear statement on the page saying Facebook needs to review "some" of the integrations before going live.
If I am using the SDK just for Facebook Ads with my "iOS App", do I still need to have my app reviewed by Facebook?
Cheers,
Taner
If you are not requesting to use any of the permissions, you do not need to have your app reviewed.
The only thing you need to do the enable it to be used for advertising is to set it to be Public. This will not really do anything in your case.
I'm trying to test my linkedIn "log in" for my IOS app (using Swift)
I can't test this in the simulator because LinkedIn forces the user to open the LinkedIn app in order to sign up and LinkedIn isn't pre-installed in the simulator.
So, I figured, I would just test my app on my iPad instead. However, in order to do this, Bitcode has to be disabled because the linkedIn SDK does not support this yet.
So, now I'm stuck how I can test LinkedIn Login. Any suggestion?
I am following this tutorial on Facebook to integrate with the Facebook SDK in iOS:
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/ios/getting-started
It asks me for the IPHONE STORE ID, but my app is not developed yet, so I do not have this ID.
Well, I have this ID, but the app is not yet published and isn't publicly accessible.
Is it possible to integrate with the Facebook SDK without a published app?
Yes, you can use the SDK without publishing the APP.
This information is added when you are creating a page for your application or if you are submitting to facebook with more permissions than the default permissions. But even if you want submit is possible to send only the .ipa file without the iPhone Store ID.
For developers or testing, you can add the "0" IPHONE STORE ID.
That's all.
I have a Facebook app that is configured as Facebook canvas app and a website with site and mobile site URLs
When the app sends apprequests (invitations) they only show up in the recipient's notifications in the desktop browser and not in the Facebook iOS app. This makes no sense to me as the app does support play on mobile as it has a mobile web url and so the notifications should appear in the Facebook iOS app.
How can I ensure my app requests show up in the Facebook iOS app? Am I missing some kind of configuration?
I had the same issue, but after adding a "Store ID" in the FB iOS Platform setting, notifications started showing in the FB app. Since my app is not yet in the store, I addded the ID of one of my other apps. Still worked.
I've developed an iOS app that shares a photo on Facebook; I've created an app on Facebook developer portal and before the iOS app has been released sharing works fine. But after app store release when I (and all users) try to login to Facebook before sharing the Facebook app opens and goes back to my app, but login hasn't been set. How can I make it work?
