Check_cxx() not working with cuda - waf

I am new to the waf framework of compiling and building a project. Basically I am trying to load the compiler and the library for compiling the .cu files. and I have the following line of code taken from cuda.py file written by Thomas Nagy
self.check_cxx(header='cuda.h', lib='cudart', libpath=_libpath, includes=_includes)
my _libpath is correctly pointing to '/usr/local/cuda/lib' which contains the libcudart.dylib.
but it says it cannot find cudart library.
libcudart.dylib is a symbolic link to the /Developer/Nvidia/cuda5.0/lib/libcudart.dylib
Can anyone tell what possibly is going wrong here ?

Got it working the problem was with the loading of the cxx compiler. The loading of the compiler compiler_cxx was failing because I had written load('cxx') instead of load('compiler_cxx'). After correcting this error the check_cxx was able to load the cuda and cudart libraries. Not sure why it didnt complain about the failure of cxx loading..

Cannot compile OpenCV for iOS with nonfree module

I'm attempting to compile the OpenCV framework for iOS using the nonfree module. Right now, I'm not able to compile the OpenCV framework, period. I would use the stock iOS opencv2.framework download from the website, except it doesn't include the nonfree module that I need for my project. I've been following the instructions as prescribed here:
http://answers.opencv.org/question/61663/how-to-make-opencv2framework-with-opencv_contrib/
as these appear they might be out of date
http://docs.opencv.org/2.4/doc/tutorials/introduction/ios_install/ios_install.html
https://github.com/Itseez/opencv/issues/4712
However, when I run the command from a folder outside the building directories "python opencv-master/platforms/ios/build_framework.py --contrib opencv_contrib-master ios_contrib" it spits out the following error:
http://pastebin.com/LUep8Tdw
The error doesn't mean much to me. I thought at first it was related to me building it inside the same directory as opencv, but I tried it outside of it and it still failed. Any thoughts? I've tried everything I can possibly think of, and done a bunch of research without coming up with anything.
It appears there's some issue with one of the modules in opencv_contrib. I'm not sure what it is, but I was using version 3.0.0-rc-1. The way I got around it was by moving specific modules from the module folder in the contrib folder into the regular opencv directory's modules folder and then compiling the framework from scratch.

Linking Header File with Main.Cpp file in Codeblocks

I am trying to use codeblocks to compile the code available here
The thing is every time I try to build and run, I run into the following error:
|/.../head_pose_estimation/opencv2/core/core.hpp|48|fatal error: opencv2/core.hpp: No such file or directory
Does anyone know how I can fix this? Thank you!
You do not have the pre-built (compiled) version of OpenCV, what you currently have are the source files. If you want to do something special with OpenCV (Target/GPU SUpport etc) then you will need to build the framework using an appropriate guide.
If however you simply want to use OpenCV in the most common way then download the pre-built libraries from the OpenCV.org website.
NOTE:
If you are using OpenCV with MinGW compiler, I do not remember if the pre-built is actually pre-built for MinGW. (I dont think they do) In this case you will HAVE to built the libraries. You can find a guide here

cannot setup Opencv 2.4.6 , opencv_core231d.lib Not Found Error

Hello everyone;
i had opencv 2.2 on my vs2010, and i wanted to update so i went to opencv site and:
i've downloaded OpenCV for Windows (ver 2.4.6)
i've extracted it to c:\opencv2.4
i've set the Environment Variable as doc said here: http://docs.opencv.org/doc/tutorials/introduction/windows_install/windows_install.html#windowssetpathandenviromentvariable
( i didnt know what is "PATH EDITOR" so i've just changed Environment variables)
i made property sprite sheets as opencv doc said here: http://docs.opencv.org/doc/tutorials/introduction/windows_visual_studio_Opencv/windows_visual_studio_Opencv.html#windows-visual-studio-how-to
5.but Doc Was Old, and there was no "include" folder in OpenCV2.4/opencv/build/x64/vc10 so I did set include Directory to OpenCV2.4/opencv/build/include in My property sprite sheet.
everything seems true and VS detect include libraries But
VS2010 throw following error when i want to Build the solution:
1>LINK : fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file 'opencv_core231d.lib'
Strange thing is there is no "opencv_core231d.lib" File in c:\opencv2.4 at all!!!
:(
what is the problem?
This is a Linker error, so make sure you are trying to link the correct libraries.
I would suggest to use CMake, which definitely simplifies configuring projects, specially those having dependencies like OpenCV (you can take a look to the OpenCV documentation, or any blog explaining the steps: http://marcosnietoblog.wordpress.com/2011/11/19/opencv-for-windows-easy-installation-using-cmake/ )
By the way, I use to have several versions of opencv on the same folder:
C:\OpenCV\opencv2.4.3
C:\OpenCV\opencv2.4.6
...
So I can easily switch within CMake setting the OpenCV_DIR.
opencv_core231d.lib is a debug version, all the *d.lib and *d.dll files in openCV are with debug symbols.
It is likely that the pre-built release you downloaded doesn't contain debug ones.
either download te source and build both debug and release. Or, if you don't care how opencv works internally, just change the linker flags to use the same lib names with the d
edit. or of course if you donwloaded opencv 2.4.6 the file would be opencv_core246d.lib

Linker error LNK2019 (unresolved symbol) with OpenCV 2.4, CvBlob library, and Visual Studio 2012 RC

I've spent the last hour or two trying to hunt this problem down and can't seem to get it right. I am using OpenCV with MS VS 2012 RC, and to this point it has worked quite well (one bug dealing with the newer Mat container, but fine otherwise). I have a previously written application I am trying to port (from GCC/G++), which used the cvblob.dll library from here. I have recompiled the cvblob library with VS2012 (my previous version was compiled with MinGW and worked flawlessly), and managed to create both a DLL and an import library .LIB.
The application compiles properly, but the one spot where I use the cvblob library is now my source of error, because the linker cannot find the symbol for the cvLabel function in the library. This is the complete error message I get from VS2012:
ConsoleApplication1.cpp
1> Generating Code...
1>imageinput.obj : error LNK2019: unresolved external symbol _cvLabel referenced in function "public: class std::vector,class std::allocator > > _thiscall ImageInput::getROI(class cv::Mat,class cv::Mat)" (?getROI#ImageInput##QAE?AV?$vector#V?$Rect#H#cv##V?$allocator#V?$Rect_#H#cv###std###std##VMat#cv##0#Z)
1>C:\Users\Jake\Documents\Visual Studio 2012\Projects\ConsoleApplication1\Debug\ConsoleApplication1.exe : fatal error LNK1120: 1 unresolved externals
I'm not certain whether this is a problem with the cvblob library itself, my current binary for it, or just the process I used to compile it. I will gladly furnish any information I can upon request. Thanks in advance for your advice!
You obviously didn't link needed library in project settings. Try to add all OpenCV/CvBlob libs in linker properties of your prooject. See docs.

compiling delphi-pi

After Downloading the source, tried to compile the code.
The first bump was missing Jedi components, so downloaded jcl-2.2.1.3817-partnerdvd
Next step was installing , which was fine.
Now After Compiling , the error message is :
[DCC Fatal Error] Utils.pas(4): F2051
Unit JclCompilerUtils was compiled
with a different version of
JclSysUtils.IJclCommandLineTool
tried to download diffrenct versions, however the owner of the code claim it was compiled with 2.2.
Ideas how to resolve this?
edit: i just removed some references to the jedi from the library path, i hope didn't do any damage. still no go.
EDIT 2: downloaded the 0.57 and not the default resulted in:
[DCC Fatal Error] Utils.pas(4): F1026
File not found: 'JclBorlandTools.dcu'
now it seems as a simple version problem with jcl, ill reinstall(again).
Most Delphi error and warning messages are pretty clear, but "Compiled with a different version" errors are one of the few exceptions. What it really means is:
Something in Unit JclSysUtils (or one of its dependencies) has changed, and Unit JclCompilerUtils, which has a dependency on JclSysUtils, needs to be recompiled now, but only the DCU for it is available. Unable to locate the PAS file to recompile it.
Try making sure that the original source code for all the JCL units is available to the compiler.
I have checked my settings. I have compiled latest revision of delphipi using JCL 2.2.1.3886.
My library path contains following paths:
C:\Users\Public\Documents\Soft Gems\Virtual Treeview\Source
C:\Components\jcl-2.2.1.3886\lib\d14
C:\Components\jcl-2.2.1.3886\source\include
Delphipi depends three external libraries which are JCL, dxgettext and Virtual Treeview and links to these libraries are listed in the homepage of the project. I think you should check double check your JCL installation and library paths. Sorry, there is nothing else I can do about this. Good luck.
