I want to make a splash screen using AlertDialog.Builder, a custom view and a timer.
I'm using Xamarin.Android - i don't have the 'dismiss' method it seems, i can call 'dispose' but the alertDialog view does not close.
Example code below:
public class SplashDialog
{
private readonly AlertDialog.Builder _alert;
private readonly View _view;
public SplashDialog(Context context)
{
_alert = new AlertDialog.Builder(context);
var layoutInflater = (LayoutInflater)context.GetSystemService(Context.LayoutInflaterService);
_view = layoutInflater.Inflate(Resource.Layout.splash, null);
_alert.SetView(_view);
}
public void Show()
{
_alert.Show();
/*
new Thread(() =>
{
Thread.Sleep(3000);
_view.Dispose();
_alert.Dispose();
}).Start();
* */
new Handler().PostDelayed(() =>
{
_view.Dispose();
_alert.Dispose();
}, 3000);
}
}
It is true AlertDialog.Builder doesn't have a Dismiss() method, but when you call _alert.Show(), it returns an AlertDialog instance which has the Dismiss() method. You just need keep the instance somewhere and call it when you need it, like this
private AlertDialog _dialog;
public void Dismiss()
{
_dialog.Dismiss();
}

I have a splitlayout in my vaadin application in which in the first column I should show different pages added through the addToPrimary method, while in the second column I should have a page which contains an IFrame with a videoconference. Now the problem is that when I change route in the first column, even the second is updated and this refreshes the IFrame. The implementation of the showRouterLayoyutContent is the following:
#Override
public void showRouterLayoutContent(HasElement content) {
if (this.accessControl.isAccessGranted(UI.getCurrent(), ((ContentView) content).getName()) && ((ContentView) content).getName().equals("contattaView") ) {
setLayoutCall((com.vaadin.flow.component.Component) content);
}
else if (this.accessControl.isAccessGranted(UI.getCurrent(), ((ContentView) content).getName())) {
setLayoutContent((com.vaadin.flow.component.Component) content);
}
}
And the two methods setLayoutCall and setLayoutContent are the following:
private void setLayoutContent(com.vaadin.flow.component.Component content) {
split.addToPrimary(content);
}
private void setLayoutCall(com.vaadin.flow.component.Component content) {
split.addToSecondary(content);
split.setThemeName("visible-split");
}
How can I avoid to refresh the entire content when I update the first column of the split layout through navigation?
UPDATE: I'm showing also a very simple code on which I'm testing. The following class is the main layout:
private SplitLayout split = new SplitLayout();
private HorizontalLayout hl = new HorizontalLayout();
private Div firstDiv = new Div();
private Div secondDiv = new Div();
public MainView() {
Button button = new Button("Click me",
event -> Notification.show("Clicked!"));
final VerticalLayout menuBar = new VerticalLayout();
menuBar.add(new RouterLink("first view", FirstView.class));
menuBar.add(new RouterLink("second view", SecondView.class));
menuBar.setAlignItems(Alignment.CENTER);
add(menuBar);
//split.addToPrimary(firstDiv);
//split.addToSecondary(secondDiv);
//firstDiv.setId("first");
//secondDiv.setId("second");
//hl.add(firstDiv,secondDiv);
add(split);
//add(hl);
}
#Override
public void showRouterLayoutContent(HasElement element) {
if(element!=null && element.getClass().getName().contains("FirstView")) {
split.addToPrimary((Component) element);
//firstDiv.removeAll();
//firstDiv.add((Component) element);
//firstDiv.removeAll();
//firstDiv.getElement().appendChild(new Element[]{element.getElement()});
}
else if(element!=null && element.getClass().getName().contains("SecondView") ) {
secondDiv.removeAll();
secondDiv.add((Component) element);
split.addToSecondary((Component) element);
//split.addToSecondary(element.getElement().getComponent().get());
}
}
While these are the two views added to the split:
#Route(value="v1",layout=MainView.class)
public class FirstView extends VerticalLayout implements RouterLayout {
public FirstView() {
add(new Label("First View"));
}
}
#Route(value = "v2",layout=MainView.class)
public class SecondView extends VerticalLayout implements RouterLayout {
public SecondView() {
IFrame frame = new IFrame();
frame.setSrc("https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LoigVtPCYPk&list=RDLoigVtPCYPk&start_radio=1");
add(frame);
}
}
Your comment does indeed seem to be the issue.
I recommend creating a Div wrapper for the primary content, and instead changing the content of that.
private final Div wrapper;
public MyLayout() {
wrapper = new Div();
wrapper.setSizeFull();
split.addToPrimary(wrapper);
}
private void setLayoutContent(com.vaadin.flow.component.Component content) {
wrapper.removeAll();
wrapper.add(content);
}
You might also want to do the same for the secondary. In addition, to prevent any components from being automatically removed when navigating, you can override removeRouterLayoutContent as well (available in Vaadin 14)
#Override
public void removeRouterLayoutContent(HasElement oldContent) {
// Do nothing, we remove manually in showRouterLayoutContent
}
Edit
If you can't override removeRouterLayoutContent, you can try creating your own instance of the HasElement to add. This is a bit of a hack, but might be the simplest solution.
public void showRouterLayoutContent(HasElement content) {
if (content.getClass().getSimpleName().contains("TestView")) {
// Creating a new instance should stop it from being auto removed
content = new TestView();
firstDiv.add((Component) content);
}
...
}
I am creating a Twitter client using Fabric but I can not create a custom onClick.
I created this custom adapter and tried to create a OnClickListener but not working. Always open in browser tweet.
public class TweetAdapter extends TweetTimelineListAdapter {
public ArrayList<Long> tweetIds=new ArrayList<Long>();
public TweetAdapter(Context context, Timeline<Tweet> timeline) {
super(context, timeline);
}
#Override
public View getView(int position, View convertView, ViewGroup parent) {
Object rowView = convertView;
final Tweet tweet = (Tweet)this.getItem(position);
if(convertView == null) {
rowView = new CompactTweetView(this.context, tweet);
} else {
((BaseTweetView)convertView).setTweet(tweet);
((View)rowView).setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() {
#Override
public void onClick(View view) {
tweetIds.add(tweet.getId());
}
});
}
return (View)rowView;
}
}
In BaseTweetView class it is the function type OnClickListener but in this case I can't think of any idea to overwrite.
private void setPermalinkLauncher() {
BaseTweetView.PermalinkClickListener listener = new BaseTweetView.PermalinkClickListener();
this.setOnClickListener(listener);
this.contentView.setOnClickListener(listener);
}
class PermalinkClickListener implements OnClickListener {
PermalinkClickListener() {
}
public void onClick(View v) {
if(BaseTweetView.this.getPermalinkUri() != null) {
BaseTweetView.this.scribePermalinkClick();
BaseTweetView.this.launchPermalink();
}
}
}
Any ideas? Thanks
Finally I made this works using a custom Adapter (very similar that the one you use in the question). This adapter obtains the resulting view from super implementation and adds an onClickListener to overrides the fabric defaults one:
class CustomTweetTimelineListAdapter extends TweetTimelineListAdapter {
public CustomTweetTimelineListAdapter(Context context, Timeline<Tweet> timeline) {
super(context, timeline);
}
#Override
public View getView(final int position, View convertView, ViewGroup parent) {
View view = super.getView(position, convertView, parent);
//disable subviews to avoid links are clickable
if(view instanceof ViewGroup){
disableViewAndSubViews((ViewGroup) view);
}
//enable root view and attach custom listener
view.setEnabled(true);
view.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() {
#Override
public void onClick(View v) {
String tweetId = "click tweetId:"+getItemId(position);
Toast.makeText(context, tweetId, Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show();
}
});
return view;
}
//helper method to disable subviews
private void disableViewAndSubViews(ViewGroup layout) {
layout.setEnabled(false);
for (int i = 0; i < layout.getChildCount(); i++) {
View child = layout.getChildAt(i);
if (child instanceof ViewGroup) {
disableViewAndSubViews((ViewGroup) child);
} else {
child.setEnabled(false);
child.setClickable(false);
child.setLongClickable(false);
}
}
}
}
Full code example here.
Hope it helps.
I'm trying out MvvmCross with Xamarin 'classic'.
I've got it working with Android.
But I can't get it work for iOS. I've taken a look at the sample mentioned here (eh): MVVMCross support for Xamarin.iOS Storyboards
I'm really missing something.
What do i have:
A storyboard with only 3 controls on it. a label and 2 buttons. All 3
have names so i get the properties in the RootViewController class.
The basis setup.cs
AppDelegate.cs
[Register("AppDelegate")]
public partial class AppDelegate : MvxApplicationDelegate
{
UIWindow _window;
public override bool FinishedLaunching(UIApplication app, NSDictionary options)
{
_window = new UIWindow(UIScreen.MainScreen.Bounds);
StoryBoardTouchViewPresenter sbPresenter = new StoryBoardTouchViewPresenter(this, _window, "MainStoryboard");
var setup = new Setup(this, _window);
setup.Initialize();
var startup = Mvx.Resolve<IMvxAppStart>();
startup.Start();
sbPresenter.MasterNavigationController.NavigationBar.Translucent = false;
sbPresenter.MasterNavigationController.SetNavigationBarHidden(false, false);
return true;
}
}
StoryBoardTouchViewPresenter (from MVVMCross: Is it possible to use Storyboard with ICommand navigation?) But the API is changed.
public class StoryBoardTouchViewPresenter : MvxTouchViewPresenter
{
public static UIStoryboard Storyboard = null;
public StoryBoardTouchViewPresenter(UIApplicationDelegate applicationDelegate, UIWindow window, string storyboardName, NSBundle StoryboardBundleOrNull = null)
: base(applicationDelegate, window)
{
Storyboard = UIStoryboard.FromName(storyboardName, StoryboardBundleOrNull);
}
public override void Show(IMvxTouchView view)
{
MvxViewController sbView = null;
try
{
sbView = (MvxViewController)Storyboard.InstantiateViewController(view.Request.ViewModelType.Name.Replace("Model", ""));
}
catch (Exception e)
{
Console.WriteLine("Failed to find storyboard view, did you forget to set the Storyboard ID to the ViewModel class name without the Model suffix ?" + e);
}
sbView.Request = view.Request;
base.Show(sbView);
}
}
The default App.cs in the Core project
public class App : Cirrious.MvvmCross.ViewModels.MvxApplication
{
public override void Initialize()
{
CreatableTypes()
.EndingWith("Service")
.AsInterfaces()
.RegisterAsLazySingleton();
RegisterAppStart<ViewModels.MainViewModel>();
}
}
The ViewModel:
public class MainViewModel : MvxViewModel
{
ITodoTaskService taskService;
IDataManager<TodoTask> tasks;
public MainViewModel(ITodoTaskService taskService)
{
this.taskService = taskService;
}
public async override void Start()
{
this.tasks = new DataManager<TodoTask>(await this.taskService.GetTodoTasksAsync());
this.tasks.MoveFirst();
Rebind();
base.Start();
}
private void Rebind()
{
this.Description = this.tasks.Current.Description;
NextCommand.RaiseCanExecuteChanged();
PreviousCommand.RaiseCanExecuteChanged();
}
private string description;
public string Description
{
get { return this.description; }
set
{
this.description = value;
RaisePropertyChanged(() => Description);
}
}
private MvxCommand nextCommand;
public MvxCommand NextCommand
{
get
{
this.nextCommand = this.nextCommand ?? new MvxCommand(NavigateToNext, CanNavigateNext);
return this.nextCommand;
}
}
private bool CanNavigateNext()
{
return this.tasks.CanMoveNext;
}
public void NavigateToNext()
{
this.tasks.MoveNext();
Rebind();
}
private MvxCommand previousCommand;
public MvxCommand PreviousCommand
{
get
{
this.previousCommand = this.previousCommand ?? new MvxCommand(NavigateToPrevious, CanNavigatePrevious);
return this.previousCommand;
}
}
private bool CanNavigatePrevious()
{
return this.tasks.CanMovePrevious;
}
public void NavigateToPrevious()
{
this.tasks.MovePrevious();
Rebind();
}
}
I tried all kind of things. At the moment i get an exception that the MainView cannot be found. Which i partly understand. in App.cs MainViewModel is the start up. But the controller is called RootViewController. I think the RootviewController should bind to my MainViewModel. But i don't know how.
How should I make MvvmCross with iOs working?
How should I name the parts?
MvvmCross' default view finder will look for a view called MainView. That view should be derived from MvxViewController or another IMvxTouchView type. If you don't want to name your view controller "MainView" then you need to create a custom view resolver.
My advice: just rename your RootViewController to MainView.
I'm new of vaadin and now I'm running in the following trouble. I have a TabSheet that contains a few tabs.
Now my Tax Code component setted in immediate mode and others it has a the following ValueChangeLister
TextField taxCode = new TextField();
taxCode.setImmediate(true);
taxCode.addValueChangeListener(new ValueChangeListener() {
#Override
public void valueChange(ValueChangeEvent event) {
if(taxCode.isModified()){
searchByTaxCode(taxCode.getValue());
}
}
});
then each time that the user changes the value to taxCode component, the method searchByTaxCode is invoked. This happens also when the user switch from Tab2 to Tab1 and I don't want this?
How can I fix this problem?
This simple test app does not fire the ValueChangeEvent when switching tabs, only when actually changing the value in the TextField. You have something more that could influence the behaviour?
public class TabSheetEventsUI extends UI {
#WebServlet(value = "/tabsheetevents/*", asyncSupported = true)
#VaadinServletConfiguration(productionMode = false, ui = TabSheetEventsUI.class)
public static class Servlet extends VaadinServlet {
}
#Override
protected void init(VaadinRequest request) {
TabSheet tabSheet = new TabSheet();
Panel tab1 = new Panel("Tab 1");
Panel tab2 = new Panel("Tab 2");
tabSheet.addTab(tab1);
tabSheet.addTab(tab2);
final TextField tab1tf = new TextField("tab1tf");
tab1tf.setImmediate(true);
tab1tf.addValueChangeListener(new ValueChangeListener() {
#Override
public void valueChange(ValueChangeEvent event) {
System.out.println("Value change event catched.");
}
});
tab1.setContent(tab1tf);
setContent(tabSheet);
}
}
I need to create simple HTML editor. I know desktop application I can get access to DOM and set DesignMode=true. How can I do it for WebView in winrt application?
So seems I've found solution how to set DesignMode for WebView in WinRT applications.
I just needed invoke javascript method that could change document.designMode property to "on"
In my case I implemented extension for WebView where added DependencyProperty.
public static class WebViewEx
{
public static readonly DependencyProperty DesignModeProperty = DependencyProperty.RegisterAttached(
"DesignMode", typeof(bool),
typeof(WebViewEx),
new PropertyMetadata(null, OnDesignModePropertyChanged));
private async static void OnDesignModePropertyChanged(DependencyObject dependencyObject, DependencyPropertyChangedEventArgs e)
{
if (DesignMode.DesignModeEnabled)
return;
WebView view = dependencyObject as WebView;
if (view == null)
return;
if (e.NewValue == e.OldValue)
return;
await view.Dispatcher.RunAsync(Windows.UI.Core.CoreDispatcherPriority.Normal, async () =>
{
if ((bool)e.NewValue)
{
await view.InvokeScriptAsync("eval", new string[] { "document.designMode = \"on\";" });
}
else
{
await view.InvokeScriptAsync("eval", new string[] { "document.designMode = \"off\";" });
}
});
}
public static void SetDesignMode(DependencyObject element, bool value)
{
element.SetValue(DesignModeProperty, value);
}
public static bool GetDesignMode(DependencyObject element)
{
return (bool)element.GetValue(DesignModeProperty);
}
}
That allows me to turn on\off DesignMode from XAML
<WebView x:Name="webViewBody" Source="about:blank" controls:WebViewEx.DesignMode="true"/>
Mandatory requirement to Invoke javascript methods is webview should be initialized. In my case I set source property to "about:blank"
