Get Location with Mvvmcross - xamarin.android

I'm trying to get location in my application (mvvmcross/monodroid)
I follow this post : http://slodge.blogspot.be/2012/04/getting-location-information-in.html
I'm using Vnext version.
When I try to get location I have this message in output : "Location Service Provider unavailable - returned null".
I have this code to initialise location plugin in App.cs :

And in my ViewModel I follow the sample. I have to get location when I'm on the view so I added this code in my ViewModel constructor :

edit: I use Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.0 7"

I'm not sure what the problem might be, but some things to try are:
does your device definitely have gps? And is it enabled?
does your test app have coarse and fine capabilities declared in the manifest file?
does another app work? Eg the mvx tutorial app with its location view?

iOS 11.4 not asking Privacy Usage ( Privacy - Motion Usage Description has been set )

I'm stumped, iOS 11.4 ( 15F79 ), iPhone 6. Cannot get the App to Ask for Motion Data. info.plist has been set via the editor and double checked via the info.plist open in textWrangler, Also deleted key and saved via textWrangler.

I have deleted then reinstalled the app about 10 times. I have restared the phone 5 times. I have checked through settings and my app does NOT show up in Privacy-Motion and Fitness or anywhere else in settings. I am using a free developer account, maybe that has something to do with it?
I created a new Xcode game template and changed nothing apart from importing CoreMotion and this code

which prints a 0 ( an Enum - case not determined ) to the console.
In my actual app it was a 3 ( same Enum - case Denied ).
As I've said, I have uninstalled, reinstalled, edited plist via Xcode and text wrangler ( a code editor ) , tried different versions of the code above, tried the code in different places ( in did move to view, in class )tried code off apple docs. etc.... I haven't been asked the NSUsage question and the App keeps crashing.
I have looked for ways to get the Alert fired up, As in CLLocationManager.requestWhenInUseAuthorization() but I cannot find a comparable CMMotion version ( I don't think there is one. ) I have created a new swift file , imported Foundation and CMMotion and just put that code there, But still no Alert asking for Motion Data.
I tried a single view app template instead of a game template thinking that might be the issue, Nope.
What do I do?

You are confusing two related but different classes.
CMMotionManager gives access to accelerometer, magnetometer and gyroscope data. It does not require any user permission as this information is not considered privacy related.
In your else clause you are checking the authorisation status of CMMotionActivityManager. This object reports the device motion type (walking, running, driving). This information is considered privacy related and when you create an instance of this class and request data from it, the permissions alert is displayed.
The reason your else is being triggered is because you are checking isDeviceMotionActive; this will be false until you call startDeviceMotionUpdates, which you never do. Even if you used isAccelerometerActive you would have a problem because you call startAccelerometerUpdates in the if clause which will never be reached.
You probably meant to check isAccelerometerAvailable. If this returns false then there isn't much you can do; the device doesn't have an accelerometer.
Update
It doesn't make sense to check isDeviceMotionActive immediately after calling startDeviceMotion:
You know it's active; you just started it
I imagine the start up takes some time, so you could expect to get false if you check immediately.
Apple recommends that you do not have more than one observer in place for each motion device type, so the purpose of check the is...Active to ensure you don't call start... again if you have already done so.
If you only want gyroscope data then you don't need to call startDeviceMotionUpdates at all.

How to set path to picture in folder in device in android appcelerator app

So I have app where I want to let users to share screenshot of score to facebook etc... I'm using SocialShare widget. In documentation it says to set path to image like this: "image:fileToShare.nativePath", but I'm not really sure how to set it. Another problem is that I need to share picture that has always different name, it saves screenshots with names like tia7828157.png,tia107997596.png... in folder in device internal memory in pictures/enigmania/ I'm new to appcelerator, so I dont know if there is something like wildcard I could use for this? Thanks for any help.

You should use Ti.Filesystem class methods/properties to get the path of any file located on internal or external storage.
Also aware of the permissions of reading storage on Android 6+. Use Storage Permissions before accessing any file on Android 6+.
Simple code snippet to create a directory on internal storage at this location: pictures/enigmania and then write an image file of captured view in this directory.

This code should work without any issues.
Note that $.SCREENSHOT_VIEW is the View ID for which you will take screenshot, so it depends on you how you maintain your View positions in order to capture correct screenshot, but point is to use Ti.UI.View toImage() method to capture the screenshot of particular view.

Google Places Callback not being called in Swift iOS

I am using the GoogleMaps SDK (maps & places). For some reason the following callback is not being called. I have put loggers in there but nothing happens.

For some reason the block in currentPlaceWithCallback does not get called. Yesterday it happened because my API had a wrong bundle identifier, after changing which it started working. But today it stopped.
Any idea why this would happen ? Also, are we exposed to any API logs by Google ?
I was getting the same issue on my iPhone 6 device AND iPhone 6 simulator.
The fix was to add the NSLocationWhenInUseUsageDescription permission in Info.plist! But, it worked only on my iPhone 6 device, NOT the simulator.

Now, the way I got it working on the iPhone simulator was by changing my location on the Simulator: Debug -> Location. That is, it was set to 'Apple' by default, I just changed it to Bicycle Ride.
It worked for me, may not for all.

For plug in running on iOS

What I want to implement is as follow:
A-app (calling app) : request the return value of a-string sent as parameter : request(a-string) -> b-string.
B-app (plug-in installed separately by me or others, it plays the role of dictionary or database ) : search a-string from database and return the result (b-string).
With successful experiences of plug-in on android and with Apple's confident rhetoric of plug-in, I thought plug-in, of course, run on iOS. After a lot of hard work, however, I finally found out:

Nonetheless, not giving up, I finally made it with custom URl and pasteboard:
A-app : write a-string and false state to pasteboard & call B-app via custom URL.
B-app : viewDidLoad runs following func and thereafter exit program ; func { read pasteboard and search from database & write the result(b-string) and true state to pasteboard }
A-app : while-loop detects whether state is false or true. if true, catch b-string from pasteboard.
Anyway it works but it's too long thus almost useless. Do you have any idea for better solutions? Why doesn't Apple allow plug-in for iOS? Any responses are welcome. Thank you.
I can't answer why Apple doesn't allow plug-ins, but I can offer some advice on what you're trying to achieve.
The common pattern for sending data back to your application is to implement a callback url, so the A-app would also implement a custom URI and add that to the uri sent to B-app.
B-app would then process the uri as you have already implemented, but then instead of exiting, it simply sends the data you requested in the uri passed to it.

Using offline map sources with Monotouch's Route-me binding

I'm trying to get route-me to show an offline map which is bundled or to be downloaded after app installation. I'm using route-me bindings sample project to get the work done just for now. I also use the mbtiles file from the original route-me repo's SampleMap project. I copy the file to project's root directory and set it's build action to BundleResource (that's what I thought would be appropriate). After that I changed to code to this :

But no luck. App runs in the simulator but showing only a grey background nothing more. So I need someone to help me and tell me what I'm doing wrong. I need to get it done this week since next week is the deadline for project. So any help would be appreciated.
I haven't actually used offline tiles myself, but based on this thread it looks like you might need to put the RMDBMapSource into an instance of RMMapContents instead of directly into the MapView. So I'm thinking it would be something like this with Xamarin:

That assumes you have a wrapper binding for RMMapContents too which from the looks of it the bindings project does not have by default. You'd need to throw in a wrapper that at least defines the constructor.
