Loading image in subview without nib - ios

I'm adding a new subview
self.editView = [[EditView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0,0,320,296) WithImageView:self.mainImageView.image];
self.mainImageView.hidden=YES;
[self.view addSubview:self.editView];
The New View is:
- (id)initWithFrame:(CGRect)frame WithImageView: (UIImage *) image
{
self = [super initWithFrame:frame];
if (self) {
self.panRecognizer = [[UIPanGestureRecognizer alloc] initWithTarget:self action:#selector(handlePan:)];
self.rotationRecognizer = [[UIRotationGestureRecognizer alloc] initWithTarget:self action:#selector(handleRotation:)];
self.pinchRecognizer = [[UIPinchGestureRecognizer alloc] initWithTarget:self action:#selector(handlePinch:)];
self.tapRecognizer = [[UITapGestureRecognizer alloc] initWithTarget:self action:#selector(handleTap:)];
self.panRecognizer.cancelsTouchesInView = NO;
self.panRecognizer.delegate = self;
[self.frameView addGestureRecognizer:self.panRecognizer];
self.rotationRecognizer.cancelsTouchesInView = NO;
self.rotationRecognizer.delegate = self;
[self.frameView addGestureRecognizer:self.rotationRecognizer];
self.pinchRecognizer.cancelsTouchesInView = NO;
self.pinchRecognizer.delegate = self;
[self.frameView addGestureRecognizer:self.pinchRecognizer];
self.tapRecognizer.numberOfTapsRequired = 2;
[self.frameView addGestureRecognizer:self.tapRecognizer];
[self updateCropRect];
[self reset:NO];
self.retainedImage = image;
self.sourceImage = image;
self.imageView.image = self.previewImage;
if(self.previewImage != self.sourceImage) {
dispatch_async(dispatch_get_global_queue(DISPATCH_QUEUE_PRIORITY_DEFAULT, 0), ^{
CGImageRef hiresCGImage = NULL;
CGFloat aspect = self.sourceImage.size.height/self.sourceImage.size.width;
CGSize size;
if(aspect >= 1.0) { //square or portrait
size = CGSizeMake(kMaxUIImageSize*aspect,kMaxUIImageSize);
} else { // landscape
size = CGSizeMake(kMaxUIImageSize,kMaxUIImageSize*aspect);
}
hiresCGImage = [self newScaledImage:self.sourceImage.CGImage withOrientation:self.sourceImage.imageOrientation toSize:size withQuality:kCGInterpolationDefault];
// dispatch_async(dispatch_get_main_queue(), ^{
self.imageView.image = [UIImage imageWithCGImage:hiresCGImage scale:1.0 orientation:UIImageOrientationUp];
CGImageRelease(hiresCGImage);
// });
});
}
}
return self;
}
Also there are custom setter methods for images.
- (UIImage *)previewImage
{
if(_previewImage == nil && _sourceImage != nil) {
if(self.sourceImage.size.height > kMaxUIImageSize || self.sourceImage.size.width > kMaxUIImageSize) {
CGFloat aspect = self.sourceImage.size.height/self.sourceImage.size.width;
CGSize size;
if(aspect >= 1.0) { //square or portrait
size = CGSizeMake(kPreviewImageSize,kPreviewImageSize*aspect);
} else { // landscape
size = CGSizeMake(kPreviewImageSize,kPreviewImageSize*aspect);
}
_previewImage = [self scaledImage:self.sourceImage toSize:size withQuality:kCGInterpolationLow];
} else {
//self.previewImage = [self.sourceImage retain];
_previewImage = self.retainedImage;
}
}
return _previewImage;
}
I cannot load the image in the subview. I understand the properties wont be set on init. But how do I set them. I tried using another property retainedImage, and assigning it to preview image in its setter method, but not working.
This is a custom library found here

The properties for an object will be set to nil when the object is created. If you want to change the properties to other values, you can set them in any methods.
There are many possible reasons why you didn't see the image.
self.imageView is nil
self.imageView.image is nil
the size of self.imageView is 0
self.imageView is hidden
self.imageView is not attached to any views
self.imageView is occluded by other views
From your description, it is hard to tell which one is the reason behind it.

Why is the UIImageView not hiding when using a UISegmentedControl?

I have a UISegmentedControl where the first control will display the text within a UITextView while the second control displays a scrollable UIImageView.
In the initial startup, if I switch to the second control, the image displays and switching back to the first control, the image disappears and the UITextView shows.
However, when I switch to the second control the 2nd time and switch back to the first control, the image is still there and I cannot get the UITextView to show anymore.
My code has it to where the image is hidden and the text is shown in the first control, and vice versa in the second control.
Why was it working the first time, but then not working the second time I switched between controls?
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks
-(void)viewDidLoad
{
self.scrollView.delegate = self;
self.textView.text = #"THIS IS A TEST. THIS IS A TEST. THIS IS A TEST. THIS IS A TEST. THIS IS A TEST. THIS IS A TEST.";
self.textView.hidden = NO;
}
-(void)setScroller
{
CGSize scrollableSize = CGSizeMake(self.view.frame.size.width, self.view.frame.size.height);
[self.scrollView setContentSize:scrollableSize];
self.imageView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:[UIImage imageNamed:#"test.png"] ];
self.imageView.frame = CGRectMake(0, 0, self.scrollView.frame.size.width, self.view.frame.size.height);
self.scrollView.backgroundColor = [UIColor blackColor];
self.scrollView.minimumZoomScale = 1.0 ;
self.scrollView.maximumZoomScale = self.imageView.image.size.width / self.scrollView.frame.size.width;
//self.scrollView.zoomScale = 1.0;
[self.scrollView addSubview:self.imageView];
}
-(UIView *)viewForZoomingInScrollView:(UIScrollView *)scrollView
{
return self.imageView;
}
- (IBAction)segmentedControl:(UISegmentedControl *)sender
{
if (self.segmentedControl.selectedSegmentIndex == 0)
{
// Display apppropriate info for About
self.imageView.hidden = YES;
self.textView.hidden = NO;
}
else
{
self.imageView.hidden = NO;
self.textView.hidden = YES;
[self setScroller];
}
}
You should remove [self setScroller]; from the - (IBAction)segmentedControl:(UISegmentedControl *)sender method, and put it in -(void)viewDidLoad instead. You're calling [self setScroller]; every time you switch to the second segment.
Your code should look like:
-(void)viewDidLoad
{
[super viewDidLoad];
self.scrollView.delegate = self;
[self setupScroller];
}
-(void)setupScroller
{
// Set contentSize
CGSize scrollableSize = CGSizeMake(self.view.frame.size.width, self.view.frame.size.height);
self.scrollView.contentSize = scrollableSize;
// Add textView
self.textView.text = #"THIS IS A TEST. THIS IS A TEST. THIS IS A TEST. THIS IS A TEST. THIS IS A TEST. THIS IS A TEST.";
self.textView.hidden = NO;
// Add ImageView
self.imageView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:[UIImage imageNamed:#"test.png"]];
self.imageView.frame = CGRectMake(0, 0, self.scrollView.frame.size.width, self.view.frame.size.height);
self.imageView.hidden = YES;
[self.scrollView addSubview:self.imageView];
// Configure Zoom Scales and backgroundColor
self.scrollView.backgroundColor = [UIColor blackColor];
self.scrollView.minimumZoomScale = 1.0 ;
self.scrollView.maximumZoomScale = self.imageView.image.size.width / self.scrollView.frame.size.width;
}
-(UIView *)viewForZoomingInScrollView:(UIScrollView *)scrollView
{
return self.imageView;
}
- (IBAction)segmentedControl:(UISegmentedControl *)sender
{
if (self.segmentedControl.selectedSegmentIndex == 0)
{
// Display appropriate info for About
self.imageView.hidden = YES;
self.textView.hidden = NO;
}
else
{
self.imageView.hidden = NO;
self.textView.hidden = YES;
}
}
Your problem probably is that you creating a lot of instances of "imageView"
To solve your problem I suggest:
-(void)setScroller
{
CGSize scrollableSize = CGSizeMake(self.view.frame.size.width, self.view.frame.size.height);
[self.scrollView setContentSize:scrollableSize];
if(self.imageView == nil) {
self.imageView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:[UIImage imageNamed:#"test.png"]];
[self.scrollView addSubview:self.imageView];
}
self.imageView.frame = CGRectMake(0, 0, self.scrollView.frame.size.width, self.view.frame.size.height);
self.scrollView.backgroundColor = [UIColor blackColor];
self.scrollView.minimumZoomScale = 1.0 ;
self.scrollView.maximumZoomScale = self.imageView.image.size.width / self.scrollView.frame.size.width;
//self.scrollView.zoomScale = 1.0;
[self.imageView setNeedsDisplay];
[self.imageView setImage:[UIImage imageNamed: #"test.png"]];
}
I've put only the Alloc of the self.imageView + the addSubView to the if,
All the rest are out side,
Now it will work

UIImageView not responding to gestures on certain edges

I am making a custom control which consists of UIImageView and Label. The control behaves like a checkbox.
Here is the code:
-(instancetype) initWithTitle:(NSString *)title normalCheckBoxImage:(NSString *)normalCheckBoxImage selectedCheckBoxImage:(NSString *)selectedCheckBoxImage
{
self = [super init];
self.userInteractionEnabled = YES;
self.normalCheckBoxImageName = normalCheckBoxImage;
self.selectedCheckBoxImageName = selectedCheckBoxImage;
self.title = title;
[self setupSubViews];
[self registerGestureRecognizers];
return self;
}
-(void) registerGestureRecognizers
{
UITapGestureRecognizer *singleTapGestureRecognizer = [[UITapGestureRecognizer alloc] initWithTarget:self action:#selector(checkBoxTapped:)];
singleTapGestureRecognizer.delegate = self;
singleTapGestureRecognizer.numberOfTapsRequired = 1;
[self.checkBoxImageView addGestureRecognizer:singleTapGestureRecognizer];
}
-(void) checkBoxTapped:(UITapGestureRecognizer *) recognizer
{
self.isChecked = !self.isChecked;
if(self.isChecked)
{
[self.checkBoxImageView setImage:[UIImage imageNamed:self.selectedCheckBoxImageName]];
}
else
{
[self.checkBoxImageView setImage:[UIImage imageNamed:self.normalCheckBoxImageName]];
}
}
-(void) setupSubViews
{
self.checkBoxImageView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:[UIImage imageNamed:self.normalCheckBoxImageName]];
self.checkBoxImageView.frame = CGRectMake(0, 0, 50, 50);
NSLog(#"width = %f; height = %f",self.checkBoxImageView.frame.size.width,self.checkBoxImageView.frame.size.height);
[self.checkBoxImageView setUserInteractionEnabled:YES];
// The init with frame should be replaced by the NSConstraints
self.titleLabel = [[UILabel alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(self.checkBoxImageView.frame.size.width + 5, 10, 100, 20)];
self.titleLabel.text = self.title;
[self addSubview:self.checkBoxImageView];
[self addSubview:self.titleLabel];
}
I have attached gesture recognizer to the UIImageView. But for some reason it only fires when I am close to the left edge of the UIImageView. I am not sure what I am doing wrong. If I touch in the middle of the uIImageView then it does not do anything.
Here is the image:
The problem was the frame for the super view was not correct. Instead of width and height of 50 X 50 it was 50 X 20.
AZCheckBox *checkbox = [[AZCheckBox alloc] initWithTitle:#"I agree" normalCheckBoxImage:#"NormalCheckBoxImage" selectedCheckBoxImage:#"SelectedCheckBoxImage"];
checkbox.frame = CGRectMake(100, 100, 200, 50);
checkbox.delegate = self;
[self.view addSubview:checkbox];

why i change the alpha value of UIImageView but no effect?

I am working on a reader app. when you read one magazine, it will display first five pages and download the rest pages one by one. there is a scrollview to view the thumbnail image of pages. At the beginning, if the page needs downloading, the corresponding thumbnail view's alpha value is set to 0.5 (the thumbnail images are in the file,no need to download). when the page is downloaded, i will update the thumbnail view's value to 1.0. I use one operation to download the page, and when one is downloaded i use delegate to set thumbnail view's alpha.
But when i update thumbnail view's alpha value, it still the same as the beginning. it seems the alpha has no effect. I wonder is there anything wrong with my code? some snippets are as follows:
In the PageViewController.m
- (void)loadView
{
[super loadView];
//...
[self createSlideUpViewIfNecessary];
[self downloadPages];
}
- (void)createSlideUpViewIfNecessary {
if (!slideUpView) {
[self createThumbScrollViewIfNecessary];
// create container view that will hold scroll view and label
CGRect frame = CGRectMake(CGRectGetMinX(self.view.bounds), CGRectGetMaxY(self.view.bounds), CGRectGetWidth(self.view.bounds), CGRectGetHeight(thumbScrollView.frame));
slideUpView = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:frame];
[slideUpView setBackgroundColor:[UIColor blackColor]];
[slideUpView setOpaque:NO];
[slideUpView setAlpha:0.75];
[[self view] addSubview:slideUpView];
// add subviews to container view
[slideUpView addSubview:thumbScrollView];
}
}
- (void)createThumbScrollViewIfNecessary {
if (!thumbScrollView) {
float scrollViewHeight = THUMB_HEIGHT + THUMB_V_PADDING;
float scrollViewWidth = CGRectGetWidth(self.view.bounds);
thumbScrollView = [[UIScrollView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, scrollViewWidth, scrollViewHeight)];
[thumbScrollView setCanCancelContentTouches:NO];
[thumbScrollView setClipsToBounds:NO];
// now place all the thumb views as subviews of the scroll view
// and in the course of doing so calculate the content width
float xPosition = THUMB_H_PADDING;
for (int i = 0; i < magazine.pageNum ; i++) {
Page *page = [magazine.pages objectAtIndex:i];
NSString *name = page.pageName;
NSString *mfjName =[name stringByReplacingOccurrencesOfString:#".mfj" withString:#"Small.mfj"];
UIImage *thumbImage = nil;
if([mfjName hasSuffix:#".mfj"])
thumbImage = [Reader loadMfjFromSprOrCache:magazine MFJ:mfjName];
ThumbImageView *thumbView;
if (thumbImage) {// sometimes mfjname is 0 which means white page in normal and black thumbnail in thumbnail scrollview.
if (!mThumbnailSizeUpdated) {
mThumbnailWidth = thumbImage.size.width;
mThumbnailHeight = thumbImage.size.height;
mThumbnailSizeUpdated = YES;
}
thumbView = [[ThumbImageView alloc] initWithImage:thumbImage];
} else {
CGRect thumbFrame;
if (mThumbnailSizeUpdated) {
thumbFrame = CGRectMake(0, 0, mThumbnailWidth, mThumbnailHeight);
} else {
mThumbnailWidth = 80;
mThumbnailHeight = 100;
thumbFrame = CGRectMake(0, 0, mThumbnailWidth, mThumbnailHeight);
}
thumbView = [[ThumbImageView alloc] initWithFrame:thumbFrame];
}
NSString *mfjPath= [[magazine getDownloadPath] stringByAppendingPathComponent:name];
if (![magazine getFileInfo:name]&&![[NSFileManager defaultManager] fileExistsAtPath:mfjPath]) {
thumbView.alpha = 0.5;
}
[thumbView setBackgroundColor:[UIColor blackColor]];
[thumbView setTag:THUMBVIEW_OFFSET+i];
[thumbView setDelegate:self];
[thumbView setImageName:name];
CGRect frame = [thumbView frame];
frame.origin.y = THUMB_V_PADDING;
frame.origin.x = xPosition;
frame.size.width = frame.size.width+30;
frame.size.height = frame.size.height+40;
[thumbView setFrame:frame];
[thumbScrollView addSubview:thumbView];
UILabel *pageIndexLabel = [[UILabel alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(xPosition, frame.origin.y+frame.size.height-THUMB_LABEL_HEIGHT, frame.size.width, THUMB_LABEL_HEIGHT)];
[pageIndexLabel setBackgroundColor:[UIColor clearColor]];
[pageIndexLabel setText:[NSString stringWithFormat:#"%d",(i+1)]];
[pageIndexLabel setTextColor:[UIColor whiteColor]];
[pageIndexLabel setTextAlignment:UITextAlignmentCenter];
[thumbScrollView addSubview:pageIndexLabel];
xPosition += (frame.size.width + THUMB_H_PADDING);
}
thumbScrollView.showsHorizontalScrollIndicator = NO;
[thumbScrollView setContentSize:CGSizeMake(xPosition, scrollViewHeight)];
}
}
- (void)downloadPages
{
DownloadOperation *op = [[DownloadOperation alloc] initWithMagazine:magazine];
op.delegate = self;
[[(AppDelegate *)[[UIApplication sharedApplication] delegate] sharedOperationQueue] addOperation:op];
}
- (void)downloadOperation:(DownloadOperation *)operation finishedAtIndex:(NSUInteger)index
{
if (thumbScrollView){
[thumbScrollView viewWithTag:THUMBVIEW_OFFSET+index].alpha = 1.0;
}
}
In DownloadOperation.m
- (void)main
{
// ...
NSUInteger index = 0;
for (Page *page in mMagazine.pages)
{
if (/*page doesn't exist*/){
// download the page;
if ([delegate respondsToSelector:#selector(downloadOperation:finishedAtIndex:)]) {
[delegate downloadOperation:self finishedAtIndex:index];
}
}
index++;
}
}
you're using operation queue to download images -> thus, your finish callbacks might arrive not on the main thread, but you are trying to update you UI anyway - try wrapping your UI interaction into dispatch_async on main thread:
dispatch_async(dispatch_get_main_queue), ^{
if (thumbScrollView){
[thumbScrollView viewWithTag:THUMBVIEW_OFFSET+index].alpha = 1.0;
}
});
Thanks to #Inafziger for clues on this.

Enable Paging in UIScrollView after Zooming

I have a UIScrollView that loads three different pages.When i zoom in on a page, and zoom back out to the original size, the application stops letting me scroll between the pages, as if paging is disabled. What can i do to re-enable paging when zoomed out to the original size (Scale == 1)?
This is my code
- (void)viewDidLoad
{
[ScView setMaximumZoomScale : 2.0f];
[ScView setMinimumZoomScale : 1.0f];
ScView.contentSize = CGSizeMake(1024*3, 1.0);
ScView.pagingEnabled = YES;
ScView.clipsToBounds = YES;
ScView.delegate = self;
ScView.showsHorizontalScrollIndicator = NO;
ScView.showsVerticalScrollIndicator = NO;
[super viewDidLoad];
[self returnImages];
}
-(void)returnImages{
for (pageNumber = 1; pageNumber <= 3; pageNumber++) {
imagen = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:[UIImage imageNamed:[NSString stringWithFormat:#"%d.png",pageNumber]]];
imagen.frame = CGRectMake((pageNumber-1)*1024, 0, 1024, 768);
[ScView addSubview:imagen];
}
}
//
- (UIView *)viewForZoomingInScrollView:(UIScrollView *)scrollView{
return ScView;
// return [imagen initWithImage:[UIImage imageNamed:[NSString stringWithFormat:#"%d.png",pageNumber]]];
}
- (void)scrollViewWillBeginZooming:(UIScrollView *)myScrollView withView:(UIView *)view
{
NSLog(#"Scroll Will Begin");
ScView.scrollEnabled = YES;
}
- (void)scrollViewDidEndZooming:(UIScrollView *)myScrollView withView:(UIView *)view atScale:(float)scale
{
if(scale == 1)
{
ScView.scrollEnabled = YES;
ScView.pagingEnabled = YES;
[self returnImages];
NSLog(#"Scrolol will end");
//ScView.maximumZoomScale = 2.0f;
// [super viewDidLoad];
[self returnImages];
}
}
Any ideas will be highly appreciated..
To get proper paging and zooming you have to embed UIScrollView for each page into your parent UIScrollView. This combination will allow you to use simultaneously paging and internal scrolling.
Here is the example of UIViewController with parent scroll view and three embedded zoomable pages.
#define VIEW_FOR_ZOOM_TAG (1)
#implementation SVViewController
- (void)viewDidLoad {
[super viewDidLoad];
UIScrollView *mainScrollView = [[UIScrollView alloc] initWithFrame:self.view.bounds];
mainScrollView.pagingEnabled = YES;
mainScrollView.showsHorizontalScrollIndicator = NO;
mainScrollView.showsVerticalScrollIndicator = NO;
CGRect innerScrollFrame = mainScrollView.bounds;
for (NSInteger i = 0; i < 3; i++) {
UIImageView *imageForZooming = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:[UIImage imageNamed:[NSString stringWithFormat:#"page%d", i + 1]]];
imageForZooming.tag = VIEW_FOR_ZOOM_TAG;
UIScrollView *pageScrollView = [[UIScrollView alloc] initWithFrame:innerScrollFrame];
pageScrollView.minimumZoomScale = 1.0f;
pageScrollView.maximumZoomScale = 2.0f;
pageScrollView.zoomScale = 1.0f;
pageScrollView.contentSize = imageForZooming.bounds.size;
pageScrollView.delegate = self;
pageScrollView.showsHorizontalScrollIndicator = NO;
pageScrollView.showsVerticalScrollIndicator = NO;
[pageScrollView addSubview:imageForZooming];
[mainScrollView addSubview:pageScrollView];
if (i < 2) {
innerScrollFrame.origin.x += innerScrollFrame.size.width;
}
}
mainScrollView.contentSize = CGSizeMake(innerScrollFrame.origin.x + innerScrollFrame.size.width, mainScrollView.bounds.size.height);
[self.view addSubview:mainScrollView];
}
- (UIView *)viewForZoomingInScrollView:(UIScrollView *)scrollView {
return [scrollView viewWithTag:VIEW_FOR_ZOOM_TAG];
}
- (NSUInteger)supportedInterfaceOrientations {
return UIInterfaceOrientationMaskPortrait;
}
- (BOOL)shouldAutorotate {
return NO;
}
#end
I follow #NikNarmo 's solution, write a small swift xcode project to demo the zooming and paging function.
Hope to help anyone who want to do the same task.
Some code is from UIScrollView Tutorial: Getting Started http://www.raywenderlich.com/76436/use-uiscrollview-scroll-zoom-content-swift,
and some from A Beginner’s Guide to UIScrollView http://www.appcoda.com/uiscrollview-introduction/.
Using Xcode 7.0 and Swift 2.0
override func viewDidLoad() {
super.viewDidLoad()
mainScrollView = UIScrollView(frame: self.view.bounds)
mainScrollView.pagingEnabled = true
mainScrollView.showsHorizontalScrollIndicator = false
mainScrollView.showsVerticalScrollIndicator = false
pageScrollViews = [UIScrollView?](count: photos.count, repeatedValue: nil)
let innerScrollFrame = mainScrollView.bounds
mainScrollView.contentSize =
CGSizeMake(innerScrollFrame.origin.x + innerScrollFrame.size.width,
mainScrollView.bounds.size.height)
mainScrollView.backgroundColor = UIColor.redColor()
mainScrollView.delegate = self
self.view.addSubview(mainScrollView)
configScrollView()
addPageControlOnScrollView()
}
and the magic is in the func scrollViewWillEndDragging, when the contentSize is equal to the mainScrollViewContentSize or not, if it is mainScrollViewController, then do paging, otherwise do nothing.
func scrollViewWillEndDragging(scrollView: UIScrollView, withVelocity velocity: CGPoint, targetContentOffset: UnsafeMutablePointer<CGPoint>) {
let targetOffset = targetContentOffset.memory.x
let zoomRatio = scrollView.contentSize.height / mainScrollViewContentSize.height
if zoomRatio == 1 {
// mainScrollViewController
let mainScrollViewWidthPerPage = mainScrollViewContentSize.width / CGFloat(pageControl.numberOfPages)
let currentPage = targetOffset / (mainScrollViewWidthPerPage * zoomRatio)
pageControl.currentPage = Int(currentPage)
loadVisiblePages()
}
else {
// pageScorllViewController
}
}
And here is the project code https://github.com/Charles-Hsu/ScrollViewDemo

Scrolling UIScrollView on external screen attached to an iPad

Hey. I've achieved making a programmatic UIScrollView with zooming, but now I've been trying to take the scrollable/zoomable image to an external screen if plugged in.
#implementation MapVC
UIScrollView *mapScrollView;
UIImageView *mapImageView;
UIImageView *mapImageViewEx;
CGFloat lastScale = 0;
NSMutableArray *map_List;
- (id)initWithFrame:(CGRect)frame {
self = [super initWithFrame:frame];
if (self) {
mainMenuAppDelegate *del = (mainMenuAppDelegate *)[[UIApplication sharedApplication] delegate];
map_List = [[NSMutableArray alloc] init];
[map_List addObject:#"Pacific_Map.png"];
[map_List addObject:#"Atlantic_Map.png"];
CGRect mapScrollViewFrame = CGRectMake(0, 0, 1024, 768);
mapScrollView = [[UIScrollView alloc] initWithFrame:mapScrollViewFrame];
mapScrollView.backgroundColor = [UIColor blackColor];
[mapScrollView setDelegate:(id<UIScrollViewDelegate>)self];
mapScrollView.contentSize = CGSizeMake(2437, 1536);
mapScrollView.bounces = NO;
mapScrollView.bouncesZoom = NO;
mapScrollView.minimumZoomScale = .5;
mapScrollView.maximumZoomScale = 1.5;
[mapScrollView setZoomScale:mapScrollView.minimumZoomScale];
UIImage *mapImage = [UIImage imageNamed:[map_List objectAtIndex:mapNum]];
mapImageView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage: mapImage];
[mapImage release];
if(exScreenEnabled==1){
UIImage *mapImageEx = [UIImage imageNamed:[map_List objectAtIndex:mapNum]];
mapImageViewEx = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage: mapImageEx];
[mapImageEx release];
UIView *containerExViewP = (UIView*)[del.switchExVC.view viewWithTag:9000];
[containerExViewP addSubview:mapImageViewEx];
}else{
[mapScrollView addSubview:mapImageView];
}
[self addSubview:mapScrollView];
mapImageView.userInteractionEnabled = YES;
UIImage *footerMapIMG = [UIImage imageNamed:#"footer_map_alternate.png"];
UIImageView *footerMapView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:(UIImage *)footerMapIMG];
CGRect footerMapFrame = CGRectMake(0, 686, 213, 82);
footerMapView.frame = footerMapFrame;
[self addSubview:footerMapView];
footerMapView.image = footerMapIMG;
[footerMapView release];
CGRect backBTNFrame = CGRectMake(20, 714, 140, 52);
UIButton *MAP_backButton = [[UIButton alloc] init];
MAP_backButton.frame = backBTNFrame;
UIImage *MAP_backButtonIMG = [UIImage imageNamed:#"button_back.png"];
[MAP_backButton setImage:MAP_backButtonIMG forState:UIControlStateNormal];
MAP_backButton.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor];
[self addSubview:MAP_backButton];
[MAP_backButton release];
[MAP_backButton addTarget:del.switchVC
action:#selector(gotoMapAndListChooser)
forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside];
}
return self;
}
- (UIView *)viewForZoomingInScrollView:(UIScrollView *)scrollView{
if(exScreenEnabled==1){
return mapImageViewEx;
}else{
return mapImageView;
}
}
(Sorry I've had no luck getting that formatted to look right on this site)
If a video cable is plugged into an iPad, there's no image on the iPad, which is what I want. The image on the external screen zooms correctly when you do the gesture on the iPad, but I can't figure out how to make it scroll. Thanks in advance.
edit: I now have this -

As I said below, I can now get either scroll or zooming to work separately, but zooming is all messed up if scrolling is working, because when zooming it thinks it's also scrolling. So I want to avoid it scrolling when zooming, and to do this I want to detect the number of touches, which I must be doing wrong!
Got it working with the image being on the iPad and external screen. I'll probably swap it in with a rectangular area because the image is resource heavy to be both the iPad and external screen.

I pressed the space bar (4) times for code, and NOPE doesn't work stack overflow still broken. :)
