Implement Google Custom Search Other Than Via UIWebView - ios

Is there a way to do Google custom searches natively within an iOS app (without using web views)?
Right now the only Google search code I see in the docs is in Javascript.
I also found a Google API here for Objective C but I do not understand how this relates to Custom Search. https://code.google.com/p/google-api-objectivec-client/
So, can Google custom search be implemented with or without a UIWebView?
Without breaking Google's ToS of course. :)

You need to call google custom search web services for your app.

Google Place Picker API Query for App-scoped Places?

I have recently been looking at the following link to add to my application. It is the Google Place Picker API. I also know how to add places to the list of places that the Place Picker API uses to query for so that my custom places can appear in Place Picker API. However, I want it so that the Place Picker API only queries for just the places that have been created only by my application, and not for any other places that the Google Places API provides. I have found that this example query, under the scope key, helps me find if the Place created was created via my app or by Google. I want it so that the Place Picker API queries only for the Places created by my app. Is there any way to do this? That would be much appreciated. Thanks!
It's not possible, sorry. Neither the iOS or Android Place Pickers have an option to do this.
In fact both the Android Place class and the iOS GMSPlace class lack the scope property, which only exists on the Places API web service today.
You'd have to build this yourself, e.g. by displaying a map and adding markers to it for your places, etc, rather than using the Place Picker widget from the Google Places API for iOS (or Android).

Google Maps autocomplete Functionality from Apple Maps for Objective C?

I need to implement autocomplete Functionality for a City-Name Search in Objective C.
Basically at the Moment I would use the Google Maps autocomplete Functionality from here: https://developers.google.com/places/documentation/autocomplete
But I don't like displaying the powered by google - logo.
That's the reason why I'm asking here, is there a way to implement autocomplete Functionality using Apple Maps API or similar ?
Thanks for any advice
Check this out - Yahoo YQL console.
There you can put queries like this - it gives you all places starting with San:
select * from geo.places where text="San%"
The resulting JSON / XML can act as data source to what you are trying to display for autocomplete results.
As I can see they allow up to some number of free queries for non-commercial use, and beyond that they charge. You may check it out here and here.
If you dont want to implement it yourself, you can use this service called 'Autocomplete as a Service' which is specifically written for these purposes. You can access it here - www.aaas.io. It does support large datasets and you can apply filters as well. You just add your data and use the API URL in your autocomplete data source.
Disclaimer: I am founder of it. I will be happy to provide this service to you.

Integrating Facebook, twitter, google plus into another app

Integrating facebook, twitter and google plus into another web app, so that the posts in that app are posted write away as status in facebook, tweets in twitter and status in google plus.I am developing this using ruby on rails.I searched a lot about this but didn't find anything which would work for me.Can post some links or ideas which would be helpful for this.
For Facebook I must suggest you to use Koala Gem...
For Twitter
Twitter
https://twitter.com/about/resources/buttons
A twitter button can be easily generated here and placed on your web site..Its working great. You can even customize everything in twitter.. Its so user friendly.
For Google plus
Google Plus
I am just working on Google plus..Facing some difficulties as its having so many restrictions.
Still I would Like to Share a link you can follow that..
How to share content from our site to google plus
I hope it will work fine...
I'd suggest to use Koala ( https://github.com/arsduo/koala/wiki ) to interface with Facebook. It's by far the best maintained fb library out there.
Otherwise, you should learn one thing or two about OAuth2:
https://github.com/intridea/oauth2
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/authentication/
https://developers.google.com/accounts/docs/OAuth2
Use https://github.com/sferik/twitter to interact with twitter.
For google, I've found that implementing the XML chat manually is easier than using any existing API wrapper. To convert XML responses into data, you an use a combination of the Response#parsed method of oauth2 gem and Array.wrap of ActiveSupport (there is no way for an XML parser to tell a single node to a possibly repeated node (so an array) that appears just once, avery big drawback of XML in my point of view)
Or you can directly ask google for JSON, so you already have the data correctly structured.
And, as #brendan-benson very correctly says, do only API calls in background workers, never in your normal request/responses cycle.
There are plenty of gems available to access these APIs:
Twitter API Wrapper
Facebook API Wrapper
Google Plus API Wrapper
Since APIs are flaky, it's best to use a queueing system like resque to queue the calls in Post#after_create, and then have a resque worker execute the call asynchronously.

Integrating Google Docs API

I'm just beginning with programming, but i wanted to know if it's possible to use google docs api to make documents on another site using the google docs text editor?
Is there some sort of way i can put the google docs text editor onto a website so that we can use that for document creation instead of tiny mce?
Basically the functionality needed would be documents created, openly shared, a postable version of it (take html code) -- so it can go on the document display page, and
Of course there would be google login and everything, but i just wanted to see if this would work.
No, that is not possible, sorry.

iOS: Google Calendar Example

Searching around the net for almost 1 day I still did not see any simple good example of an app that implements the Google Calendar API. Or even simple explanation on how to implement the API is still not available. Can someone help me please? I'm a newbie to iOS. I need to learn how to create an event using the Google Calendar API through my app in iOS. I need a sample simple code...
Here are some very useful links when trying to figure out the google calendar api. http://code.google.com/p/gdata-objectivec-client/wiki/GDataObjCIntroduction and mainly http://code.google.com/p/iphone-gcal/. I just downloaded the source code from the second link and worked from there. It was great!
The Google Calendar API, like most Google API's, provides a straightforward REST interface. Instead of focussing first on how to create calendar events, learn how to interact with a RESTful web service. Once you know how to do that, you only have to learn what calls to make to accomplish your goal, and that's already well documented.
