How I can rotate a polar chart? - highcharts

I want a polar chart (with highcharts library), but I need the chart is rotated 45º. I have the following base script:
$(function () {
var interval = 90;
var startAngle = 0;
window.chart = new Highcharts.Chart({
chart: {
renderTo: 'container',
polar: true,
margin: 60
},
title: {
text: 'Style of thought',
},
pane: {
startAngle: startAngle
},
xAxis: {
tickmarkPlacement: 'on',
startOnTick: true,
tickInterval: interval,
min: 0,
max: 360
},
yAxis: {
min: 0,
max: 100
},
plotOptions: {
series: {
pointStart: 0,
pointInterval: interval
},
column: {
pointPadding: 0,
groupPadding: 0
}
},
series: [
{
type: 'area',
name: 'Luis',
data: [40, 60, 35, 89]
}, {
type: 'line',
name: 'Media de comunidad',
data: [60, 75, 15, 52]
}]
});
});
Example in jsfiddle and the chart nice.
I need to rotate the chart 45º, for this I change the value of startAngle to 45
$(function () {
var interval = 90;
var startAngle = 45;
window.chart = new Highcharts.Chart({
chart: {
renderTo: 'container',
polar: true,
margin: 60
},
title: {
text: 'Style of thought',
},
pane: {
startAngle: startAngle
},
xAxis: {
tickmarkPlacement: 'on',
startOnTick: true,
tickInterval: interval,
min: 0,
max: 360
},
yAxis: {
min: 0,
max: 100
},
plotOptions: {
series: {
pointStart: 0,
pointInterval: interval
},
column: {
pointPadding: 0,
groupPadding: 0
}
},
series: [
{
type: 'area',
name: 'Luis',
data: [40, 60, 35, 89]
}, {
type: 'line',
name: 'Media de comunidad',
data: [60, 75, 15, 52]
}]
});
});
Example 2 in jsfiddle and now the chart is bad. If you see it, the center of the circle is not equidistant from the circumference.
Any idea of the problem?
Thank you very much!!

It looks like a bug, so I've reported to our devs here: https://github.com/highslide-software/highcharts.com/issues/1561
Thanks for suggestion

Thank you very much in advance!
As I mentioned in the comment current line shape is at it is because of the points positions on the chart. If you don't need to keep points actual positions the solution which you can use is to use the dummy data for the points and use the correct one in the dataLabels. See:
Demo: https://jsfiddle.net/BlackLabel/fshx3n50/
data: [{
y: 5,
z: 0.20
}, {
y: 10,
z: 1.40
}, {
y: 18,
z: 6.20
}, {
y: 30,
z: 18.00
}, {
y: 50,
z: 73.00
}],
I also changed the formatter function to display the z value in dataLabel:
formatter: function() {
return '<div class="chitem-time">' + this.x + '</div>' +
'<div class="chitem-val">' + Highcharts.numberFormat(this.point.z) + '<sup>REM</sup></div>';
}

Highcharts Polar Plot area scaling issues

I created a graph with Highcharts polar type. The boundaries of chart are overflowing. Can anyone please help me in fixing the graph.
Please find my problem on JSFiddle:
JSFiddle
Code:
$(function () {
$('#container').highcharts({
chart: {
polar: true,
showAxes: false
},
title: {
text: 'Highcharts Polar Chart'
},
pane: {
startAngle: 0,
endAngle: 360
},
xAxis: {
tickInterval: 45,
min: 0,
max: 360,
labels: {
formatter: function () {
return this.value + '°';
}
},
lineWidth: 10,
lineColor: "#000000",
gridLineWidth: 5,
gridLineColor: "#000000"
},
yAxis: {
offset: 120,
tickmarkPlacement: 'on',
min: 0,
max: 4,
visible: false,
endOnTick: false
},
plotOptions: {
series: {
pointStart: 0,
pointInterval: 45
},
column: {
pointPadding: 0,
groupPadding: 0
},
line: {
color: "#ff0000",
lineWidth: 10
}
},
series: [{
type: 'line',
name: 'Line2',
data: [8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1],
pointPlacement: 'between'
}]
});
});
This produces axis outside plot area. I would like to increase plot area so as to see the meeting point of extremist end points.
The reason the Plot is overflowing is because you have set a Maximum Value for the yAxis of 4 but in your data you have values that are greater than 4, like 8,7,6 and 5.
Just remove the max: 4 option from the yAxis Object and your Chart will display fine.

Negative Fill color in AreaSpline Graph

I want to fill area color above the spline in area spline chart.
I have tried to set negative fill color but no result.
Can anyone let me know how to fill area color above the spline rather then below?
Any help will be appreciated.
$(function () {
$('#container').highcharts({
chart: {
type: 'areaspline'
},
title: {
text: 'Average fruit consumption during one week'
},
legend: {
layout: 'vertical',
align: 'left',
verticalAlign: 'top',
x: 150,
y: 100,
floating: true,
borderWidth: 1,
backgroundColor: '#FFFFFF'
},
xAxis: {
categories: [
'Monday',
'Tuesday',
'Wednesday',
'Thursday',
'Friday',
'Saturday',
'Sunday'
],
plotBands: [{ // visualize the weekend
from: 4.5,
to: 6.5,
color: 'rgba(68, 170, 213, .2)',
}]
},
yAxis: {
title: {
text: 'Fruit units'
}
},
tooltip: {
shared: true,
valueSuffix: ' units'
},
credits: {
enabled: false
},
plotOptions: {
areaspline: {
fillOpacity: 0.5
}
},
series: [{
name: 'John',
data: [3, 4, 3, 5, 4, 10, 12],
negativeFillColor: '#000000'
}, {
name: 'Jane',
data: [1, 3, 4, 3, 3, 5, 4],
negativeFillColor: '#000000'
}]
});
})
;
Thanks,
M
Well, threshold should work. Just you need to set
endOnTick: false
maxPadding: 0
threshold: max_value_in_data
See: http://jsfiddle.net/3bQne/1076/
Code:
var data = [3, 4, 3, 5, 4, 10, 12];
Array.prototype.max = function() {
return Math.max.apply(null, this);
}
$('#container').highcharts({
chart: {
type: 'areaspline'
},
yAxis: {
endOnTick: false,
maxPadding: 0
},
plotOptions: {
areaspline: {
threshold: data.max(),
}
},
series: [{
data: data,
negativeFillColor: 'rgba(255, 0, 0, 0.5)'
}]
});

how to set the interval of points on Y - Axis highcharts

I am using highcharts for the first time, and I am trying to figure out how to set the Y axis points static.
I have used min=0 and max=140 , and the points on y axis come up as 0,25,50,75,100,125 and 150. Wherein I want it as 0,20,40,60,80,100,140.
Can someone let me know how could I achieve this.
Below is the highchart optins :
var chart1 = new Highcharts.Chart({
chart: {
renderTo: 'Div1',
width: 600,
height: 400
},
yAxis:{
min: 0, max: 140,
lineColor: '#FF0000',
lineWidth: 1,
title: {
text: 'Values'
},
plotLines: [{
value: 0,
width: 10,
color: '#808080'
}]
},
series: [{
name: 'Value',
data: YaxisValuesArray
}]
});
});
You can set the tickInterval (http://api.highcharts.com/highstock#yAxis.tickInterval) on the axis
http://jsfiddle.net/blaird/KdHME/
$(function () {
var chart1 = new Highcharts.Chart({
chart: {
renderTo: 'Div1',
width: 600,
height: 400
},
credits: {
enabled: false
},
title: {
text: 'Productivity Report',
x: -20 //center
},
xAxis: {
lineColor: '#FF0000',
categories: [1, 2, 3]
},
yAxis: {
min: 0,
max: 140,
tickInterval: 20,
lineColor: '#FF0000',
lineWidth: 1,
title: {
text: 'Values'
},
plotLines: [{
value: 0,
width: 10,
color: '#808080'
}]
},
tooltip: {
valueSuffix: ''
},
legend: {
layout: 'vertical',
align: 'right',
verticalAlign: 'middle',
borderWidth: 0
},
series: [{
name: 'Value',
data: [
[1, 10],
[2, 20],
[3, 30]
]
}]
});
});
To do this using HighChart in a StockChart mode, I just need to set the property tickPixelInterval.
yAxis: {
...
tickPixelInterval: 35
...
}

highcharts reversed yAxis but keep fill area below spline?

The yAxis in my chart is reversed and has a fill area, this put the fill area above the spline. Is there a way to keep the fill area below the spline when the axis is reversed?
A working jsfiddle here
$(function () {
var chart;
$(document).ready(function() {
chart = new Highcharts.Chart({
chart: {
renderTo: 'container',
type: 'areaspline'
},
title: {
text: 'Average fruit consumption during one week'
},
legend: {
layout: 'vertical',
align: 'left',
verticalAlign: 'top',
x: 150,
y: 100,
floating: true,
borderWidth: 1,
backgroundColor: '#FFFFFF'
},
xAxis: {
categories: [
'Monday',
'Tuesday',
'Wednesday',
'Thursday',
'Friday',
'Saturday',
'Sunday'
]
},
yAxis: {
title: {
text: 'Fruit units'
},
reversed:true,
},
tooltip: {
formatter: function() {
return ''+
this.x +': '+ this.y +' units';
}
},
credits: {
enabled: false
},
plotOptions: {
areaspline: {
fillOpacity: 0.5
}
},
series: [{
name: 'John',
data: [3, 4, 3, 5, 4, 10, 12]
}, {
name: 'Jane',
data: [1, 3, 4, 3, 3, 5, 4]
}]
});
});
});
if you change the threshold to be like this jsfiddle
highcharts threshold ref here
plotOptions: {
areaspline: {
fillOpacity: 0.5,
threshold: 12
}
What worked for me was setting the threshold explicitly to null:
{
... (other series properties)
threshold: null,
...
}
