I am new to Pentaho BI , I am using 'Peantho BI community edition'. please guide me on how to starting BI Server as a windows service.
Currently, I am starting Pentaho server manually, however, I want to start BI server as a Windows service.
Please help me on this.
Thanks in advance,
Suresh
Take a look at a product called YAJSW - Yet another java service wrapper.
very easy to use, i've used this both with Carte and BI Server.
If you check the pentaho wiki there's a guide to running Carte (DI server) using this wrapper, the instructions should be similar for BI server.
Here's a link to doing this with the BI Server.

I wrote a QB integration a few years ago that uses the Web Connector to read and write data to and from QB desktop products. It works well but I am not in love with the Web Connector.
I am tasked with setting up another QB integration. I was hoping to avoid using the Web Connector this time. There are a few reasons why I am trying to avoid the Web Connector but the main reason is I would like to make this integration work with both Desktop and Online versions of QB.
Is it possible to use the Intuit Sync Manager to sync the company data up to Intuit and then just use the standard Online APIs to connect to that company file? I have done some testing and I can connect to QB Online via the Online APIs but I cannot seem to get it to see the synced company files.
Any help with this would be great. Just looking for a little direction here.
Thanks in advance for any help.
For QBO, of-course, you can use QBO REST APIs(V3) API.
Ref - https://developer.intuit.com/docs/0025_quickbooksapi
But for QBD, QBSDK and web-connector is still the only approach.
QBD V2 and V3 REST APIs are already deprecated.

Can anyone Plese help me regarding the Quickbook API integration
I have downloaded SDK from
https://majorapi.com/developers/quickbooks/sdk/php
I have installed it and configured the keys.
I've got some db tables when executing the Quickbook.php file.
I'm stuck there, can anyone please help me further.
If you're building a SaaS app (allowing other people to connect their QuickBooks companies to your app):
If you're building for QuickBooks ONLINE:
Instead of using that lib, use the QuickBooks PHP DevKit that's available on GitHub. It's open-source and well supported, and works fine with OAuth and v3.
You can follow the QuickBooks PHP IPP v3 Quick-Start Guide to get started. You'll go through a similar process to what you went through above, where you'll find in your own OAuth token/secret and app token in the configuration, and then you'll be able to connect to QuickBooks.
From there, you'll find several example scripts:
https://github.com/consolibyte/quickbooks-php/blob/master/docs/example_app_ipp_v3/
If you're building something else (something internal or for use only by a single company):
If you're building for QuickBooks for WINDOWS:
Here is a PHP QuickBooks Library which does exactly what you want to do.
You should follow the QuickBooks PHP Web Connector quick-start guide to get started. You'll want to architect your application so that your PHP script can receive the data, store it temporarily in a database (MySQL, etc.) and then the Web Connector can pick up the data destined for QuickBooks from there.
The Web Connector is a little different than a standard web service in that it works in a sort of backwards manner - the Web Connector will call out to your PHP web service vs. you calling out to it.
There's a overview of how the Web Connector works over here.
You should refer to these scripts (as the quick-start guide does above):

I have installed a quickbooks premier 2014 desktop edition in my system and wants to integrate it using QBXML Request processor API(QBXMLRP2) through java application.
I have gone through the QBXML SDK Documentation but didn't find a proper way on integration with java.
I found this from the documentation :
1.Open a connection to QuickBooks.
2.Start a session for working on a specific QuickBooks company file.
3.Send whatever requests you want to do something in QuickBooks.
4.When you’re done or before your application exits, end the session.
5.Then close the connection.
It will be greatly appreciated if some one could provide me some sample code to integrate with Quickbooks.
And also how to configure QBXMLRP2Lib files in my java application?.
Thanks in advance.
There is a product called QuickBooks Web Connector that allows your app to use QBXML through a web service. Intuit has created a sample java application that communicates with web connector that may provide what you need.
Also, if you're starting a new app from scratch you may want to consider using the newer "V3 QBD" API instead of QBXML.
Is it possible to host microsoft access 2010 in WPF or Windows Forms as ActiveX or anything? I've seen DsoFramer examples but it's not supported from Microsoft and not to mention buggy. Some articles suggest using webBrowser but it's coupled with registry settings that I would not like to overwrite.
Interobility at that moment isn't that important than just to be able to load the access database in a parent window.
Do I have any options of doing that other than using webBrowser control?
Thank you.
Probably not the answer you want to hear but there are no really good solutions available for embedding Office apps/documents in WPF/Winforms anymore. DSOFramer was about the only real choice, but it's dead and the KB has been removed. A web browser control is also plagued with problems.
Although not confirmed to support Access 2010, the only solution I know of for embedding Office docs these days is http://www.officeocx.com/. It has had its share of problems too - rumor has it that it is based off of DSOFramer.
You can try to use Microsoft Sharepoint, and serve the access functionality remotely through an embedded browser frame. Check this video about it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dq-tDuPfgZc
There is a way. Amazon Web Services have a service called WorkSpaces. I've managed to host applications that give clients remote connection to their software that is not traditionally for the web. One of them was an accounting system. The other is an MS Access application.
I would be interested in knowing if Azure have a cheaper better solution, considering they own the product Windows Terminal Server. What I would really like to see on Azure is a windows container for MS Access.
I have a web service app - that I need to connect to a MOSS server.
for example:
using (SPSite site = new SPSite(this.SiteAddress ))
{
using (SPWeb web = site.OpenWeb())
MOSS is not running on the same server as this web service app. Should this be a problem trying to use the object model. Or do I really have to go the web service route?
As far as I know you need SharePoint installed to use the object model (you may be able to fudge it, but I wouldn't fancy your chances :-)). You options are to either use the built in SharePoint webservices, expose your own "friendly" service and consume it from your other server or move your webservice to the Sharepoint box.
At the very minimum you will need to deploy Microsoft.SharePoint.dll to the machine hosting the web service. If it does require MOSS classes (the one's you've listed only require WSS) then you will also need to deploy the MOSS assembly (I believe it's Microsoft.Office.Server.dll). After that, it's going to become a deploy and pray situation in my experience :)
