Delete/Remove post title in blogger (in all the blog!)? - post

How to Delete/Remove post title in blogger (in all the blog! not just static pages only!)? i mean in regular posts also.
thanks

Put in CSS [Go to Template, Customize, Advanced, Add CSS] or add this before </b:skin> tag in Edit Template HTML, Expand Widget Templates:
.post-title.entry-title {
display: none;
}

DISPLAY:NONE is not typically advised, because Google may seem it as "Suspicious" manner for hidden keyword optimization.
Better, too EDIT HTML (under template) and put this line in comments ( ):

Customize the theme, using the theme editor available in the blog dashboard. Opt to customize the theme. Look for the advanced options. Give the 'post title' element a transparent colour and a 0px font.
Specifically:
Go to your blog dashboard.
Select 'theme' from the list in the left pane, then 'customize' in the centre pain (pane? pain?).
Then select 'Advanced' on the left.
Select 'post title' from the list that appears in the main pane.
Click on text-colour dropdown and select 'transparent.'
And change the font to 0px as well.
Click 'apply to blog'.

Contao: Teasers in dropdown navigation

I need to make a dropdown navigation, where for every parent navigation item, in the dropdown area I show the child pages + 3 images with a title linked to other pages.
I would need something like the 'Custom Navigation' module with an option to select images (or add a custom class, and get the image from the page).
Is there an extension which I could use for this? If not, would be easier/faster to change/extend a core module, or should I create a new one?
Thanks!
EXAMPLE ('Kollektion' menu-item hovered. The gray area is the submenu container)
I don't know of an extension that would allow including an image to a specific link in a navigation menu. But if you are willing to do it with CSS styles, here's how I would do it:
Any page can have multiple custom CSS classes and they do apply to the navigation (unless the navigation template has been changed in such a way that they don't anymore). The place where you enter these CSS classes is at the bottom of the Edit page view, under expert settings. Add any CSS classes you want and then edit the style sheet to make them look right.
If the three pages are not supposed to be subpages for the current page, but lead somewhere else, you can use the "Internal redirect" page type for them.
The CSS could be something like this in addition to your regular styling:
.level_2 li {
float: left;
clear: left; /* this is to stack them on top of one another*/
}
.level_2 li.special_class {
display: inline-block;
vertical-align: top;
}
.level_2 li.special_class:before {
display: block;
content: '';
width: /* the intended image width */
height: /* the intended image height */
}
.level_2 li.special_class.foo {
background-image: url('foo');
}
.level_2 li.special_class.bar {
background-image: url('bar');
}
...
Please remember that this isn't supposed to be a complete solution, but rather a principle upon which you can build your own. You may want to add backwards compatibility to older browsers (or not), etc.
I think there is an extension to allow you do that. check this link Navigation with images
and may be this one also Navigations-Bild
Either of this should give you what you want but with a little styling

best_in_place show dropdown menu option

I figured that this would be a common need, but have been unsuccessful in finding a solution. I followed this ASCIIcast by Ryan Bates http://railscasts.com/episodes/302-in-place-editing?view=asciicast and now have functional in place editing on my website. However, I think it is not intuitive that these records are editable at all, as they just appear as a plain text representation of the current record value until you click them. I want something so that the select dropdown shows up by default like it would in a normal form as shown in the image. Is there anyway to do this using best_in_place or rest_in_place?
I know it is not exactly the answer you are looking for but you can style the best_in_place values using the .best_in_place class.
I did something like this on my website, which helps showing that the value is editable:
.best_in_place {
padding-right: 18px;
background-image: url('*/ link to an edit icon /*');
background-size: 15px auto;
background-position: right center;
background-repeat: no-repeat;
cursor: pointer;
}
.best_in_place:hover {
background-color:#eeeeee;
}
What i think you want to do is to find the styles that are applied to the hover state of the element, and copy them to the normal state of the element too.
In chrome inspector:
Right click on the select tag and choose "Inspect element"
Right click on the element as seen in the "Elements" tab and choose "Force element state" and then "hover"
On the right of the inspector now you should see the styles that are applied to the :hover state of the element. Copy these into your stylesheet and remove the ":hover" part from the end of the rule. You might need to add some extra selectors to the rule to make sure you don't do this for all selects across your entire site.
A dropdown is the default behavior for best_in_place if your original form input is via radio buttons. Otherwise, you can use a :colllection to at least validate the new data entry.
e.g. in haml, updated answer must be red, green or blue:
.flex1=best_in_place :color, :type => :select, :collection => (["red","blue","green"])

How to create an anchor within a div?

I'm looking for a solution that doesn't require JavaScript, jQuery or anything too advanced; mostly HTML/CSS as those are what I am restricted to using.
The idea I have is a layout with two smaller div classes within one div ID. Each box have their own content and are placed side by side. What I'm trying to accomplish is to create an anchor link within one div that changes its content to something else.
e.g. box 1 on default displays "abc" as its content while box 2 displays "def". When you click on an anchor link in box 1, the content would then change to 123-- without affecting what's in box 2 or moving it down with the anchor.
Hopefully that makes sense.
There's no code to edit/work off of so any help would be appreciated.
You can use the :target selector to hide both div, and show element with the ID in the URL hash:
div.MyBox {
display: none;
}
div.MyBox:target {
display: block;
}
Clicking an tag pointing to #someId would then show that element.

tweaking jquery-ui menu widget

Working on making a very standard dropdown menu with the new jquery ui 1.9 menu widget, but having some problems due to the newness of the widget and the presence of only a single extremely basic example at jqueryui.com
Specifically, can anyone here help me to:
Initialize a widget with no icons for submenus? (Default is a right-facing carat and I can't get rid of it)
Make a menu where user has to click on the top menu item (as opposed to just hovering) to make the submenu appear? Any deeper submenus should then expand when the user's pointer hovers over them. This is typical dropdown behavior, e.g., user clicks "edit" to make options appear like "select" or "undo", but any further choices under (for example) "select" would apper just by hovering over "select". I hope that's clear.
Thanks
I don't know how to do the second part of your question but I can answer the first question.
You can change the default icon by setting the icon option of the menu option.
First add a class to your CSS file like this.
.no-icon { display:none;}
Then set the icon option when you create the menu.
$( "#menu" ).menu(
{ icons: { submenu: "no-icon" } }
);
You won't have any icons.

Is there a way to use JQM button styling outside of a Page or Header data-role?

I just started working with JQM a little while ago. I used the default VS2012 asp.net mobile project to start with. I like how the mobile pages work, but wanted a fixed area at the top of each page that essentially has 3 columns one of which is a logo. I've done that (with a basic table to start with) in the _layout.cshtml, and right below that is where I start the JQM Page layout. This is all working well, and I like how the page transitions happen while keeping a fixed header area at the top.
However, I would like to add a button to my fixed area at the top that is styled similar to the other JQM buttons. This doesn't work because the buttons are not within a valid Page or Header data-role I presume. Is there a way to take advantage of the JQM styles for HTML that is outside of those data-roles?
As an example, I'd like to use the anchor tag for a Log In button and have it styled the same as it is with a gear-icon when it's within a div that has data-role = "header". I'm not sure I have a deep enough understanding to drill down through all the elements that are used in the .css file and was hoping there are other individual classes or something I can take advantage of.
This is the line I am trying to display as a button, but I am only getting text (does work as anchor tag though):
Log in
Also, I am using jquery.mobile-1.1.0 and jquery-1.7.2.
You can style any element as a button by calling the jQuery Button Widget on the element:
$('.login-button').button();
The button function also accepts options such as the icon and theme:
$('.login-button').button({
icon: 'gear'
});
See also: http://jquerymobile.com/test/docs/buttons/buttons-options.html
Try adding data-role="button" to your anchor tag.
